tension. in the air, surrounding, engulfing him and i. i pleaded with him but he does not yield his position. we’re just friends. nothing more, nothing less.

i always assumed we could be together one day when we were old enough. in the movies, the two gay guys always get together. we’re two gay guys. it like fate or something.

or something was correct. something meant nothing. together we were best friends, but /together/ we were nothing. to me we were much more but to him, i was just another pal. i was trapped in the friendzone and this man had no care in his heart to pull me out.

when we were little he would ask me “daniel, if i don’t marry someone else and you don’t marry someone else, will you marry me?” but now i don’t want him to try and marry someone else.

and this is what started the flooding tension, destroying a relationship which had been so strong. and to make matters worse, today was the day he /was/ getting married to someone else.

the most picturesque couple; dylan and philip. they were asked to model on brochures for our college and asked to do diversity talks. of course, even though i was out no one wanted me. i was a lonely gay man. no one wants that. they wanted a young couple, shining, bright, and happy.

we could’ve been that, but instead of cutting the tension, he cut my heart out.
