W E L C O M E ! ! !

This is Nomad! Welcome to the Mid-Story special of Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign!

To those who are unaware, each year during the middle of a mainline Splat Force story, I temporarily pause the story after the halfway point to not only give any falling behind readers a chance to catch up but also celebrate reaching halfway through the story.

Now in the previous years, these posts were made to be gallery posts, showing off the character's design and all that. However, that was already done during the massive market that I had done for the story, all of which were the character posters, which will all be used in this post. They were all brilliantly done by my great friend: Cookies n Cream 22

For the past month, I have been scavenging through ideas on what to do for the post until late last week I came up with the idea of doing a post about who I would cast to voice my characters.

I want to quickly get a couple of things out the way first: Yes, I know the Inklings/Octolings don't speak English, this post was just for fun. Secondly: I know for a fact that none of those people will ever voice any of the characters because frankly, Splat Force is just an online story that nobody in the outside world actually knows exist. Yet again, this post is made just for fun!

As with all my previous mid-story posts, I don't want this post getting featured, as I want to save that privilege for actual Chapters instead of these posts.

So without further ado, let's get into this!

Rex Allen - James McAvoy

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Charles Xavier (X-Men)

Kevin Wendell Crumb (Split)

When reading out Rex's lines, I always imagined him having the voice of a determined, optimistic leader. It was only after rewatching the X-Men movies, and seeing his performance as a young Charles Xavier, that I realized that James McAvoy would really work as the voice of Rex Allen. From what I've seen from McAvoy, he appears to be good at playing troubled characters, as shown in films like Split or It Chapter 2, although he doesn't suffer from D.I.D like his character did in Split. He also appears to be great at playing leaders, which is shown through the X-Men movies. These two attributes, to me, are what would make him a great fit for the Splat Force Commander

Alyssa Frida - Hayley Atwell

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Hayes Morrison (Conviction)

Peggy Carter (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

I haven't seen much of Hayley Atwell, but from what I've seen, her voice would be a near-perfect fit for Alyssa. From what I've seen of her so far, I can tell that she does well with dominant, leading female characters, such as Peggy Carter in the MCU. From this, I think that she would do great with Alyssa as she too is a leading female character. Another reason is that I (for some reason) imagine a lot of Octolings having British accents (again, I don't know why but it's just a random ass headcanon that is most likely untrue) and when thinking of British actresses, she came to mind.

Ami Stewart - Willa Holland

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Aqua (Kingdom Hearts)

Thea Queen (Arrow)

Ami was a tough one to find, as I wasn't quite sure what voice I wanted to give her for the longest time. One day I want her to have a strong British accent, another time I went for an American accent. I just couldn't make up my mind with her. However, the conclusion I came up with for now was Willa Holland. The main reason for picking her is because Ami has been described to have a very soft voice, something which Willa has in a lot of her roles. However, she has also taken on roles of characters who are sensitive and raise their voice a lot of times, specifically Thea Queen in Arrow, particularly in the early seasons.

Samantha Stewart - Sophie Turner

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones)

Jean Grey (X-Men)

Originally I was going to go with Emma Stone for Samantha, mostly since she is a great actress with a lot of range. However, upon looking back, I'm not sure if she has the gentle, protective voice that I'm looking for. Upon searching, I came up with Sophie Turner, whose voice I think matches well with Samantha's as it sounds older than the voices of the other three students, and it is the level of softness that I was wanting for Samantha.

Emily Rogue - Kelly MacDonald

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Karen Parke (Black Mirror)

Helena Ravenclaw (Harry Potter)

For some reason, I always imagined Emily having a Scottish accent and I have no idea as to why (I know it was to distinguish her from the rest but I have no idea why I chose it to be a Scottish accent). However, it was very easy to find a Scottish voice actress for her as if you look up Scottish actresses online then she is one of, if not the first actresses that shows up, and for good reason too! Upon listening to her voice more, I can say with certainty that her strong Scottish accent is a strong fit for the nieve, rebellious Inkling.

