It was a normal day, a normal life, but an awful accident. I was climbin](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.vertvonline.info%2F7109%2Ff8b1ca7080b3d223d294e52e544cb275f02a88f8r1-870-1003v2_hq.jpg)
It was a normal day, a normal life, but an awful accident. I was climbing a tree to get my younger sisters kite out of the branches, when the weight of my body snapped the branch under my foot and made me tumble through the tree. I felt multiple scratches dig into my body, and my arm gave off a sicking snap as it whipped off of the thick branch. I didn't even have time to breath before I hit the ground and lost my breath, making me wheeze out a pathetic scream of pain.
I wanted to get up, but I only managed to move my arm before my body caved in on me. I took shallow breaths as I heard my sisters small steps run to me, her frantic crying and salty tears landing on my face. She was panicking.
"(Y/N)! I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Will you be okay?" She asked me while tears spilled down her cheeks. I gave her a smile, sitting up while clenching my teetdh in pain. I saw some relief flood her eyes, but the tears still didn't stop coming from her eyes.
"Yeah i'm okay, just a bit sore is all. Do you think you can run and get mom? Tell her I fell from the large oak tree by the pond, okay?" I said. My little sister nodded hastily and ran, making sure not to trip on any lose rocks. I collapsed on the ground again, letting the pain take over. It felt like forever before I heard someone walking over to me, the calm steps crinkling the dry leaves on the cold ground. I smiled weakly, not bothering to look up.
"Sorry bout this mom, never expected to fall from that tree, please don't scold me later." I laughed, looking up. But it wasn't my mom, it was a man with dark hair and black eyes, and his calm face was looking at me. "Now who the hell are you stalker boy?"
His face went flat as he heard the name, and I could't help but snicker as I looked at him. His pale hand waved over me, and I looked at him with with curiosity as he did so. He quickly retraced his hand, shaking his head.
"I guess it's not your time yet. That's good." He mumbled, looking around the Autumn forest. He took a peek at the tree that I fell from, the broken branches hanging just barley off of the tree. I let out a huff, waiting for my mom to show up and help deal with me. I tried to move again, but I gasped in pain as my broken bone rubbed against itself in my arm. The man looked at me with a look, then saw my arm, his eyes filling with remorse.
He stepped closer to me, taking my arm in his hands as he gently examined it. A light blue glow came from his one hand and he placed it on my arm, his dark eyes focusing on the magic. My eyes widened as I watched my bone mend together, the pain fading as the nearby cuts also healed.
"Thank you..." I said breathless. The man just nodded, stepping back as I sat up. I was a bit sore, but now that my arm was healed I felt like I could just walk home.
"My name it (y/n)." I introduced shyly. The man raised an eyebrow and looked at me, not really understanding why I was introducing myself.
"You can call me...Sashin." He said. I didn't have time to reply, because my mother came tumbling though the trees. She didn't take notice of Sashin, instead she phased right through him and ran to me. I was shocked when he had a calm expression and watched my mother scream my name, shaking me as I continued to just stare at him. Sashin tuned away, fading into the light of day like he was nothing but a figure of my imagination.
My mother collected me up in her arms and carried me home, where she called an ambulance to have me checked. I didn't mention Sashin to anyone, for I knew they would think I'm crazy and give me medicine for a possible concussion. I was sent home with minor injuries and a large gash on my leg was weekly visited by nurses to clean and re-wrap the wound. It did't bother me much, and may people had fun colourning my bandages every week.
It was years until I saw him again, but it was only a glimpse of his smooth black hair that flashed before my eyes when I was younger. I felt like I saw him everywhere, and small glimpses became clearer and clearer as time went on. I didn't feel like talking to him and seeming insane, and just ignored his as a figure of my imagination. As I lived my life as a healthy girl, I became one of the top academic students in college, and loved mythology to the point where people would joke that I was obsessed with it. After graduating, I got a job as a banker, but never bothered with tampering with my social life.
I was in my room when I saw him again, his face on the other side of the dim candle I had lit to keep the darkness at bay. There was a cold snow storm howling outside, and the power had went out along with the heat. So I had plenty of blankets wrapped around me for warmth, and the candle provided enough light foe me to read my fantasy book. Sashin's dark black eyes stared into mine, his face blank and calm as he watched my expression of surprise.
"You're dying..." His voice said to me. My head perked up, recognizing the man that once healed my arm. He looked more tired then when I saw him years ago, and his eyes held a bit of sorrow. I raised an eyebrow, not exactly understanding what he was saying.
"What? Is that you Sashin?" I asked. It was his turn to be surprised as he lifted up his hand to place it on my head. His hand ed though me, and his form seemed to be fading when I tried to focus on him.
