« OVERALL PERSONALITY »
Aaron deviates from the norm on how an officer tends to be. He places emphasis on the need to adapt to changing circumstances, embracing creativity and innovation. His leadership style differs from most others. He often preaches about thinking for oneself, and actively encourages others to improve his strategies, improvise, and even question his orders or actions. Contrary to structure and adherence to protocol, he tends to look the other way with and even encourages breaking the rules as long as there is benefit in the end. In of accomplishing his main goals, he is quite cunning in their conduct.
« NOTE(S) »
Aaron earned the moniker “Omen” not due to anything badass. Ironically, he was given this nickname by peers because apparently he brought bad luck to any squads he was in at the time. Aaron ended up appropriating this as his callsign.

« COMBAT STYLE »
Brains over brawn. Aaron is a technical combatant that uses his armament and skills to exploit openings and/or set up attacks, prioritizing the use of deception and strategy. When part of a team, he functions as a “playmaker,” opening up opportunities for offense and filling in gaps for defense via assists. To make a long story short, Aaron sees the battlefield as a game of chess where outmaneuvering is the key to victory.

«| Long Form Backstory |»
EARLY LIFE
Aaron was born on the planet Kaidani, an urban Frontier planet which was a massive trade hub. His father was a Militia soldier, one of its earliest , his mother your stereotypical stay-at-home mom. Aaron rarely saw his father as a child, mainly due to him fighting battles often. Because of this, he would have to start taking care of himself. Four years after he was born, his mother gave birth to his younger brother Adam.
The family lived in a condo dead smack in the middle of the seventh district of Kaidani. Said condo was completely paid off. The seventh district was essentially the slums, where crime was rampant and the authorities turned a blind eye to many things. Aaron’s mother would spend her time taking care of his younger brother, leaving Aaron to be independent. As his mother told him, since he was the oldest, he should be the one to shoulder the most responsibility. But as soon as Adam came of age to go to school, his mother also told him she’d start looking for work, leaving him to take care of Adam.
In elementary school, Aaron had little to no friends. He would find himself getting into fights often. Sometimes he would come out on top, sometimes he would get his ass handed to him by kids that were bigger and stronger. His lack of parental involvement in his childhood due to his mother working late into the night made him Adam’s caretaker and caused him to develop a sense of emotional detachment.
As Adam and Aaron grew older, towards the end of elementary, the two would see their father again. This was an incredibly rare occurrence where he came back, due to being deployed across the Frontier fighting the IMC. Aaron knew the reason why he returned, the reason being to see his mother. He never really had much of a relationship with his father. Hell, he barely knew who he was, so his reaction was pretty apathetic. He never understood anything at the time. A decent amount of time later, his second brother Aiden was born. You can probably guess how. This was the start of problems with Aaron’s family. After childbirth, Aaron’s mother started to have health problems, and she slowly got weaker and weaker. And eventually, around six months later, she ed. This was a crushing blow, especially to Adam. However, Aaron had to move on. His youngest brother was an infant, and his younger brother was still somewhat naive due to being under his wing. Not only that, but he (Adam) wasn’t in the right state of mind due to his mother’s ing. Their father probably didn’t even his children existed. It was around this time Aaron decided he wanted to get out of the hole his family lived in. His main goal would be to secure the legacy of his younger siblings. However, in order to sustain their lives, he had to make money to his siblings. Thus, he turned to crime, keeping it petty enough so that he wouldn’t be hauled in. He stole, deceived, lied, shoplifted, and cunningly did what he had to do in order to survive.
As for his school performance, he was doing very badly. The teachers? They didn’t particularly care about his situation. In school, Aaron was by no means popular, neither was he unpopular. When he showed up, he was someone that actually did well. His grades were failing, though, mainly because he never showed up half the time. He had only one or two “friends,” people he used to blend in, and for that reason. Three years later, at the age of 14, Aaron became an emancipated minor. This would mean that he was on his own. And because of this, he became a legal guardian. Foster care was questionable, and if judges could turn a blind eye to many things, this was certainly possible. The revelation he made after this was: School, it didn’t teach much. He was better off educating himself. Aaron spent whatever free time he could educating himself in order to help him fit in more. Simultaneously, he had to take care of his younger siblings. Deciding school wasn’t for him, he would decide to drop out. And because of this, he could focus on himself more. Traditional education wasn’t for him, so self-education was the better option. He learned a lot from self-study, frequently visiting the public library in order to read, read, and read (and utilize the Internet to augment). It was through this that Aaron found various subjects he was interested in, such as business, economics, psychology, and sociology. Even though he wasn’t in school, his literacy level and knowledge sured his peers, who were in school. Being the father figure in the family, he would also teach what he had learned to his siblings. The one thing Aaron was missing were technical skills. Thus, he figured ing up was the easiest option.
Aaron ended up ing up with the Militia at the age of 17. Because they were still a ragtag group at the time, compared to IMC training the Militia’s training was different. Right after training, everyone in the unit was going to be placed in the same company. Aaron’s unit leader gave everyone in his unit a nickname. His was “Private Prettyboy,” because of the beauty mark underneath his right eye. Aaron initially kept to himself until he met Private Seth “Blondie” (being the only guy with blonde hair in the unit) Hansen. After a bullying incident with a few guys in the unit where Seth defended himself, Aaron reached out to him. Seth was the son of a formerly wealthy family who had lost their fortune and company. Their goals were strikingly similar in the sense that both wanted to get out of rock bottom. After graduating from basic training, the two would be deploying soon. Aaron used the interim time to send all the pay he had accumulated to his siblings back home. He also spent whatever time he could with them over video messaging.
