“odd encounter"

A figure appeared out of nowhere. The two others in the current setting they were all in, were not surprised at all. They did not find it disturbing that a somebody with nothing to her name could so freely enter and exist the throne room. The throne room mentioned here was not just a mere ordinary one too, but the throne room belonging to the eastern empire's ancient palace.

"What business were you two up to that you had to leave me out?"

Ding Ling held up her great sword of unknown orgins. Threateningly or with fear, the lines were blurred, so much that it was unclear which of the two was it. She just wanted to crash this party. Her character was a major act in this story too. So, her presence would be necessary here.

Xing Yijun sighed upon meeting with this person once more. It was the seventh time of this day already if he was not mistaken. That Xing Yijun had bumped repeatedly into her. This wasn't the first it had happened. Not only in this plane, but various other planes he had travelled to before, had characters annoyingly bumping him with coincedences playing as excuses. If it were the first few times it had happened, perhaps he could buy that reasoning, but that wasn't the case now. Xing Yijun was doubting if there were some other kind of twisted play here.

Without the same wariness he had always been staring at her with all the time before, Leomer Dove looked at Alvira and laughed graciously. His gesture was intended to invite people over to fall for his schemes. Ding Ling was pretty sure that saying of; 'Wolf in Sheep's Clothing' could be put to some use here. Though, maybe not the entire meaning would be implied into Leomer's case.

"Why don't we specially invite the lady have a seat over, Rondel? What do you say?"

Leomer Dove's attention focused back to the person sitting leisurely on a couch; that seemed rather out of place with the throne room so ancient that it would look as if it would break into ruins anytime soon. Rondel shrugged. Leomer Dove acted as if he had never saw his reaction and agreed on both their behalfs.

"Apologies, Alvira. You'd have to make do with that seat."

Ding Ling thought of the other two as smart indiviuals but they were rather stupid in some sense. She walked over to where Leomer Dove had pointed to and sat down. The seat was most probably dusty and dirty but who cares. Ding Ling could have cleaned the seat with a flick of her finger by using magic here but she couldn't have been bothered as single bit.

"Continue on with your coversation, please."

Ding Ling spread out her hands and pointed out for them to carry on with whatever they were doing from before. She didn't take notice of their mocking attitudes towards here. Maybe she did. She wouldn't give a damn anyways. Even though Leomer Dove was the said Emperor of this Empire, Ding Ling preferred to refer him as his taboo name. Meaning his birth name. It was rude but who would even say anything about it? Ding Ling had power. Money, not so much. But people would still have to be aware and take caution against her, else who knew what would happen. Nothing could be guranteed if the person taking action would be her.

Rondel, was yet another, strange character she found. Out of the many planes she had visited, a majority count of them, had this odd character she would meet that would contrastly stand out from the rest. Like Rondel. Ding Ling could have long since connected the bits and pieces to form that big puzzle she was missing out but she just chose not to. Now, she was suffering as she had to ponder and think about the connections. Ding Ling lit a candle for herself and prepared her own funeral in advance. She forgot that she couldn't die.

Ding Ling made herself comfortable and feel at home while she rested on this very old chair. It didn't mind to her that it was hard to the point of hurting one's body. The thought had yet to even occur or process to Ding Ling about that. In fact, she found it relaxing and nice to lie on this hard couch. At least, this furniture was still standing strong up to this date. Seemed durable and steady compared to the other kinds of stuff Ding Ling saw in the room.

Rondel and Leomer Dove had continued their conversation the second after Alvira had mentioned for them to freely do so. They went on and around in circles to the point where, when Alvira turned her focus and attention back to the circumstance on hand, she got pissed off just hearing another two minutes into their conversation. Like, it went something like this.

"Would your final decision remain in not considering?"(LD)

"What would you mean, not considering?"(R)

"Ah, take my previous words as nothing but the air you breathe in then.

How's things going on with your sister?"(LD)

"My sister? Hadn't I mentioned I didn't have one?"(R)

"I thought you did?"(LD)

"Maybe I did have one."(R)

"Then, is she alive?"(LD)

"Who knows?"(R)

"How's she doing? What about your family?"(LD)

"No clue. How about yours then?"(R)

"Sigh, you know how mine's like."(LD)

"I do not know how yours is like."(R)

"......"(A)

Yeah, it went on like that. Roughly, about seventy-five percent of it, probably. Answering ambigiously, acting as if one had not a clue, probing here and there and more so of such, going roundabouts there in their conversation. It was making her, Ding Ling, dizzy. If this was what they had been doing for the past minutes before she had arrived on scene, Ding Ling could might as well bang her head to a nearby pillar and take her own life there and then.

