I couldn’t believe my eyes. I could swear I had seen this somewhere. The painting was magnificent, a forest cliff face with a small bridge going over a stream with steam rising in the warm morning sun. Like a fairytale almost.

A sudden noise brought me back to the present. I could feel a chill crawl slowly up my spine, and I turned around scared that the ghost stories were real. I tried to shake it off but the feeling stuck as I continued to look around the stupid cabin.

It had been a stupid dare, we had been racing, almost high of the summer in the air. Until we found the cabin. My friends told me about the ghosts that supposedly lived there and stupid as I was I said yes.

Now I really regretted my choice as the floor creaked under me. There was spiderwebs everywhere and with only the barest of sunlight through the door it made it hard to see anything at all. There was something something in one of the cupboards that held sparked in the light.

As I neared I saw that it was a medal of some sort, it’s golden dusty surface almost shining in the sunlight. I picked it up and saw that it had a date. 1912. I slowly put it back and started to move out of the cabin. Fear pulsing in my veins.

As soon as I could I turned and ran out, only managing a glance at the beautiful painting. What I saw almost made me stop. Now it wasn’t only the beautiful scenery, but a rearing snow white horse.
My breath caught and my legs couldn’t move fast enough to get me out of there.
