Not many get the honor to hold the prestigious championship. Those who do have the responsibility of carrying it with honor, and ing it on to future generations.

Nick Aldis captured the elusive championship on October 21st, 2018 and guided it through the NWA's toughest period of its existence. The honor has seemingly gommaged away, until Nick Aldis forced the world to watch and listen.

After a mainstream feud with Cody Rhodes (which was featured on the now iconic PPV All-In), which saw Nick Aldis retain the ten pounds of gold, Aldis needed a worthy challenger. Someone with class, prestige and confidence... Someone...

Trevor Murdoch was considered a joke for the majority of his career, never taken seriously as a true contender. That was until 2019, when NWA Powerrr relaunched. Murdoch was featured prominently as one of the shows premier mid-card talents, eventually winning the NWA National Championship.

Trevor Murdoch interrupts the interview, storming onto the broadcast and confronting the champion.

"Nick, you can lie to these people all you want, but deep down, they know the truth... Chris Adonis is a part of your little gang of thieves! You're not the innocent bystander you want them to think you are! You-"

Just then, with a stone cold serious expression, Nick Aldis calmly grabs the microphone and stares into Murdoch's soul.

"Trevor... NEVER, Turn your back on the enemy..."

Suddenly, Murdoch is ambushed from behind by Chris Adonis and is brutally beaten. As a direct result of the attack, Murdoch suffers a severe neck injury, which threatens to force Murdoch to vacate his National Championship.

Despite the doctor's discretion, Trevor Murdoch would defend his championship against Chris Adonis at the next NWA Powerrr taping. Though he had the fans behind him, Adonis relentlessly targeted the injured neck of Murdoch and forced Murdoch to out and lose his National Championship.

Once again, Trevor Murdoch interrupts the Worlds' Champion. Before he could speak however, Aldis continues his speech.

As Murdoch attempts to speak, he is ambushed and beaten down once again by Chris Adonis and Thom Latimer. This attack causes Murdoch to miss several weeks of work to rehab.

Weeks by, and Nick Aldis remains without a challenger. On a following episode of NWA Powerrr, Nick Aldis makes an appearance and speaks about his future opponents, this time however, he has a new purpose.

Following this speech, Nick Aldis is blindsided by the announcement of a 14 man battle royale to decide his next challenger, with one of the confirmed participants being the returning Trevor Murdoch!

Despite a heavy disadvantage of facing both Chris Adonis and Thom Latimer in the final three of the championship contending battle royale, Trevor Murdoch is able to eliminate both of Aldis's allies and win an opportunity to face Nick Aldis at NWA: When Our Shadows Fall. Directly after the match, Murdoch fends off an assault from Aldis and leaves the champion laying in the ring as Murdoch is approached for a post match interview.

"I can't believe it man... It's all starting to set in... I'VE GOT A CHANCE TO BE A WORLD CHAMPION!... I have worked my whole life and dreamed about this moment!... I just really wish Harley was here..."

Tears stream down Murdoch's face as he reminisces about his mentor, the man who trained him, Harley Race.

"If Harley was here, he would be so proud! Ha!... He told me I was going to be a World Champion someday, and I..."

Murdoch takes several breaks to compose himself and his tears, the emotion and ion truly taking over.

"Every morning, I'd walk in the building to his school and I'd see that title hanging above the doorway... And it was always a dream, a big dream of mine, but never a reality... Today... Today, it became REAL!..."
