W E L C O M E ! ! !

This is Nomad! Happy Halloween everyone! To celebrate this occasion, I've decided to cook up another Chapter of Bolton: A Splat Force Story!

In case you all are wondering, yes, I have updated the front cover, I'm not gonna go too much into it but I'm sure you all would notice.

I'm not gonna talk about what happened in the middle of the last week, so I'm just gonna say this. The first Chapter was received surprisingly well, considering all the dark moments that ended up happening in the Chapter. So I just wanna say thank you!

This Chapter won't be diving as deep into Bolton's mental health as the last one, however, there will still be dark and gritty moments, especially with the last part of the Chapter.

So without further ado, let's get into this!

:warning: WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CHAPTER CONTAINS STRONG VIOLENCE/GORE AND SCENES REVOLVING AROUND UPSETTING TOPICS, SUCH AS ABUSE. PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION! :warning:

"Okay children, we have a new student visiting today! I want you all to be on your best behaviour and give him the warmest welcome, okay?"

The Nursery Teacher informed her toddler class. She felt confident that the students would be kind to the new kid.

"Wow! New friend!"

"Is he friendly?"

"I wanna play with him!"

"Now, now, children, I'm just as excited to meet him as much as the rest of you. But, you probably shouldn't go too hyper otherwise you can scare him off!"

She told them before hearing the classroom door open.

"Here he is!"

To the surprise of both the nursery kids and the teacher, the new kid was an Octoling, completely separating him from the rest of the class. The Teacher had little to no prior knowledge about the new kid, due to the lack of information that his father gave.

"Oh wow...An Octoling. T-This is quite the surprise!"

She muttered, trying not to let the Octoling hear her.

To the new kid's dismay, the students each slowly moved further away as he got closer, to the point where they were all leaning against the wall, all but one. A young Inkling Girl approached the new kid slowly and gave him the welcoming smiles that he needed.

"I'm Helena!"

She greeted with a sense of playfulness in her voice, successfully managing to make the young Octoling boy smile.

"What's your name?"

P R E S E N T  D A Y . . .

"Bolton, I've given you many chances."

Mr Hamer muttered with a sigh.

"I've had parents me on a daily about you. I've even stood up for you...H-How do I stand up for you now?!"

Bolton didn't give him the response he wanted. He didn't speak a single word. The only noise that the pair of them were wearing were the sounds of students gathering around the office to try and get a glimpse of the red-haired Octoling, who was staring at the ground, hands held together.

"I'm truly sorry, Bolton, but I can't stand up for you any longer. I'm gonna have to let you go."

He informed him.

"Go, please...And don't even think about stepping onto the campus again!"

Mr Hamer gave the two men at the back of the room permission to walk him out of the building. Bolton stood up as they opened the door and cleared the way for them.

The Octoling walked in between the two Inklings, trying his hardest to ignore all of the students from behind him.

After exiting the building, they stopped moving to let the emergency services take Kye Rogerson to the hospital, he had a large, bloodied bandage across his ear.

Along the way, they ed Helena, who gave Bolton a concerned look. She was the only Inkling who Bolton gave eye , even if it was only brief.

After being successfully taken off-campus, Bolton was shoved to the ground, landing on his stomach. The two men walked away back to the College, snickering behind him.

Bolton began to growl as he slowly got back on his feet. All he wanted to do was bash the brains out of both of them. However, that train of thought was quickly interrupted by the kind-hearted Inkling coming his way.

"Bolton! Thank cod you're okay!"

Helena said as she wrapped her arms around him.

"W-Why are you hugging me? Didn't you see what I did?"

Bolton asked, confused.

"He's been bullying you ever since high school. He's also bullied me, and many more. Everyone would've wanted to have done what you did."

She whispered as she pulled out of the hug and looked back towards the campus.

"Too bad they are too stubborn to see the real victims..."

Helena looked back towards Bolton and saw blood on his hands and jacket.

"Hold on just a second."

She told him as she took off her bag and began to look through it, eventually finding hand gel. She began to wash his hands with the gel, eventually moving onto the jacket. Although the jacket wasn't fully clean, his hands looked like nothing had happened.

"Thank you, Helena..."

Bolton muttered as he began to dry his hands using his jacket sleeves.

Helena gently began to hold the Octoling's right hand and began to stroke it using her thumb.

"I've heard about what happened. All the kids in the hallways were talking about it. I went to get fresh air after hearing it and well...That is when I saw you."

It was then that Bolton came to a realisation. He covered his face for a brief moment.

"Dad is going to murder me..."

He muttered.

"He won't! I won't allow that to happen to you!"

She assured him. Bolton slowed his hands and looked into her shining eyes.

"I'll go with you, we'll face him together!"

"But...He'll hurt you. I can't allow you to  get hurt by him!"

Bolton told her with worry dripping from his voice.

"I don't care if he hurts me, I just want you to be okay!"

She assured Bolton as the pair of them embrace each other in another hug.

L A T E R  T H A T  D A Y . . .

