what’s in a rainbow? a suspensful beginning and a tragic end? or is it the cherished, bright middle section? colorful and radient, glowing. bringinf light to those whose gaze falls upon its beauty and does not wish the ending to come. those who romantacize about a golden, lush ending when the reality is far worse. the ending is dark, stripped of color, texture, and radiance. all beauty lost to the ground, swallowed by the earth and mother nature’s green.

life is a rainbow. we aren’t brought into this world willingly. for me, i wasn’t even planned. i appeared like a rainbow, and i never knew i would blossom into one. i every metaphorical and symbole meaning of the word itself.

a rainbow is many thing which i also relate to. a rainbow is gentle, soft and bright, kind. i would also describe myself as those words. gentle as a piano which i often endulge myself in playing in my home and for other. soft as a choralw, but bright as a waltz. kind as the pieces whose meanings are to be interpreted by each to their own. where one might feel the pull of a dance, others might feel the push of a loss.

a rainbow is also gay. in both meanings of the word. happy and homosexual. for some, a rainbow means hatred - those who do not believe people should love others of their same gender. this is incorrect for me. i am gay. i am a happy homosexual. i am a rainbow. i wear a smile on my face and pride in my heart. i stand tall like a rainbow. showering everyone with kindess and color.

but it must rain before a rainbow can emerge. and my parents, they were rainbow haters. when i told them of my pride they didn’t want me. they washed away my colors, stripped me of my pride. but i did not let them take away my sunshine. my brigtness. i found myself. i am bright and independent. i watch over everyone, including myself.
