Let's talk psychic powers!

This is an exciting one! A lot of us imagined having these kinds of powers as a kid!

Main uses

The basic uses of psychic powers is telekinesis! Lifting stuff with your mind from, pencils to entire buildings can be done by a very advanced . Psychic blasts of energy are also a thing as well as force fields and the ability to read people's minds! Honestly any power ending in -kinesis fits in this category.

There are a LOT of variations of this one power. But another popular way they can be used is with regular weapons and objects. A toy sword can be hardened with psychic energy to make it as strong as a real one. It can even make a strike from that sword split through concrete walls several feet away from the strikes shockwave. There are honestly too many variations to list lol (Good examples of this are in the anime "a certain scientific railgun" and "mob psycho 100".)

Dark side

Psychic powers all dwell in the mind. So as a result, can easily damage the brain of overused. Psychic powers are very reactive to emotions, so an emotional psychic can be very dangerous. These powers can very easily go out of control if the isn't focused and have catastrophic side effects like explosions and crushing objects. Some powers people might not be able to turn off either. Let's say you have the ability to read people's minds. But it was all the time and you could never turn it off. Some s can even go insane with these powers because of how brain warping they can get.

This is also rather open ended since these powers have so many variations. As for the basics, they're usually not seen like wind and you can only see what they effect. This is the easier way to write the power. But there are instances where the energy it uses can be seen. Often it is depicted as electricity like energy or a glowing mist / gaseous form. Or sometimes a combination of both! When these powers are overused, the will always get fatigued due to the massive amount of mental energy their using. And it's also good to know that power will drastically vary from person to person. Every is different and has a different capacity for powers and some find it easier to use than others. (But that's with every power.) It's important to have the s mental state, mental strength and personality in mind when writing psychic powers. Probably more than any other power because it's so much like a muscle. The more it's used and practiced with, the stronger it can become! But the smallest thing can set it off in the wrong way. The realm of psychic powers is limitless!