Both Bolton and Helena got off the bus at Pulpo City. Bolton was thankful to Helena, otherwise, he would've been assaulted on the bus.

"I have to quickly check-in at the Curry Dojo, just in case he's been told yet."

Bolton informed Helena as he quickly began to walk in the direction of the Dojo.

"Wait!"

The Inkling girl called out before catching up to the Octoling. She held his left hand gently.

"I'll walk you there and wait for you because you and I know who must come next after him..."

The hallow wind flew through the Octolings long messy hair as he looked at Helena's ionate eyes.

"Okay...Thank you."

The two headed for the Curry Dojo. Luckily, there were no police cars, not yet. Bolton walked into the building, leaving Helena outside.

"Sensei?"

He called out.

To his relief, Marshal Curry greeted Bolton with a pleasing smile.

"Ah, Master Vulcan!"

"Hey, Sensei!"

Bolton responded, feeling relieved that everything was finally going well for him and that he wasn't taken from him. He didn't want any mention of the fight that occurred today.

"What do you have for me today?"

"This will be another quick lesson."

He answered as he gave his student a wooden bat.

"You've amazed me with your potential, young one. You have shown some skill with bats, maybe one day you could master a blade!"

"I don't think that will would happen, sensei."

He muttered.

"Haha, no need to humble yourself, Master Vulcan."

His Sensei told him before getting into a fierce stance with his own wooden bat.

"Now, when you're ready..."

The sensei and the student began their duel with Bolton leaping forward and swinging his bat, only to get blocked. The two bats traded swings and clashes, they were both quick and fluid in their movements, however, one was faster.

S L A M ! ! !

Marshal Curry broke their chain of clashes by uppercutting the other bat with his own, knocking his student off-guard. Taking advantage of the situation, he managed to land a kick to Bolton's stomach, knocking him back.

", Master Vulcan, always stay on-guard, even when taking in an unexpected attack!"

Bolton silently groaned as he held against his stomach for a brief moment before rising back up. Another leap forward and the two of them were off, Bolton was faster in his movements, partially thanks to his rage slowly building up. The two of them traded clashes for almost a minute, with neither of the two showing any sign of slowing down.

Eventually, they both stood still, blades forcefully clashing. The two made determined eye behind each of the bats. Unfortunately, for Bolton, Marshal Curry dropped his bat, surprising the Octoling, before quickly grabbing ahold of it with his right, open hand. These events happened before Bolton had the chance to react.

S L A M ! ! !

Marshal Curry restraint himself from hitting Bolton's left hip too hard but he still hit hard enough for the Octoling to feel it. Bolton went off-guard again, to his sensei's dismay. He grabbed ahold of his hip, fell onto one knee and groaned for a small moment.

"If I wanted to, I could've landed a devastating blow to you, Master Vulcan. But I'm not going to blame you for that error, you never saw it coming at all."

He said nicely before grabbing his hand and helping him back onto his feet.

"The art of surprise is a key art, when it comes to battling, always that."

"Yeah...Thank you, Sensei!"

Bolton muttered, putting a smile on Marshal Curry's face.

However, to the dismay of both the old Inkling and the young Octoling, the session was unfortunately cut short after the front door opened and three police officers.

"Marshal Curry, we need to talk!"

The leading officer called out.

A frown came onto Bolton's face after realizing what this meant. Marshal Curry looked down at the Octoling, he too was frowning, he knew exactly what was about to happen.

"Master Vulcan, it appears our time has come. I only wish we had more time..."

He said as Bolton hugged him. The old sensei patted his back as a small tear went down his face.

"Good luck out there, the lessons I've taught you!"

M E A N W H I L E , O U T S I D E . . .

Seeing the three police officers walk into the Dojo made Helena feel very uneasy about Bolton. Was he about to be taken away? Thankfully, the lingering question was about to have its greatest outcome.

"Oh thank cod!"

She muttered as the distressed Octoling walked out of the building. After seeing his upset face, her mood changed.

"I-I'm so sorry..."

"It's okay, Helena. It's not your fault."

He muttered before the Inkling girl hugged him.

"Besides, that is nothing compared to what will come next..."

"Oh no..."

Helena whispered, ing that he had to go to his dad next.

"I'm sticking by what I said earlier!"

"A-Are you sure?"

Bolton nervously asked, not wanting her in harm's way.

"Do I really need to repeat myself?"

Helena playfully asked.

"I'm not gonna stand by whilst you get torn to shreds!"

The two have a silent moment together, spending all of it hugging each other, all whilst mentally preparing themselves for the inevitable fight with Bolton's father.

5  M I N U T E S  L A T E R . . .

After the mentally longest and nerve-racking walk home in his entire life, Bolton was now standing outside the front door, his whole body was shivering.

"On the count of three."

Helena whispered, holding his hand.

"One...two...three!"

C R E E K . . .

"Ah, about time you should up! You and I are going to have the most lovely conversation, you piece of s-"

Bolton's father greeted. He was standing in the small kitchen, the tea kettle was on and already smoking hot. To his dismay, he was quickly interrupted.