On his very first deployment, Aaron was placed in a squad of five others from boot camp. Bad intel from the higher-ups put their lives in danger on the front lines, causing Aaron to become the sole survivor in the battle’s aftermath. Him surviving was seen as a sign of bad luck for others, and he was nicknamed “Omen” as a result. That first deployment was during the very end of the campaign at the time. Soon after, the unit was transferred to a different planet, one with lush green forests and grassy plains.
ING THE DAHLIAS
Not long after the setting change, Aaron would be scouted by a man belonging to a grunt unit called the 37th Commando Unit, otherwise known as the “Black Dahlias”. Aaron was only 18, and confused as to why the man wanted to recruit him. The man, Captain Joshua Caglia, was an ex-IMC grunt. He was in his mid to late 40s, being a veteran of the Titan Wars. He was putting together a unit of soldiers who would act as commandos in the field, due to Pilots being a rarity in this campaign. While everyone else was experienced in their own right, Aaron was someone with barely any experience. Nevertheless, Aaron would accept the offer to . It was at this moment where he parted ways with Seth, albeit the two would keep in touch still through various means.
In this unit, Aaron’s skills and attributes would receive a massive boost. For instance, he learned more advanced forms of combat and even how to repair a Titan (Gen 1) in the case he wanted to become a Pilot later on. He had plenty of others teach him various tips and tricks on how to be a more skilled soldier. Aaron would remain with the Black Dahlias for 3-4 years, soaking up plenty of experience and even earning a battlefield commission along the way, until it disbanded due to the death of several of its . Demeter happened within this time period, and Aaron was not present for any of it. It was also around this time where Adam stated to Aaron that he wanted to , but Aaron told him to hold off on it until Aiden was older. Once the unit had officially been broken up, Aaron’s captain would refer him to Lieutenant Colonel Demetri Lovelace, an SRS Pilot who was one of his former captain’s connections. Captain Caglia would retire from duty shortly after this due to two reasons: One, he was deemed unfit for combat. Two, he was getting old, and the Militia wanted more young blood, so he was not a priority.
Aaron ended up being stationed on the planet Xenobia-II, which housed a Militia (formerly IMC) base, complete with on-base housing. It was here where the entire family was reunited again, and where the Lieutenant Colonel was stationed, because Xenobia-II was where soldiers stopped before deploying on battles.
Upon meeting the Lt. Col, Aaron found that upon first impression Demetri was a crabby old man. He initially refused to take Aaron as his mentee, but eventually consented. Reason being, everyone turned into a yes-man in order to try and get him to teach them. Aaron was different, instead accepting the rejection and moving on. It turned out Colonel Lovelace was an effective teacher. Aaron’s Pilot training wasn’t your stereotypical training where you were placed with other candidates in an entire group. Everything was one-on-one. Aside from training, the Colonel would often impart valuable lessons from his own experience. He encouraged Aaron to learn from the past while creating his future. Under his tutelage, Aaron would study the history and philosophy of both factions in order to understand the motivations of both sides. Evaluations of training from the Lt. Colonel noted that Aaron scored particularly high in fluid reasoning. His biggest asset was his adaptability, and it was honed as much as it could during training to be a Pilot. Aaron eventually received his certificates, but there was one final test in order for him to truly complete his training.
For Aaron’s final test as a Pilot, he was to 1v4 other Pilots in a simulated survival situation with no rules, winning by either surviving until the timer went out or eliminating all four Pilots. The battle took place in a swampy forest setting with a “cat and mouse” scenario. Their goal was to hunt him down. Aaron managed to eliminate three of the four before the timer ran out. He had ed, and was quickly issued a Titan. It was the Generation 1 Atlas platform, with the standard-issue equipment (XO-16, Vortex Shield, Rocket Salvo) and was known as ML-3287. This specific Atlas model was a lemon, and required constant work and upkeep to keep it going. Nevertheless, it taught Aaron the value of taking care of one’s Titan, extending to his gear. He didn’t get the luxury of what Titan he could pick, so he had to make do with what he had.
As a Pilot of a Pre-Demeter Titan pitted up against the newer Post-Demeter Titans, it made no difference. Aaron found out much of the newer IMC Pilots being churned out lacked knowledge of the capabilities of the Pre-Demeter chassis, such as self-regenerating shields, which he used to his advantage. He cut his teeth by deploying several times alongside his mentor, learning from him more while in combat. Gradually, Aaron began to adopt the way he fought, incorporating it into his own way of fighting. Demetri encouraged the latter, stating that Aaron shouldn’t be a carbon copy of himself. Until one day, disaster almost struck. Entering doomed state, Aaron attempted to eject from his Titan, but the ejection handle did not work. He was lucky enough to be saved by a friendly Pilot who had opened up a path to GTFO. Manually opening the top hatch, Aaron dashed away from his Titan until it finally gave out. He then decided to repay the favor by acting as via AT weaponry and rodeo attacks. In the end, the battle ended in a Militia victory. Another near-death experience, but Lady Luck struck again. It was here where another revelation came to Aaron: He definitely wasn’t normal. When it came to life and death, he understood fully what it meant. However, he failed to recognize the severity of what it was. It was something hard to explain.
The result after? Reprimanded for disobeying orders to retreat. Colonel Lovelace, instead of getting mad at him, decided to reward him. He was going to retire shortly, and decided to give his Vanguard Titan, Genesis, over to Aaron, fully initiating him into the SRS. The true reason the Colonel gave him his Titan was because he was investing in Aaron’s future as a soldier. He was now a full-fledged SRS Pilot. This event gave Aaron’s younger brother Adam the inspiration to sign up, wanting to be like him.
[INTERIM]
