Serina: I hope you have a wonderful time in San Sequoia, Theo. All the best to you.

Kian: Take care of yourself, ok?

Theo: I will. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Anitelu.

Serina: We'll leave you to say goodbye to Mia. We'll say our goodbyes to your parents.

....

Theo: Hey...

Amelia: Hi...

Theo: So... this is it then.

Amelia: I guess it is.

Theo: Are you ok?

Amelia: Me? I-I'm...ok. I should be the one asking you.

Theo: It doesn't seem real; maybe it will once I get there.

Amelia: I don't know how things will be without you around. You're...you're my best friend.

Theo: And you always will be. See-

[Theo raises his wrist to show friendship bracelet]

Theo: You're stuck with me, even though I'm far away.

[Amelia gives a quiet, teary laugh, holding up her own wrist with the matching bracelet.]

Amelia: Promise you won’t forget me?

Theo: Never. Not in a million years. You mean way too much to me.

[Amelia wipes at her eyes quickly, sniffing back tears.]

Amelia: Me... Me too. Enjoy San Sequoia. I hope the private school’s nice.

Theo: Me too. On the plus side, I get to go home during the holidays. And you? Keep writing, ok? Be brave. Don’t hide in the back of the room anymore. You’ve got this.

Amelia: (smiling through tears) I’ll try.

[Theo and Amelia embrace for a massive hug, they stay that way for a few moments.]

Theo: We'll keep in touch. Call, write, message... whatever we can.

Amelia: You'd better. I'm not on social media, so we can figure it out.

Theo: Definitely!

[They pull away before Theo hears his parents calling him from their car. He makes his way over, looking at the scenery around him and then at Amelia.]

Theo: We will see each other again. I know we will.

Amelia: For sure.

[Theo climbs into the car. As the car pulls away, Amelia and her family wave goodbye to Theo and his family.]

Amelia: Goodbye, Theo... please don't forget me. I certainly won't.