Ding Ling, the most probable evil woman out there, whom had killed many out of her own agendas, was so sick of these little kids in front of her. That she considered killing herself. Not suicide. Killing herself.

The two had finally began to in their minds that there was another person in the room and that the said someone was most probably getting annoyed by whatever they were chattering on about. So, they decided to be good and shut their mouths. Ding Ling, for once, appreciated their brains peacefully without any criticism added on after.

It was nearing daybreak. Leomor Dove still had an empire to run as Emperor. He might not be the best but he was still pretty good at his job. He may be some tyrant or overbearing ruler and be somewhat evil in some sense: but it still wasn't so big of an issue to affect his own sense of duty and responsibility, being the Emperor. Though, things may get exaggerated with manipulation done all over.

"In all seriousness, I am asking the both of you: Would you be willing to take up the offer of being my right and left hand men?"(LD)

"..."(A)

"No."(R)

The second after Leomer Dove had brought up his question, both Alvira and Rondel had already given their answers. One, with Alvira, staying silent. The other, with Rondel, immediately refusing Leomer Dove's offer. Ignoring Rondel's given answer here, Alvira asked Leomer Dove:

"Give us both a reason why you would bring up such a request."

A silence shortly befell on the three of them. Ding Ling and Rondel were both fine with the atmosphere. Not so much for Leomor Dove's case. He had difficulties in answering Alvira's question. The surrounding silence was of not much help as it was gripping on tightly to his heart, suffocating him of his own breath.

"Would me being in desperate need for allies be a sufficient reason for you?" Leomor Dove tiredly answered.

"Eh, yeah. That would suffice. You should have the benefits set in place for the both of us, so I need not worry. I want a contract written too."

"Of course."

Xing Yijun had wanted to protest. Too bad he wasn't given any opportunity to even act on that. It might look like Alvira and Leomer Dove were having an ordinary conversation, nothing too abnormal. But only he knew of how much they both kept cutting him off. Just like that, Xing Yijun had no chance at all. He was annoyed and frustrated but he could only remain silent lest they did something even worse than just shutting him up when he wanted to talk.

After a little small talk with Leomer Dove, he exchanged farewells with Alvira and the still silent Rondel for he had to turn back to his role of being that well-known overbearing Emperor of the Eastern Empire he was.

Ding Ling made the quiet impression in her mind that Leomer Dove wasn't as bad as what she often heard or even mentioned as compared to the original storyline. Perhaps, the crowned prince of that time had known that he wasn't really suited to the role of Emperor and pushed the inheritance of the crown to his older brother, Leomer Dove. Maybe whatever had happened like that, who knew.

Even with her good impression of him, she doubted that it would never change that he was just one little villain in the entire storyline of the plane she currently existed in. He was just one of the major stepping stones the hero and heroine would face to meet the even graver and greater things they were fated to encounter. That was just what Leomer Dove was.

Ding Ling faced Rondel with a chilly smile hanging by the corner of her lips. He only blankly stared right back at her, with not a single idea about what the other had in store for him.

A little while later, Rondel was seen hunching and shrinking all his best to make himself smaller. He forgot that Alvira was agrressively fierece. It had been quite some time since she scolded him like this so he forgot his lesson to never provoke Alvira.

He weakly nodded and agreed to go along with just whatever plans she had in mind.

No one knew that this obstinate bull could turn into a timid bunny by Alvira's hand. It should stay so that way lest people start to faint out of shock.

On getting the reaction she had wanted, Alvira decided to let Rondel go this time.

"Ok. Bye." Alvira literally said those two words as she walked away from Rondel. Thankfully, she had given him a wave to soften up her awkward and out of place farewell greeting. But Rondel was used to it so he didn't pay much heed. He opened his lips to say something, yet unfortunately, he was too late.

Just like how she entered, she blended in with the darkness and left quietly.

This would mean that he'd have to get moving as well. Xing Yijun sighed out of- heaven knew why he had even sighed at all.