Aaron would spend time being deployed on different fronts. During this time, he would end up learning more about military strategy. He had a general idea of it from his mentor, but he wished to further develop this skill. As he did this, Aaron became notorious for both his actions against the wishes of command and challenging the status quo. In his mind, he was simply taking initiative. While it did get him in trouble with many commanders, most refused to penalize him. This was because every time he decided to break the rules, he made sure it produced results, results beneficial to the Militia. Said commanders couldn’t argue with that. Aaron was already disillusioned about the higher ups, and this was more fuel to the fire. Apparently Command cared more about following the rules than actually producing results. There were two ways to change this: Get rid of the people above, or educate the people below. The latter would be the more viable option.
A year after gaining Genesis, Captain Aaron transferred to the planet Theta-Chi, a planet in the remote regions of the Frontier. His objective was to assist in the Militia campaign of clearing the planet of IMC influence, known as Operation Jungle Runner. Upon his arrival, the IMC remnants were holding out strong, and both sides were locked in a stalemate despite the IMC being inferior in numbers and territory. A shortage of officer figures in this region meant that Aaron was one of the highest ranking personnel, which gave him freedom to move as he wished.
With the opportunities Aaron was given throughout his career in the Militia, he wanted to pay it forward. Thus, Aaron would station himself towards the front of the fighting, at FOB Foxtrot-Uniform, nicknamed FOB “Eff-You” because of its name, as well being stationed there was a big F you from command. Reading through several files of Militia Pilots, they were hand-picked based not on their latent abilities, but their potential. In other words, he basically picked a bunch of misfit Pilots to have them realize their potential. A very young female Pilot who ed up at 16, a lazy-minded medic, a shy Simulacrum, a fresh-as-grass Pilot, and an average Joe. The five of them were known as Team Misfit. These five Pilots, all within the similar age group as him, would end up under his direct command. He would train them and lead missions with them. While Aaron felt obligated to pay it forward, this decision doubled as an experiment to see if his abilities to teach others were adequate. His main lesson to his team was the ability to think for themselves. Blindly following orders was wrong, and one should not heed to rigid and uncompromising commanders. Team Misfit proved Aaron right to an extent; while his ability to teach was generally positive (because he simply taught them what he was taught), there were moments where he did have to improve.
While the campaign at Theta-Chi was successful and led to a Militia victory, there was an incident with a Titan weapon known as the “Disruptor Cannon.” It was an experimental weapon designed to disable Titans, forcing a lengthy reboot process. It was especially dangerous to Titans with a neural link. Thankfully such a treacherous weapon and blueprints were destroyed; attempts to fully replicate it never succeeded. Unfortunately, Aaron was one of many who fell victim to this weapon. The neural link with his Titan was disrupted which caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. Had the weapon been at full charge, he would have been left in a vegetative state. He had many “high” points, now this was the big “low” point in his career and life.
Unable to move aside from turning his head, Aaron would be bedridden for some time. It seemed like it was game over for him. Pursual of his goals, all for nothing. But what would fate have in store for him next?
REBIRTH
Still a cripple, he would be approached with an offer by a Militia General. An offer to restore him on the condition of agreeing to some experimental augmentations. Being in the state he was, Aaron saw no choice but to accept. Reborn both physically and mentally, Aaron got to work. This was a big break in his career, as he had the endorsement of a high-ranking figure. Deeming Aaron “needed a break,” he was allowed three months of leave.
Aaron looked back at his original goal, and reaffirmed it. It was time to start making more money on the side. Using the skills he gained from his experiences, Aaron would spend his time offering his services to mercenaries by providing strategies and planning for operations and bounties they were going to do. All of this in exchange for a cut of their profits. Many of his clients were freelancers, the majority of which lacked experience in his field. However, what many of said freelancers did not expect was that Aaron would end up stabbing them in the back. He would end up disposing of most of them in order to take their credits and extract their funds for himself. He did not indiscriminately target, as it would be bad for maintaining his image. Aaron limited this to those who were on the more psychotic and volatile side, as they were generally disliked by most. To prevent anyone from picking up patterns, he was quite limited with who he would target. Besides, many turn a blind eye to some random freelancer dying for some random reason. Everything was off the books, something he did of his own volition. This would evolve into enemy mercenaries he had personally captured; Aaron would extract their funds too before leaving them up to fate, whether by his hands or another.
Aaron was not present during the events of Typhon. Rather, while the Militia fleets were on the offensive somewhere else, a separate IMC fleet, just enough to be an invasion force, broke through Militia lines, and if they dug in on one of the Frontier worlds, it’d be hard to get them out. It was not even two weeks when Aaron was pulled off his leave just to do this. Once he deployed, his first objective was to reinforce troops that were already on the ground and push. It turns out that once he had landed on the ground it was just him and a Militia Lieutenant. She was an Ion Pilot, new and eager to prove herself. In this campaign, known as Operation Iron Shield, forces were relatively scattered across the planet where the IMC had just so decided to make themselves comfy. Even though Aaron was a few years older than the Lieutenant, he would take on a mentorship role to her throughout the duration of the campaign, imparting the knowledge and wisdom he accumulated to provide her with practical guidance and to prepare her for challenges ahead. While a shorter campaign than normal, Operation Iron Shield ended up another success; IMC forces had been routed.
With the campaign over, Aaron was rewarded with a promotion to Major. It was also around this time he found out his youngest brother Aiden was also going to up. Apparently, g up ran in the family. Now, Aaron has already received the details of his next assignment. However, he has down time till then.