"No you're not!"

Helena yelled out, throwing him off.

"I know full well what you're gonna do to him!"

Bolton's father walked out of the small kitchen and towards the young Inkling, who walked towards him, hoping to scare her off. However, Bolton walked towards the kitchen and stood by the tea kettle.

"Who are you to come into my house and yell at me? I LIVE HERE AND I CAN DO WHATEVER THE FRACK I WANT IN HERE!"

"Does that include, oh I don't know...BEATING YOUR SON?!"

She shouted back. She nearly gagged at his scent.

"Why you little!"

He growled as he raised his left hand, ready to backhand her. She covered his right cheek, worrying about an attack.

"LEAVE HER ALONE, DAD!"

Bolton yelled. His father stopped and quickly turned around, staring into his eyes.

"Helena, please go, I don't want you getting hurt!"

The Inkling was both stunned and horrified.

"B-But, B-Bolton..."

"Helena, please! I'm sorry you got involved, but he needs to hurt me, not you!"

He told her.

Helena nearly broke down crying but she respected his wishes and walked out of the house.

"Good luck..."

She muttered whilst standing outside the door before slowly walking away.

Bolton's father walked back towards the small kitchen, his son now had nowhere to run.

"Now, where was I...Oh right, I ."

He snarled as he clenched his fists.

"How tough do you think you are, starting all those fights? How cool do you think you are, you fracking idiot? WELL CLEARLY YOU'RE NOT COOL AND YOU'LL NEVER BE!"

"I know!"

Bolton yelled as he took a large step forward.

S L A M ! ! !

Bolton's father punched him in the stomach and pushed him back to the corner.

"Oh, you wanna get personal, okay! You know, my life has always been squit, I was taught how to fight by the Octarian generals, I've seen many people die! The only light I've had was my wife. Oh, I miss you, Claudia..."

He muttered, he nearly broke down with the last five words.

"And then you came along and ruined it all! YOU TOOK HER FROM ME!"

"It was Maternal, dad! She had a weak kidney, she was going to die no matter what! So please, don't blame me for bringing myself into this world when you were aware of her conditions!"

He yelled. He knew it would only make things worse for him but he didn't care anymore, he just wanted to get his anger out.

"Why you little!"

He growled, taking a huge step forward to try and back him back into a corner.

"When I'm done with you, I'm gonna find that Helena girl-"

"Shut up!"

Bolton growled as he tightly held the tea kettle's handle.

Outside, Helena was able to barely hear the fight going on between them. She turned around and began to walk back, feeling uneasy.

"Oh yeah, I will find her, AND I WILL GIVE HER THE MOST LOVELY VISIT AND IN THE END, YOU'LL KNOW HOW I FELT WHEN I LOST HER TO YOU!"

S P L A S H ! ! !

Unable to hold back his rage anymore, Bolton poured the hot water onto his father's face, causing him to scream in agony. He held his hands over his burnt face, the heat was slowly melting it.

"You little squit...YOU'RE DEAD!"

He screamed as he ran at his son.

S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !

Just before he had the chance to reach his son, Bolton bashed the kettle against his father's head, doing severe damage. He spat blood with every blow, staining the walls. The third hit knocked him back onto the ground. He slowly began to cry in agony as he held his face.

"I-I'M S-SO-"

S P L A S H ! ! !

Bolton poured the rest of the hot water onto his face, almost melting it completely. He couldn't control himself anymore, it was like someone else had taken control of him. But in actuality, it was just him, nobody else. Bolton looked down at his dying father, his face was like a spilt, bloodied slushie. He raised the tea kettle, ready to deal the final blow.

Helena arrived just in time to see him kneeled over him, kettle raised.

"BOLTON, NO!"

She yelled, but it was too late...

S M A S H . . .

The tea kettle crushed the remains of his father's head. Blood and brains were scattered across the floor. There was almost nothing left of his head. All that remained was his chin and neck, everything else was either slushed or crushed.

Bolton dropped the kettle from his hand, his whole body was entering a breakdown. He was trying desperately to take in what had just occurred.

"W-What have I done..."

He muttered, he couldn't calm himself down.

Helena couldn't close her gasping mouth and she couldn't shut her widened eyes. Her hands shivered as she slowly and steadily approached Bolton, who slowly looked up at her, he was nearly in tears.

Helena got onto her knees and gently wrapped her arms around him as he glanced back to his father's body. She quietly whispered into his ear.

"It's okay, it's okay...It's over now."

The two sat there for what felt like hours, Bolton finally closed his eyes, allowing a tear to escape as he embraced her. Finally, Helena stood up and helped Bolton stand up. Without saying a word, they slowly walked out of the house. Bolton was finally free from him, but at what cost?

Thx for reading this week's Chapter of Bolton: A Splat Force Story! That ending might currently be my most brutal scene, well so far anyway. I promise that the next couple of Chapters will definitely be tamer than the past two and will focus more on the two main characters so far, Bolton and Helena, so stay tuned for that! Until next time, stay safe out there! ^^