Magnus Lang - Seán Mcloughlin

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Shawn Flynn (Bendy And The Ink Machine: Chapter 3)

Q*Bert (Free Guy)

Now, this is most likely the most out-of-nowhere choice out of all of this entire list, the reason being that Seán (or Jacksepticeye) is mostly known for his YouTube career. However, he has done a little bit of acting, whether that be in the mini-movies he posted on his channel or minor voice roles, such as Shawn Flynn in Bendy. The main reason I chose him out of all actors is that not only is he Irish (an accent I gave to Magnus for some reason) but he also sounds incredibly youthful, which works well considering Magnus is the youngest of the new Splat Force.

Led Levin - Rick Gonzalez

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Timo Cruz (Coach Carter)

Rene Ramirez (Arrow)

I don't exactly know how to explain it but Rick Gonzalez has the voice of a determined badass and has a voice that I always imagined Led having since I created him two years ago back when Splat Force: The Gifted was first airing. Rick, specifically in his role of Rene Ramirez in Arrow, just has the voice of a troubled being who is one step away from losing it, something which is 100% Led by a long while.

Melissa Sabrina - Elizabeth Olsen

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Wanda Maximoff (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Leigh Shaw (Sorry For Your Loss)

Now I know what you're most likely thinking: "Wow, closing an actress who's playing a depressed gifted woman with problems being chosen to play a depressed gifted woman with problems? How original!" Yes, I know it can be obvious I'm sorry, she's just too good of an actress, even outside the MCU. Lizzy's monotone voice is pretty much what I imagined when I started to develop Melissa's character last year.

Bruce Hammerhead - Ciarán Hinds

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Steppenwolf (Justice League (both versions) )

Gaius Julius Caeser (Rome)

I haven't seen too much of him but from what I saw of him, specifically him as Steppenwolf in both the Whedon cut and the Snyder cut of Justice League, he is great as a massive, bulky powerhouse, which is what Bruce is. At the same time, specifically in the Snyder cut of JL, Hinds showed a sympathetic side of the villain, making him sad and lonely, things that are also a part of Bruce, even though he has people who him.

Damian Batson - Jamie Foxx

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man)

Joe Gardner (Soul)

I've had a couple of choices for the Speedster before, one of them being Michael B Jordan. But one day after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home for the billionth time, I realized that Jamie Foxx would make a brilliant Damian. Not only does he have the acting chops to give a good performance but he can also speak very quickly, as shown when he played Electro in SM:NWH, which is also a key feature of Damian's characters, due to his whole thing being speed.

Bobby Tundra- Shawn Ashmore

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Bobby Drake (X-Men)

Lamplighter (The Boys)

Now, looking at the roles he played, you might notice where I got the name Bobby from. What is, even more, funnier is that Bobby Drake is the character Iceman in X-Men, see where I got the name and the actor from now? Jokes aside, I can see Bobby having a higher-pitched voice when compared with someone like Bolton or Rex, which is why I feel that Shawn Ashmore would be a good pick.

Peter Watson - Martin Freeman

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

John Watson (Sherlock)

Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit)

My reasoning for this choice is going to be an odd one but it's one which you could/should understand once I explain it. Long story short, I had a history teacher called Peter Watson, can you guess where I got his name and job from? He was a cool dude, he left the school around the same time my year left it. Anyways, upon watching a few of his films, I found that Martin Freeman sounds just like him, so I thought, "why not".

Blue Watson/Sasha Vulcan - Holly Earl

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Lily Arwell (Doctor Who)

Lillia (League of Legends)

This one was very hard to find as I wanted someone who was both young and British, and who could sound as if she was raised by Martin Freeman (but was born from the actor/actress who would play Bolton and Helena, we'll get to them later). In the end, I decided to go with Holly Earl, who I found upon watching a cursed deep fake edit of Willem Dafoe's face on her head, don't ask. Upon hearing her voice, I looked her up and thought, "Yup, she's Blue".

Bolton Vulcan - James Spader

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Raymond Reddington (The Blacklist)

Ultron (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

This right here ladies and gentlemen is my definitive Splat Force casting which I had since I created Bolton years ago. When I first created Bolton, I imagined him to have a villain's voice from any movie. I stayed away from the obvious choices such as James Earl Jones (Darth Vader) and Josh Brolin (Thanos), not to disrespect them tho, though they are legends. Eventually, I stumbled across Ultron and I heard all of his voice lines by James Spader and was immediately hooked. I then watched a clip from The Blacklist in which he does a deep monologue and I knew immediately that he was Bolton. Since then, I haven't changed my mind about it since.

