The Unexpected Ally Chapter 1

In the height of the war, there is a young teenage girl who is suddenly forced into the world of politics from her normal calm life on the planet of Corulag. Ozanka Mosbree must live it to her father's standards of a politician. Her father is the one and only Arcel Mosbree. She will accompany a Senator by the name of Zafiel Snoops to the heart of the Republic for a call for help for their system. A heavily needed supply line that gives Corulag their supplies is being blocked... Some traumatic events will change Ozanka's life forever. She and an unexpected ally will have to team up to make it out alive. This all starts on a not-so-hot morning on the planet Courscant at around 7 am.

In the warm morning hours on Courscant, a nice cool breeze blew through the windows of Ozanka Mosbree's room. But as she clung onto the wisps of her slumber and horrid screeching noise woke her from the sweet embrace of her slumber. Groaning she slowly got up and slammed her hand down on the offending object. The luscious brown locks slowly fell out of the low braid that encased the unruly locks. Her hair was released from its confines, the stray pieces fell and stopped at her hips with waves that rivaled the oceans, and maybe she might’ve fantasized about having nice straight locks but with the weight of her thick hair, the waves of her hair stayed preserved and unmoving. Usually to conquer such a feat as styling her unruly hair she sought out help from her good friend Pé Amidala. But today, despite all of what the gods told her she decided to conquer her hair on her own.

Ozanka Mosbree finally decided to get a start on getting ready for the new world she has been thrown into without any guidance or any teaching. She was preparing to represent her people of the planet Corulag on this fine morning but the threat of war on Courscant weighed on everyone's mind. She thought she had everything but she was missing the most important thing she was needing for today... Her pretty flowing elegant dress! While every senator in the Republic was preparing for a monotonous senate meeting, she found herself frantically searching for her dress which was like finding a needle in a haystack at the moment. She quickly went to the cold metal door that lead to her spacious room to find a grey-colored droid there with a box that was meant for dresses.

Ozanka looked at the droid. "Is that /my/ dress?" she asked frantically as she was already a hot mess on her first day.

The droid gave the frantic young girl the elegant dress that she was needing for the meeting that was only a few hours away.

Ozanka got her aquamarine-colored dress with white sleeves and golden-colored lines and an intricate design pattern. The white sleeves were a lovely flowing type sleeve that was under aquamarine sleeves that had the gold intricate design and they rested above her white sleeves. The tall boots that she wore only for special occasions were white with a golden intricate design on them as well. The golden color in her outfit lightly shimmered in the light. The young teenage girl from Corulag had to live up to her father's amazing political legacy which was a lot of pressure. She believed that she could handle the new light of being a politician like her father. She was needing to make her people proud of her and show she can step up and be like her father. Ozanka finally completes her beautiful and mature look to impress the old stubborn stuck in their old way senators that say young senators don't know how to handle themselves. There was a calm knock on the cold metal door that lead to her room.

Senator Zafiel Snopps was waiting outside the metal door for the young senator. This was the biggest meeting they will ever be in for their planet. The meeting couldn't have happened at the worst time for his people as there was something heavily blocking their supply lines. He walked into the large spacious decently warm room once he was allowed in. He was in a similar outfit to Bail Organa but he wore it in all black to symbolize his sophistication, the formality of how he handles things, and not to mention the power that he holds. His short jet black hair was slicked back and looked perfect in every way. He gently kissed Ozanka's head while being careful that he didn't mess up her luscious brown hair. Ozanka's hair was in almost perfect waves that rivaled the oceans on their multi-terrain homeworld. There was an unbreakable bond between the two of them and it formed after a traumatic event that affected both of them. Arcel had left Zafiel in charge of keeping his daughter safe and being the uncle she desperately needed in her life.

Zafiel smile down at Ozanka. "Are you ready to go to your first ever Republic senate meeting in person?" He asked while he knew just how nervous she was to be in front of a lot of people.

Oznaka tried to put on the brave face she makes whenever she is trying something brand new. "I mean... I think I am ready to go to represent our people." She said timidly as she just wanted this whole entire situation over.