Genesis, a Vanguard class Titan, sports a minimalist look of charcoal mixed with gray. No nose art and no weapon camo contribute to this further, as the goal is to not attract attention.

« TITAN SERVICE TAG »
GS-5195 (Golf Sierra Five One Nine Five)
« TITAN NAME »
Genesis, Gen (for short)
« AI »
Genesis, or Gen, as Aaron calls his Titan, is a very inquisitive Titan, taking after his Pilot before Aaron. While ive of his current Pilot, Genesis also challenges him from time to time, for instance in beliefs or methods. When in combat, the two can coordinate easily without words or due to the strength of their link. Gen has even developed his own “fighting style,” using from both of his Pilots, former and present, to construct it.

【SERVICE】

« DATE OF CREATION »

« EARLY SERVICE »
Part of the first batch of Vanguards off the assembly line, it was initially given to Demetri Lovelace, a hardened veteran belonging to the SRS, as a reward for his longtime service. Demetri named GS “Genesis” after the Bible book of the same name. The two would go on to serve for several deployments, often back-to-back. They were a fearsome duo to be reckoned with, because as they say, “Beware of old men in a profession where men die young.”
« MIDLIFE »
Severing the link with Genesis, Demetri would Genesis to Aaron as a parting gift before retiring from old age. The two formed a strong bond with each other right off the bat, due to Aaron’s familiarity with Genesis thanks to Demetri being his mentor.
« PRESENT »
Genesis is still linked with Aaron to this day, the two having ample time to strengthen their compatibility. The latter states should he ever fall in combat, he’d rather give Genesis over to someone he trusts than have him be assigned to some random soldier.

« RELATIONSHIP »
It can be seen that Aaron and Genesis have a powerful bond with each other, even more with the two having served alongside each other before their linkage. He is the first and only Titan to bring Aaron a sense of attachment to a Titan in general. Genesis can be someone Aaron can count on, whether in combat or as a trusted confidant/advisor.

Not bad.
More OCs to come in the future (I hope). Anyways, presentation is probably not the best but yeah.
