Ali, Pixie, Flute girl.

Her first nickname Ali is a simple shortened version of her first name used by those who are close to her. Pixie and flute girl however are more teasing names her friends/teammates use for her due to her diminutive height and use of a flute as her weapon, much to her chagrin.

:sparkle: Personality :sparkle:

Positive Traits

Alizeh is very punctual and very polite and respectful to those she meets, or at least she tried to be. On top of this she is very diligent and responsible as well as extremely hardworking as she constantly tries to be the best she can be mentally and physically. Going along with this she is more likely to assist and or stand up for those who show effort in what their doing even if their actual level of skill isn’t very good. Finally Alizeh is fiercely loyal and protective of her friends or allies willing to put her own life in danger for theirs.

Negative Traits

Alizeh is intensely competitive and when put in direct competition with someone else it can override her common sense and cause her to forget her team or objective. This stems from her inferiority complex making her feel as if she has to do the best she possibly can against others. Also as a result of this she feels very self conscious about herself and needs to succeed and appear strong in order to feel good about herself, often causing her to come off as standoffish and cold, with her guard constantly up. That being said with how hard she works and the reason for doing so causes her to have an unhealthily high expectation for herself that sets her up for a crash if and when she inevitably fails to reach such a high standard for herself

:eight_pointed_black_star: Strengths :eight_pointed_black_star:

Alizeh is extremely quick witted and intelligent in multiple fields, but particularly dust due to her constant and rigorous studies. On top of this she is extremely fast and agile with a high degree of dexterity and reaction time due to her form and style of combat. On top of this she is adept at long and short ranged combat due to both her weapon modes as well as her semblance; Which also grants her a high degree of field control as she isn’t restricted in what direction her ranged attacks go as well as in using her semblance to move around in a variety of ways.

:negative_squared_cross_mark: Weaknesses :negative_squared_cross_mark:

Exploitable personality traits, due to Alizeh’s highly connected and personal personality it can be easy to take advantage of and manipulate her to a greater end if she isn’t careful or observant enough. Physically while in good conditioning, she can only do so much and thus has issues with problems or opponents who are especially bulky and or armored foes as well as not being able to utilize her semblance to its best effect without her weapon giving her a very restricted form of fighting.

:sparkle: Weapon :sparkle:

Weapon Name

Sylph Syrinx

Weapon Description

Sylph Syrinx is a metallic green flute with silver keys and a silver mouthpiece with different colored segments under each key, indicating dust reeds which when air blows through via the keys activates the dust letting the corresponding element blow through the main opening of the flute. This means that multiple dust types can be used in conjunction for various effects. Though it should be noted that while multiple types can be used her flute can only handle two flowing through it at any point in time, any more than that can cause undue stress on the body and inner mechanisms of the weapon causing potential damage. Also when using two dust types Alizeh must be careful to make sure they correspond to each other in ways that are beneficial. Finally Sylph Syrinx is able to transform by pressing a small button near the mouthpiece. Doing so causes the flute to segment at the keys and extend out before flattening out with sharp edges coming out to make the weapon into a rapier. While in rapier mode and pressing one of the keys the corresponding dust will coat the blade for added elemental attacks, this mode can be ended by choosing another element and pressing its key or by pressing a manual stop button also located on the mouthpiece, now handle of the blade. Also while in sword mode the blade can only handle one element at a time as opposed to two due to it being much thinner and thus more ‘fragile.’

:sparkle: Semblance :sparkle:

Semblance Name

Aeolian

Semblance Effect

Alizeh’s semblance allows her to create nearly translucent tracks of aura that can redirect the trajectory of anything that goes on these paths. However the trade off is that the bigger a mass she wants to redirect the more aura she’ll have to use to make a bigger ‘track’ for that mass to follow. And that toll rapidly builds ups with something the size of a softball creating a drain of nearly a third of her aura after just a minute of usage. However something doesn’t have to be physically present in order to redirect it. That is why she uses her semblance in conjunction with her flute music. She uses her semblance to build tracks of aura from her flutes opening to carry the music from her flute to a range and in directions it normally wouldn’t go for a very little amount of aura. But this means she can only use her semblance so long as she is playing music on it. She can also choose a fixed location for her tracks to take sound automatically along a preset track, or she can choose to manually build the tracks and direct the sound in any direction she wishes. Either way the aura cost is still the same which is five percent of her aura per minute of her semblance used, or if she uses the present location it remains five percent per usage. (Essentially one is a ‘quick fire’ option with the same aura cost per usage as using her semblance in its base way for five percent per minute). Likewise she can do this with any form of sound from any source including her voice.

Aura Control

Alizeh has an average to slightly below average amount of aura but to compensate for this she has an exceptional control of her aura, knowing when to activate it to protect herself and being able to turn it on at a moments notice to protect herself from sudden danger or big hits. Speaking of which given she has an average amount, Alizeh is only to take so many blows, with smaller ones not being a problem, but bigger, much harder hits taking much bigger chunks of her aura, especially if their direct. This means she can take three, maybe four strong blows and only one or two max super strong attacks.

:sparkle: Backstory :sparkle:

Alizeh was born in Atlas to her father, a high ranking Atlas official and a Mistralian native fashion designer leaving her to live a life of luxury, wealth and extremely high standards. Due to the high degrees of time both her parents had Alizeh was often left in the care of tutors and babysitters who constantly told Alizeh that if she did good on this and that, then her parents would be proud of her. Taking this to heart Alizeh did her best to apply herself to studies, pouring over books and pushing herself in exercise to get the highest grades possible to please her parents and win their time and affection.

