Speaking of Sylvia, the titular blue Zabornack alongside Ryder were indeed able to sneak into Haters intergalactic storage bin with little to zero issues. However after it was revealed Ryder had been lying from the beginning and want to keep all the stolen tressure. Not only that but he continued to insult Wander and tripped the P.A system.
Worst of all was he tried to ditch her like a selfish twit. Ryder continued trying to weasel his way out of his punishment while Sylvia just accepted the handcuffs and mulled over what exactly she had caused. All this had started as just wanting a bit more thrill, and Sylvia was all for an adreline rush. It was her whole bread and butter before so was reliving those moments ever a bad thing. Yet Sylvia realized something a core theme her escapades with Ryder had in common. It was always running away from solutions and ending things on bad . Alongside making many enemies based on there unsavory actions. Quite the opposite impact Sylvia made with Wander. Her heart sank slightly thinking about how she treated him. What had she done?
"Look, fella, her and the little furry guy are who Hater really want. Let me go and I'll make a deal with!-"
Sylvia had never been more thankful for a competent watchdog. Someone had to shut him up!
Oh, I always forget what a jerk Ryder was, and what a jerk he makes me. I let the only partner who's seen the good in me just "wander" away.
How foolish could she have been to think anyone would be better than Wander? Ryder didn't care one bit about anyone else as long as he got what he wanted but the orange star nomad cared about everyone. Even if they were cruel he'd always try to find the best in everyone and everything. Especially with Sylvia.
And how does she repay him? By saying she was selfishly bored and the orange star nomad would have been alot better acting like her "ex partner."
She now knew there was only other creature she wanted and could never replace. To bad the Zabnorack was just now realizing this. Sylvia sighed starting to reminisce on old memories.
"Flab drassit. I'm sure gonna miss the goofy little guy."
Wander was definitely silly for sure. But much like his other gifts his smile was irreplaceable. The way his eyes would light up in excitement whenever they discovered something new or were visiting a planet they could power multiple light bulbs. The way his voice would sometimes squeak whenever they found something funny.
"The way he'd...mess up a plan just to do something nice. And he'd always find some crazy way to get out of it!"
So many wonderful unique and also lesson learning. Which was ironic because Sylvia thought she knew exactly how the galaxy worked but Wander would always shake up her viewpoint. How did he do it?!
"It's like he's.... magic."
Maybe Wander was. Rumors were star nomads did have a secret power but obviously the records were lost in time. But that word did fit her orange alien pal to a tee. He could influence and change almost anything or anyone. Whether Wander knew that or not was anyone's guess but Sylvia did know he believed in those values strongly while also being smarter than most creatures gave him credit for. Her thoughts were interrupted by that Watchdog again.
"Lady, I'm sorry you lost your dog or whatever, but nobody cares."
If her paws weren't already in cuffs she would have decked that puny eyeball hard. Suddenly the ships ground started to rumble much to her surprise. Ryder was already locked up and Sylvia would have ed him right after only for a worm to come crashing through the floor and a certain familiar cheery voice calling out.
"SYLVIA!"
Wander stood atop Fredrick and let him chase the Watchdogs away smiling at his steed more than happy to see her. Sylvia definitely felt the same for her friend to.
"Wander? What, how, who?"
" that time on Kee-ton 6?"
"When we helped the immensapede find his missing lens?"
"Turns out, this is his cousin!"
Wander got off Fredrick and descended shuffling his shoes on the floor in embarrassment.
"Oh, Sylvia, I know you and Ryder are all tough and cool, - and I'm often not, but-"
The Zabnorack just gave him a blunt look as she tore off her handcuffs casual like while the Watchdogs just continued to run and scream. She looked at her real partner with a impress look.
"Are you kidding? You the time you busted into Hater's secret storage unit on a giant space worm just to help your best friend? That was pretty cool."
Wander merely beamed and hop right back on her saddle where he belonged. Maybe he didn't have to change. Sylvia still loved him for who he was. He gave her another grin.
"Would you say us being friends is the greatest adventure of all?"
No, because that would be way too sappy....
Wander frowns slightly. For about half a second.
"But I'm kinda thinkin' it."
The orange star nomad squealed with happiness and wrapped his arms around Sylvias neck as she nuzzled him right back in return feeling so relieved.
