[BC]

"Only boring people complain about boredom."

:heavy_check_mark: Basic Details :heavy_check_mark:

➤Personality

While neither talkative nor silent, Felis would much rather listen than be listened to. When he speaks, more often than not, it will either be for purpose of throwing in a cheeky, sarcastic comment, or to prompt another person to speak. He also enjoys playing devil's advocate, which tends to annoy others.

It's difficult to tell when he's being sincere as his tone hardly ever gives away how he actually feels. He is rather whimsical and impatient, and will often make sudden, unexpected choices for no reason other than that he simply wants to do it. He doesn't have much regard for consequences either. Despite this, he does have common sense, and won't do something no matter how interesting if the surefire result is his own death unless there is absolutely nothing else to do.

He's constantly bored, and will satisfy his curiosity by carrying out a wide range of activities and learning about everything there is to know around him. Once he loses interest in something though, he'll approach that subject cooly and uncaringly. Felis is rarely aggressive in his speech or actions. He whole heartedly believes that he is completely sane, a thought that his backed up by his initial disposition. He's fairly normal otherwise, to the point where it's difficult to even tell that has any issues at first. (He has lost almost all filters on his speech.)

➤ Habits

When deep in thought, he enjoys twisting and pulling things around with his fingers, the victim of this habit usually either his own hair or nearby fabrics. The more intense or frustrating the thought, the stronger he pulls, sometimes even ripping apart whatever it is that's subject to his treatment.

➤ Likes

Loud music, sleeping, poetry, new experiences, cucumbers, precision, people who talk a lot and with substance, (violence).

➤ Dislikes

Numbers, candy, bright lights, repetition, silence.

➤Fears

ing things as they actually were.

➤ Extra

Despite sleep being one of the things that he enjoys quite a lot, he actually has difficulty sleeping, often waking up in the middle of the night. Loud music is the only thing that helps him fall--and stay--asleep.

:heavy_check_mark: Physical Characteristics :heavy_check_mark:

` ` ` ` ` `

➤ Skin Complexion

He is fairly pale due to the fact that he hardly ever goes into the sunlight, preferring to stay indoors mostly. His poor sleeping and eating habits also contribute to his sickly complexion.

➤ Face

Felis has a gaunt and tired face; despite this, a smile can always be seen resting lightly on it. His pale grey eyes are fairly sensitive to strong lights, and are usually seen either half lidded or fully closed. Underneath his eyes are long shadows and deep eye bags.

➤ Hair

He has a messy shock of black hair tinted with strands of gray. It's long enough to just barely pull back into a short pony tail. The way his hair appears changes every day; some days it's tied up, other days it's pulled back to expose his face, and sometimes it's a mess of black draped carelessly across his visage.

➤ Body description

5'6" / 109lbs

He's a little shorter than average, and has a slim and lithe body. On bad days, his boney structure is much more prominent.

➤ Voical characteristics

It's difficult to label his voice as masculine or feminine. He has a smooth tone, though it can turn rough and husky at certain times, such as right after he wakes up. He has a fairly large range, and will sometimes change up the manner in which he speaks. He has a Canadian accent, though it's subtle, only emerging when he speaks a language besides English.

➤ Misc

His androgynous looks makes it so that it's not uncommon for others to mistake him for a female at first, which he doesn't particularly mind. In fact, he'll even occasionally play along and pretend that he's the opposite gender.

:heavy_check_mark: Abilities :heavy_check_mark:

` ` ` ` ` `

➤ Physical abilities

Despite his thin frame, he has good endurance, as a result of his spectacular control over his breathing and lungs. This ability also allows him to closely imitate many different breathing conditions, including but not limited to: death, asthma attacks, and fatigue. He can also hold his breath for quite a long time; at the moment, his record is 11 minutes and 25 seconds. He's good at making being completely inconspicuous. Felis, however, is in a constant state of tiredness. He is not particularly strong either.

Surprisingly enough, despite his listening to loud music whenever possible, to make up for his weaker and more sensitive sight, he has exceptional hearing. His vision isn't too bad; both eyes are -1.00. However, before entering the asylum, he would occasionally don a pair of red glasses.

➤ Mental abilities

His language skills are fairly good. When bored, he'll interchange between French and English. However, he excels the most when it comes to the arts, more specifically, music. He absolutely abhors anything related to numbers, and will becoming increasingly distraught, eventually even snapping if made to do anything related to numbers for a long period of time. Despite this, he's actually fairly intelligent and is capable of easily deducing things. He can solve problems without much difficulty, math included.

"If I, who has such good memory, can't it, then it couldn't have possibly happened."