Oznaka and Zafiel walk down the long brightly lit gray corridor together like uncle and niece to where this life-changing meeting will be held to decide the fate of their people. When they arrived at the senate hall, there was some type of commotion that was happening near the doors of the Senate. It was as if there had been a threat. The people just dismissed it as a scare tactic to rile them up before the meeting. Oznaka took the threat very seriously while Zafiel didn't think it was all that serious but still had some concern. It showed just how cautious Oznaka became after being up close to the war when she was younger. The young senator listened to the strong brash words of the wiser and older senators who disdained the younger ones. Word started to spread rapidly amongst the senators that there are shocking rumors of a new biochemical being used by Separatist spies that only infect civilians with a breakneck and fatal disease. This shocking revelation caused the atmosphere to be tense and even fearful among all the senators. With the Senate being as chaotic as it normally is they decided to have their regularly scheduled meeting in the morning.

The most unpleasant and mundane senate meeting to ever attend at nine o'clock in the morning. The entire senate was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop until Chancellor Palpatine started talking about the war effort that has been met with a disaster. Every senator and citizen that was able to listen to the Chancellor could hear the frustration in his voice as he spoke in such a manner that everyone knew just how serious this was getting. The tensions between senators started to intensify instantaneously. There was only one person in the room the Palpatine started to see as a threat and that was the senators of Corulag. The main person that felt like a threat to him was poor little Ozanka who was proving to be nothing like her outspoken father in politics but she had a heart of fire and ion for her people that was about to be revealed soon.

Ozanka looked at Palpatine with her gorgeous rare hazel eyes glistening in the light of the senate. She didn't exactly believe everything he was saying especially when he brought up her homeworld system. Everyone in the senate can feel the atmosphere around the exhibit some type of frustration and anger towards a very important person in the room but no one dared to stop the girl if she dares spoke a word to the Chancellor and argue with him. They saw it to be a learning lesson for the young girl that is being forced to fill her father's role in the senate while he is away talking with the Separatists to lift up their blockade in the lovely Bormea sector. Zafiel knew there wasn't much he can do if she decides to argue but he tried his best to keep her temper under control until they were allowed to speak. It was only a matter of time before this young girl will reveal the one thing Palpatine refused to inform anyone about including the GAR. Ozanka pressed a button once Palpatine was done talking so her strong voice for her people would be heard.

"If you care so much about your allies you would notice the Bormea sector is under a massive Separatist blockade. We have no supplies or weapons because of the blockade. My people are suffering and dying due to your negligence of the Bormea Sector. We need something to help my people survive because no negations with the Techno Union are helping us out. My people and I are asking you to send some type of help to give my people a chance to survive this blockade. They are planning to land on my planet and enslave my people.”

The entire senate grew quiet after she spoke with such authority and power as well as a ion for her people and their situation. Palpatine carefully thought about what they should do before having the senate elect the next course of action. The only noises they could hear were whispers from some senators. Ozanka hoped there was someone in this senate that could help her out with this situation. Her hope was slowly fading away but she tried to keep a straight face. She couldn't control her tears anymore as her tears ran down her soft pale skin. Zafiel wiped the tears away to help her remain strong and prove that she can handle all of this stress.

The Zeltron senators looked toward young Ozanka as they knew what it was like to not get the of the Senate. They could tell just how desperate she was to get her people what they needed to survive. Their senator expressed his concern for Corulag as he knew what it felt like to be in a massive blockade. The only issue was how they could get some supplies to the heavily outnumbered ally who looked to be all alone in the situation that was at hand. There were thousands of whispers in the Senate as the senators were talking amongst themselves as they could tell that the situation was very dire. Even the chancellor was talking amongst his group. Finally, a verdict was made and it would either hurt or help the people in the Bormea Sector.

Palpatine finally came to the conclusion that the Senate should vote on a relief effort for the Bormea Sector. He hid his dislike for the girl but Ozanka could tell the old man hated her based on his body language. Almost everyone voted in agreeance of helping the people in the Bormea System. Directly after the voting, they dismissed everyone. After the long and enthralling Senate meeting, the Senators were allowed to leave the boring Senate building. The senators had been instructed to stay in the cold metal building. The overhead lights started to flicker on and off violently which start to cause chaos. Ozanka fell to the floor and everything around her turned black...