"I'm sorry pal. "
"Frederick, thanks so much for the advice. It totally worked!"
"Why, that's spectacular, Wander! , acknowledging your differences can often make a relationship even richer!"
The big worm Roars and took off on yet another rampage as the orange star nomad brought up some surprising information but was also oddly casual about it.
"You know, he was gonna eat me."
"Oh Wander. What am I gonna do with you?" Sylvia playfully teases and rolled her eyes. More company arrived when Hater showed up. As always he was really angry but that was expected from him.
"What is going on here?! Oh, Wander. Why am I not surprised?!"
"Sorry about the mess. But I was asking a space worm, about friendship and-"
"I don't care! Seize them!"
"What do ya think? Number 9,042? Number eleventy-seven?"
Sylvia just winked at him with most confidence. She had enough of secret action packed codes and complicated maneuvers.
"Just do your thing."
Wander beamed as he recognized one of the Watchdogs. Oddly enough it was the one he had been talking about when they were assisting Mr and Mrs Brittle with there house aka Barry. The orange alien dug through his hat and pulled out a big cake for him.
"Happy birthday Barry!"
The others in the army congratulated him as Sylvia and Wander snuck out the back with ease. The electrical green skeleton grew even more furious at his troops incompetence. Not only that but Fredrick had approached him rather casually to.
Stop them! You're embarrassing both me and yourselves!
Dreadfully sorry, but I think I knocked over something rather important during my rampage. It seems the station will soon be, uh, well exploded. Cheerio!
After hearing that every eyeball soldier started to panic. Where was Commander Peepers when you needed him!
Back to the ship! Runaway!"
"Stop her!"
Sylvia merely shrugs and looks at Wander again. They better bounce before the whole place blew to smithereens.
"Well, time to go."
"Just one more thing."
"Curse you, Wander!"
The duo broke Ryder out and orballed themselves far away from Haters ship.
"Sylvia, I knew you'd come back, old buddy, old pal."
Old pal? Buddy? Funny she didn't exactly feel like one when he tried to abandon her the second they got caught. Past Sylvia would have just done the same thing to him but considering Wander likely wouldn't approve she'd have to suck it up and be the bigger Zabnorack.
"You're just lucky my partner makes me a better person."
And the second the storage unit exploded all was right as many aliens were given there planets greatest treasures ranging from money, coins, paintings, video games, even a stuffed bear. Alongside a massive fruit basket of course, Ryder obviously being the only one less than thrilled about the outcome.
"I could've been so rich. Aw, frood it. You win some, you lose some, righty, Syl? So what's next? A grift, a scam, grand theft spaceship? I guess Wander to come, too. I have a hustle that can use the little nert muncher."
Nert muncher? Oh how dare he talk about her true best friend like that. Clearly he didn't learn a thing. Luckily Sylvia had a plan as she gently kicked Ryder out of the bubble onto a grey planet as she and Wander floated away. Good riddance. Hopefully she never saw his sorry star chasing face again. Ryder wasn't too worried.
"She'll be back."
Uh huh. Sure whatever you got to tell yourself dude. Speaking of coming back an all to familiar worm returned to his home and saw the blue stranger currently occupying it. Maybe it was time for another therapy session!
"Hello there. Let's talk about your honesty issues."
"NOOOO!"
Meanwhile Wander and Sylvia were finally reunited again as the latter asked about what the future would hold for them next.
"So, partner, what is next? Help a multi-armed Vetruvian with a pesky hangnail? Find the missing corner of the Rubikian puzzle planet?"
The duo froze as they saw Haters Skullship. Aparently it must have tracked them down. Wander could just hear him shouting from the inside.
"You destroyed all my stuff! For that, you will pay! Possibly with money, but definitely with suffering!"
The orange star nomad smiles playfully looking at his steed deciding now was the perfect time to give her what Sylvia had been asking for all along. Who's to say they still couldn't have fun once and awhile!
"How's about a little adventure? Hi-dy ho, Sylvia. Away!"
And both of them rode away into the cosmos reunited at last. This was going to be a blast. Surely nothing could stop a pair of pals like him and her!
"I HATE YOU SO MUCH, WANDER!!"
"I love you, too!"