B O N U S C A S T I N G

Frederick Evans - Bryan Cranston

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Walter White (Breaking Bad)

Hal Wilkerson (Malcolm In The Middle)

Originally, I thought Michael Fassbender would work well, but that was most likely to put him alongside James McAvoy (due to him playing Magneto in the X-Men films alongside McAvoy's Xavier). However, upon watching Breaking Bad, specifically Walter's "I am the danger" scene, I concluded that he would be a brilliant Frederick Evans as I'm sure he would master the misunderstood, ruthless hero.

Platinum Frida-Allen - Mia Goth

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Sara Simms (Suspiria)

Harriet Smith (Emma)

Platinum was a difficult one to find. Originally, I imagined her sounding like Cream The Rabbit from the Sonic franchise (specifically her voice in Sonic X). But then I realized that the actress most likely can't do the voice anymore as it's been nearly two decades since then. A couple of weeks ago I looked up British actresses (I chose British because I wanted her to sound like her mother) and found Mia Goth. I think she fits Platinum because, in a way, she sounds like both of her parents, with Atwell's accent and McAvoy's strong voice.

Zane Miller - Asa Butterfield

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Ender Wiggin (Ender's Game)

Otis Milburn (Sex Education)

Out of all the voices, Zane was definitely the hardest one to find as I never had a clear voice for Zane, not even when writing about him. It wasn't until thinking about this post that I found the voice be sheer chance. The thing is, I'm not sure if this is gonna be my definitive pick for Zane, it might be, but it also might not be. Either way, I chose him for the voice of Zane because I wanted to make him sound youthful (like Drift and Ami) and Asa has a very youthful voice so I thought, "Eh why not". As I said, it probably won't be his definitive voice claim but it's one nonetheless.

Drift Evans/Credence Vulcan - Dave Franco

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Eric Molson (21 Jump Street)

Lloyd Garmadon (The Lego Ninjago Movie)

Just like Bolton with James Spader, Drift with Dave Franco is a casting choice I've had for years now. Dave Franco has the voice of an angsty teenage boy, which he appropriately used when he voiced Lloyd in the Ninjago movie, who conveniently enough is the son of the villain, sound familiar? That angsty young voice is one that I've always heard when I wrote Drift back then.

Helena Court - Helena Bonham Carter

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter)

Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd)

I know the irony of having Helena played by a Helena but hear me out because I find this very convenient. From what I've seen of Helena Bonham Carter, she's played a couple of love interests to villains, which is what Helena Court is to Bolton, except unlike Mrs. Lovett or Bellatrix (although her love thing with Voldemort is in a crappy screenplay), she isn't batshit crazy. The reason I chose her, aside from the irony and the convenience, is because she just has a comforting voice, specifically in Sweeney Todd where she acted as the Demon Barber's voice of reason throughout the film/play. This is in contrast to Helena being Bolton's voice of reason, always being calm with him and loving him.

Terrador - J.K. Simmons

Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign; Dream Casting-[BC]■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

[BUIC]W E L C O M E ! ! !

[IC]This is Nomad! We

Nolan Greyson (Invincible)

Terence Fletcher (Whiplash)

For the final casting, I present to you the villain of Cosmo: A Splat Force Story, Terrador. There are a couple of reasons why I chose J.K. Simmons for this role, the first being his age and voice. I think his older voice suits Terrador due to him being an older Inkling. The second reason is the type of roles that he has taken on. Mr Simmons has been known for taking on roles of mean people, whether that be a crappy boss like J Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films or a dictator as Omni Man in Invincible. The latter of the roles I just called out was what sold me on the idea of J.K. as Terrador, specifically in the scenes where Nolan talks calmly, slowly and aggressively, that right there is an intimating villain and a voice that I would happily put over Terrador.

Thx for reading this small post for Splat Force III: Bolton's Reign! I hope you found some of these casting choices somewhat interesting! To be honest, this post was very fun to put together. Next week's Chapter will pick up where last week's Chapter ended, only this time in a brand new world run only by Bolton's salvation, so stay tuned for that! Until next time, stay safe out there! ^^
