24 hours later
Inside a mostly rundown IMC facility, there's someone lying down on a bed in a makeshift infirmary. A doctor is seen making sure the patient is still stable, but his movements and gestures suggest frustration at the lack of proper equipment. As he goes to leave the room briefly, the patient suddenly jolts to consciousness. She seems to be on edge and is constantly changing where she's looking until her eyes on lock on the doctor.
The doctor seems to have a look of relief on his face when he turns around after hearing her move. When the patient locks her eyes on him, he sees they're almost a crimson red in color. After recollecting himself, the doctor speaks.
Doctor: You're finally aw-
Patient: Where am I? And who are you?
The patient interrupts before the doctor finishes. His face flashes a brief scowl before he speaks again.
Doctor: You're currently in an abandoned IMC facility that we've commandeered for temporary use. As for who I am; I'm just a medic that's been working with the others here for a few months. Despite not having the proper training for it, they still call me Doctor anyway.
The patient lets what he says sink in before asking another question.
Patient: And who's "we?"
Doctor: Well, just about everyone currently in the facility, which numbers to around 15 people. Including yourself. We're all mostly IMC-
Patient: IMC?
The patient suddenly becomes aggressive at that and gets out of bed. She pushes the doctor out of the way, which causes him to fall over. As she moved throughout the rundown facility, she noted that the doctor wasn't lying that there aren't very many people here. All the easier to eliminate these IMC scum she thinks to herself as she tries to find where her gear was put.
Eventually manages to avoid being found long enough to find the makeshift armory these people have been using. She looked around in it for a few before she finds her gear and puts it on as quickly as she can. She also takes a Wingman Elite and some clips for it. She hears people walking by and quickly mutters something to herself.
Patient: Come on, Kat. You got this.
Kat continues listening to the footsteps, and once they're far enough away, she tries to move out of the armory. Just as Kat does she hears a set of footsteps that are notably heavier sounding than the others. Yet, it seems to move just as fast, if not just a tiny bit slower than the previous ones.
Kat: Maybe a stalker? No, that can't be it.
Before Kat can figure it out the thing she was listening to enters the armory. To which allows her to see it's a person in dark colored pilot gear. As she watches him move throughout the armory, almost definitely looking for her, she notices there's remnants of an IMC insignia on his shoulder, but it was mostly ripped off at some point. Kat quietly mutters to herself.
Kat: Ripped off?
The pilot looks in her direction, but he soon looks away when he doesn't see anything. He eventually gets to where Kat's gear was located and speaks with a russian accent.
Pilot: She's definitely been here.
He reaches for his walkie-talkie and speaks into it
Czar: Czar to doc. Seems she's gotten to her gear. This'll be a big problem if we can't explain that we defected from the IMC.
Doctor: [static crackling] Just try to find her as soon as possible before this situation gets worse.
Czar: Already on it. Czar out.
Czar puts the walkie-talkie on his shoulder and walks to the door. Kat sighs in relief, but Czar suddenly stops moving and turns around right in the doorway. He starts speaking
Czar: I know you're here. You can come out
Kat tenses up. She doesn't know if she can trust what she heard him say. Yet it does line up with the ripped off insignia. Despite her mind screaming not to Kat reveals herself, but she is aiming the Wingman Elite at Czar as she does.
Czar: Smart to not trust those you don't know. It's even smarter to not fully trust those you do as well. Considering you were left for dead at that Militia facility.
Kat doesn't lower her weapon, but does have pieces of memories come back to her of being in the middle of a battle in her titan before going unconscious.
Kat: Give me one reason not to shoot you.
Czar chuckles at the threat.
Czar: Feel free as it wasn't my idea to rescue you. I don't know what Kaio was thinking as we barely have enough for those we already travel with. We especially don't have any for trouble makers like you.
Kat: Why you?!
Before either of them can do anything, a radio in the armory starts crackling. Czar, seeming to be confused by this, moves towards the radio. The radio eventually clears up to a heavily modulated voice.
Unknown Voice: Kaio? Kaio, you there?
Czar takes a few seconds to respond, but eventually does
Czar: Kaio is currently on a mission. This is Czar. Who is this?
Unknown Voice: Shit, this is horrible timing. This is urgent. There are IMC forces on their way to "salvage" that facility you're holed up in. You need to get out of there soon.
Czar immediately seems to start shaking at the mention of the IMC being on their way. Yet responds
Czar: I guess I'll have to notify Kaio we're having to vacate. Though you didn't give me a name on who you are.
It takes a few seconds before the voice responds
Unknown Voice: ...Lowmin. Tell Kaio that name, and he'll understand
The radio goes silent, but Czar is already out of the room and yelling.
Czar: Alright, everyone, pack it up. IMC forces are on the way, and we need to be clear before they arrive.
Grunt: What about Kaio?
Czar: I'll make sure he knows.
As everyone packs up what they need into the two goblins they have, they hear ships outside of the facility. Kat eventually steps out into the bay as the ships are heard.
Czar: Seems we didn't get the message in time. Everyone drop what you're doing and get on the ships to leave. Now! You too.
Czar points at Kat. She begrudgingly starts moving towards the two goblins even though she clearly wants to fight. As the last of the IMC defectors get on, Czar moves over to Kat to get her to the ship faster. Just as they're about to be on shots from a volt stops them in their tracks. Czar looks over and sees a red stim simulacrum pilot with the letters ST on his left leg.
"ST": Not so fast