While she made some progress in this pursuit, seeing her parents a bit more frequently at dinners or through facetime calls (or what amounts to them at least) as well as getting legitimate praise for her progress. This caused Alizeh became convinced that what she was doing was working and her work ethic and value in working so hard for approval from her parents became even more ingrained in her conscious. However a problem reared its head not long afterwards. Two years after she herself was born her mother gave birth to a second child, Zerah. Like many children in this circumstance she was jealous of the attention the young baby drew from her mother and to a lesser extent her father. But at the time she pushed those feelings aside and continued to work and study.

However, as the years went by her brother, despite being growing older still retained the attention of her mother and eventually her father who much preferred having a son to a daughter. This meant that growing up her brother was spoiled and doted over, being shown praise and joy from both parents while she was barely given the time of day. Feeling infuriated by this she asked herself why was she made to feel pushed aside and ignored? She was older, applied herself, did everything her parents and tutors asked of her, yet her brother did half the work she did and took things not even half as seriously as her yet he was their parents whole world. These thoughts caused her to develop intense feelings of anger and resentment towards her brother while also gaining feelings of insecurity, and frustration at herself for not being good enough.

The major blow to her pride was when she was denied entry to Atlas academy, despite being physically and academically suited for the military school her father saw her as too small and fragile for the combat school. Meanwhile he had already reserved a spot for her brother and was already scheduling advanced combat lessons for the boy while she only barely got basic combat training despite being two years older. Feeling immensely embarrassed and weak over the situation Alizeh of course blamed her brother, and had she not thought it would get her thrown out she would have attacked him. Instead she settled for acting coldly to the young boy and took every chance she could best him at any point she could in any form of competition, whether it be in grades or spars she would prove to herself that she was better, that she was the one who deserved their parents attention. Not him.

Unfortunately around this time her parents were having issues of their own. Their marriage was never really strong, their busy schedules and radically different cultural views, with him being from Atlas and herself being from Mistral, their relationship was always strained and in a way was destined to fail. Thus at the age of 12 and 10 respectively for Alizeh and her brother, their parents divorced and rather than split custody chose to each take one child with them. While initially ok with this due to at least being able to get closer towards one of her parents, Alizeh’s attitude towards the divorce quickly changed as she heard her parents argue loudly about who would take custody over her brother. Unbelievably upset at this Alizeh locked herself in her room, stewing in anger and sadness as she soon began blaming her brother for everything that was wrong with her life, even finding a way to blame him for their divorce.

Eventually it was decided that her mother would take custody of Alizeh and the two would move back to Mistral while her brother remained with her father in Atlas. Naturally dissatisfied with this Alizeh accepted it and obediently left with her mother to Mistral. Once there Alizeh, upon finally getting a chance to talk to her mother, explained her desire to be a huntress and asked to attend Sanctum and later Haven. Her mother while not really understanding why someone would want to be a huntress certainly respected the profession and not sharing the same views as her father, decided to relent and sign Alizeh up for classes, knowing that if nothing else Alizeh wouldn’t flunk out due to her past high grades. Once again feeling validated by this small, but meaningful show of acceptance and faith from her mother, Alizeh eagerly started classes at Sanctum and began to work even harder than she did back in Atlas to show it was not a mistake.

Due to her overwhelming desire to succeed Alizeh spent hardly anytime interacting positively with her peers, if at all, on top of her fierce competitiveness leading her to not only severely defeat others in spars and grades but also too… not necessarily be a good winner about it. This led to Alizeh gaining a rather negative reputation among the student body for a variety of reasons, but despite this she excelled in her grades and combat skills being the first in her class to unlock her semblance which led to her deg and making her weapon to make the most use of it. Receiving positive reports of Alizeh’s progress and due to being closer to her work and thus having more time on her hands led to Alizeh’s relationship with her mother improved greatly as the two now have at least an amicable relationship with each other. Albeit Alizeh still hasn’t told her mother anything of her feelings towards her brother, or her deep rooted insecurities and need to be the best. In fact this upturn in their relationship only further rooted her inferiority complex and resentment towards her brother as it essentially was proof of these ideas and feelings being true.

Finally as Alizeh turned seventeen and it was time to choose a new school she chose, rather than Beacon to attend Haven academy as she had grown quite fond of Mistral in her time there. While in Haven Alizeh was grouped into team FAWN and despite being mildly displeased with not being leader she accepted it relatively easily and accepted the leader, Fawn, given she saw the effort she put in to be a good leader and resected that and her. Besides Fawn, she respects her other team mates, Waneta and Aurelia, though she finds Waneta can be quite loud and over boisterous at times. As for Aurelia though, well when they first met they were not friends at all. Over the years her relationship with her teammates grew and as of now in their third year at Haven she sees them all as her sisters, although she still clashes quite often with Aurelia. But they’ve helped each other over the years and grew closer as a result, as they’ve even helped her realize her inferiority complex and have helped her learn to tone down her more negative traits while making her feel valued regardless of what she accomplishes. But she’s far from one hundred percent ok, and is still learning and maturing, but with the help of her team she’s on a good track.