:heavy_check_mark: History :heavy_check_mark:

` ` ` ` ` `

Growing up, Felis lived in a fairly normal family. They were of the middle class; as such, him and his brother were able to go to school and even participate in some extracurriculars on the side. Contrary to most families, it was his mother who took the leading role in the house. His father's job was unpredictable, and so most of her family's income came from her mother. When he was nine, an intruder entered his school and unluckily, chose the hall he was in as his target. There were eleven casualties before the intruder was stopped, two of which were classmates that Felis happened to be walking with when the attack happened. He himself sustained a bullet wound on the side of his head, alongside other injuries. Shortly afterwards, he found himself unable to sleep properly, taking hours to fall unconscious only to be woken up a few minutes later, unable to fall back asleep. Weeks of improper sleep and trauma caused a drastic change in his mannerisms.

Week by week, he became more careless, ignoring the concerns and requests of others. His appetite decreased, and he shut himself in his dark room more and more often in a desperate attempt to sleep. At his mother's insistence, when he was eleven, he was brought to a therapist named Dr. Lou. Every session consisted of Dr. Lou asking questions about the event that occurred when he was nine, drawing out memories he had tried to repress. Every week, he would pretend to not , distracting himself from the therapist's prompts by doing mental math. Upon his therapist's suggestion, he took up violin, citing how music helped soothe the mind.

Finally, after months of fruitless sessions, his mother decided to sit in on one and help contribute to what she thought was her son's 'weak' memory. Together, the two forcefully brought the memories back onto the surface. And that was when he realized that he didn't repress those memories out of fear of a repeat of the event. No; he repressed them because he was afraid of the excitement he had from experiencing that event. Once he realized this, his fear of that excitement sunk back into hiding, fooling him into believing that he had gotten over it. For a while, Felis became who he used to be again, mind cleared. The therapy sessions stopped. However, his longing to experience that same sort of excitement did not. His underlying fear prevented him from committing any sort of direct physical violence, however, that did not stop him from finding other forms of entertainment.

He was thirteen when began to find 'fun' things to do. He would bring his (at the time) seven year old brother with him as he sat on train tracks, only getting off seconds before it arrived. He stole small trinkets from his classmates, and switched them around. He listened quietly to private conversations that his teachers would have, and would then leave notes around with certain interesting and choice phrases that he heard. He tied his family's cat up and crammed it into a small pot to see how long it'd take for his family to notice. While he was rarely caught, whenever he was, it usually resulted in his moving to a new school. Dr. Lou was brought back, and his treatment continued where it had left off.

His insomnia never got better until he turned sixteen, when he attended a party and found his mind, distracted by the music blaring all around, was bothered enough to let him fall asleep.

A year later, his brother stopped following his around, refusing to go out with him whenever Felis wanted to do something new. Without his brother around, there was no longer anything holding him back or reminding him from staying out for longer periods of time. He neglected his studies, not out of lack of intelligence, but out of lack of interest and diligence. He failed his final year of high school, to which his mother greatly disapproved of. Felis was kept from leaving house except to go to school for the following year, though that didn't stop him from finding other things to do from within the house. After three months of no progress, his mother became even more strict, forcing Felis to study for hours on end, sometimes as much as 10, to which she said was reasonable due to Felis' inability to sleep anyways. Constantly under supervision, and hardly even able to leave the house except to attend school and see his therapist, it wasn't long until he couldn't take it anymore.

One night, after having disabled the carbon monoxide detector, he gathered all the work he had and bringing all the sheets to his parent's room, set them on fire while his parents slept. He casually watched as the flames rose. It wasn't long until both his parents woke up, sputtering and surrounded by smoke and fire. The situation was quickly handled, just as he had expected considering his mother's occupation. He had no actual intention to kill either of his parents in the first place; he knew they'd be able to survive the fire no matter what.

It was this act, however, that finally pushed his mother to send Felis to the asylum, to which he stays in to this day. He continues believes himself to be perfectly normal and sane, and only went along with his mother's decision because he wanted to see what it would be like living in an asylum.

Now, he only re what he wants.

:heavy_check_mark: Relations :heavy_check_mark:

` ` ` ` ` `

➤ Jatt Wells

Jatt is his younger brother. He's currently 15. Even before arriving at the asylum, their relationship was a shaky one. Felis would constantly try to rope Jatt into strange and even dangerous activities. When that wasn't taking place, he'd stay in the dark of his room all the time, ignoring him in favour of his music. Jatt has since lost all respect for his older brother, deciding to pretend that he doesn't even know him. He follows the every word of their mother, for the same reason as their father: for fear of becoming a disappointment.

➤ Christine Wells

The mother of Jatt and Felis, she's the one who decided that the asylum was the best option for her son. She's a commandeering woman who can't stand for anything less than perfection. As such, it was her shame and rage towards her son that led to the latter's displacement. Christine works as a firefighter.

➤ Jared Hamel

The father of Jatt and Felis, he only agreed to send his oldest son to the asylum after being pressured to agree by his wife, Christine. He occasionally calls to speak with Felis, but he has never visited him due to his fear of disappointing Christine. He is the only one in the family who doesn't think of Felis as if he had never existed. Jared works as a video editor in a small film group.
