Hey! I'm Nani, formerly known as Anitra by the community, or as Ani by close friends. Some of you may this guide here, talking about how to be a semi-lit/lit roleplayer that had gotten featured back around June 2020.
While most, if not all of the information in that guide still stands to be helpful, I wanted to revamp this guide since I felt that many parts were worded weirdly, and to add things that I've learned since that guide.
I know that I never made the second part of the last guide, but with this revamp I'll be bringing the second part that you guys were waiting for.
Before I can actually start, I want to leave a quick disclaimer.
There is no “right” or “wrong” way to roleplay!
The point of this guide is not to force people into being semi-lit/lit, nor am I trying to say that you have to be semi-lit/lit. This guide serves as a reference point to a certain extent for people who wish to grow past the “asterisks 'nd short responses” era of roleplaying.
With all that being said, let's move on to the actual part of the guide that y'all wanted!
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Section 1.1
What is “semi-lit/lit” roleplaying?
Semi-lit/lit roleplaying, also known as semi-literate and literate roleplaying, is essentially the counterpart to whats known as “one-line” roleplaying. Semi-lit/lit roleplaying usually consists of writing out your replies as if you're writing a story, with more details and dialogue written how you'd see it in a book.
While I may describe it as being written like a story, don't let that scare you off! It's not as hard as it sounds, and I'm sure anyone can pick up semi-lit/lit roleplaying with a little help from this guide!

Section 1.2
What does “semi-lit/lit” roleplaying even look like?
Like mentioned in Section 1.1, semi-lit/lit roleplaying is like writing out a story as your reply. But even with that description, it's hard to imagine what that looks like isn't it? Lets take a look at some actual examples from a normal roleplay, from myself.
![Semi-Lit/Lit Roleplaying; A guide by Nani!!-[C]Hey! I'm Nani, formerly known as Anitra by the community, or as Ani by close f](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.vertvonline.info%2F8156%2Ff188686215c159a6c35ce6afdc007e2f5492fe46r1-750-739v2_hq.jpg)
Here you can see that my response is written out like a little story, with dialogue and actions carrying more details than what you would see in “one-line” roleplay.

With this response, this is the best example I have of “lit” roleplaying. Lit roleplaying holds much longer responses, and sometimes these responses can have “See All...” at the end of the bubble, saying that there's even more to it. Lit roleplaying is hard to consistently do, especially to this extent, hence why I'm mainly giving help & tips on semi-lit roleplaying.
These are just two examples of semi-lit/lit roleplaying, and they're not the only ways to achieve this style of roleplaying whatsoever. There's many different ways to achieve this style of roleplaying, after all.

Section 1.3
How exactly do I “semi-lit/lit” roleplay?
Like stated before, there's no one way to roleplay in a semi-lit style! Though, there are a couple overlapping traits that make a roleplayer's style go from one-liner to semi-lit that I'll explain.
Story-like writing
Story-like writing is the biggest sthing that sets the semi-lit/lit roleplaying style apart from it's one-line counterpart. With more detail, proper grammar, dialogue tags when speaking, all these traits that you'd see in a fiction book will most of the time, if not always be found in this style of roleplaying. This trait is the most essential part of semi-lit roleplaying, as without it it's not semi-lit at that point.
Centered, Bolded, and Italicized Text
Formatting your text is far from necessary to roleplay in a semi-lit style, but it helps to add depth to your responses when roleplaying. If you dont know how to format your text, you have to add either [C], [B], [I], [S], or [U] at the very beginning of your line.
Adding these either centers, bolds, italicizes, strikes through/crosses out, or underlines your text. You can guess what does what by the letter chosen for it. You can also combine multiple letters into one bracket. Say you want to center and italicize? You would use [CI] to do so. You can add as many of these formatting letters as you want, or even all of them if you really want to.
Text Headers
Like before with text formatting, text headers aren't necessary, but they help to make your responses look less dull, and they also help to tell what character you're using. If you don't know what headers look like, refer back to examples 1 & 2 in section 1.2 and look at the top of the chat bubble. That bolded part where it says Nani? That's a header! They dont have to be fancy if you dont want them to be, but they overall make your responses look nicer, so why not use them?
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
With all that being said, that's all I have for you guys!! If you have any questions, feel free to comment them or shoot me a DM! You're also free to test out anything regarding what I talked about during this guide in the comments too!!!
I'll see you guys around!!! Saying goodbye, Nani out!!

It may seem a lot, but for me who used to use * before being introduced into the semi-lit/Lit form was the best decision to switch too!