"You can see me? That's not right..." He trailed off, humming t himself in thought. I cleared my throat, getting his attention once more. "It's nice to speak to you again (y/n)."
My heart fluttered. He ed my name after all this time, not a hint of hesitance in his voice. I smirked brightly, confusing the black haired man.
"It's nice to finally be able to talk to you, but how did you get into my house?" I asked, pretty sure I locked the door. The corner of his mouth twitched, and my eyes quickly refocused on him.
"I just walked right through, it wasn't difficult." He said while shrugging. I didn't believe him, and I guess he saw my doubt because he stretched his arms and fused through the floor. I gasped, almost knocking over the candle on the floor. I quickly caught the tipping candle, taking in a sharp breath as Sashin came back up though the floor.
"Alright then, is it magic then? Are you even human?" I asked while squinting my eyes.
"No, it's not magic, i'm simply able to do so since I am the Grimm reaper." He confessed, looking at me dead on. It took my mind a few seconds to process what he said, and when I finally understood, I froze.
"So am I going to die? Like right now then?" I asked, worried about all the things I never did. The dark haired man shook his head while chuckling.
"No, not today at least, but you have the charm of death within you, and you're going to die eventually soon." He said, pointing at my chest. I looked down at myself. I looked healthy, I lived healthy, so what could possibly be wrong with me?
Me and the Grim reaper talked all through the night, introducing ourselves and having small talk with him. He eventually had to leave to collect more souls, but I couldn't deny the chill I felt when he left. He visited every night, sometimes only for a few minutes, and each stay was warmer then the last. We told stories to each other, and laughed together as the night faded. It was fun hanging with him, but we were a bit disappointed we couldn't feel each other when we tried to show each other tricks. It was like a barrier I wished to cross, one I wished didn't exists.
One night, I grew so cold that I almost fell asleep. Sashin scolded me for not wrapping myself in anything, but couldn't stay mad at me foe long when he watched me burn up with fever. He could only bless me with his company, and it was comforting to say the least.
"You know, I wish I could get Mook to make you something." He said with a smile. Mook was like his son, only not biologically connected to him. And from the way he talked about Mook, he seemed like great cook.
"That would be nice, but for now, It's instant noodles." I said while gulping down my food. It took a while for me to get better, and even when I was considered fever free, I felt extremely weak.
Days went on to months, and each time Sashin was gone, my heart would ache to see him again. I would get worried if he looked too tired, and force him to rest, and other times I would blush at his growing compliments. But one day, he broke my heart.
"You have cancer." He said to me. I knew I was growing weak, but I had never suspected that cancer was a possible thing for me to have. I looked at him in shock, but didn't say anything as he tried to hug me. As expected, he phased right though me, and more sorrow filled my heart as I fell back into the couch. Tears filled my eyes, but nothing spilled down.
I went to the hospital after that detail, and got diagnosed with heart cancer in its third stage. Sashin took the time to be there with me when no one else was close by, even if he couldn't hold me in his arms to comfort me. My family was notified, but coming from a poor family, I couldn't get treatment from the hospital due to financial problems. I felt like crying for days, but I didn't let the news take me down as I began a new hobby, painting.
"You make very beautiful art." He said, coming closer to me. I had gotten used to his unexpected visits, and was now welcoming him whenever he had time.
"I inspire it off of your stories actually. See? This is the dragon that saved his village from the storm." I said while pointing at a sea dragon flying through an intense thunder storm. Sashin smiled as he looked at the picture, his eyes taking in the sight of my drawing.
"It's almost time to stay in the hospital. Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, looking at me with sorrow in his eyes. I raised my hand in an illusion to touch him, and he would have leaned into it if this barrier would allow us too. Over time his physical form was easier to see, his body no longer a shimmer.
"As long as I see you in the end of the journey, then I will go anywhere." I said honestly. He nodded, following me to make sure I got to the hospital safely. The nurses made me sign multiple papers, say goodbye to my family, and inject needles into my arms as they laid me on a hospital bed. I felt the drugs gtting pumped into my veins, the fluids working their way into my head as I felt my grip on rality fade. my eyes scaned my vrying family, but I was focsed on Sashin, his eyes sorrowful as he watched me die.
"It's never easy to watch." He confessed looing away. I smiled, allowing myself to close my eyes, and fade.

I was lifted out of my body and was placed on the ground, all the previous pain gone from my bodies suffferings. The sound of crying were growing louder as a long beep echoed through the room. Turning around, I saw my pale and skinny body finally go into a peaceful state, my smile relaxing and turning into a normal face. I smiled, feeling lighter then ever before.
My family began to file out, ing through my body as the heavy feeling of sadness left with them. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, and with great joy, I turned around and hugged the cape-wearing man. His arms enveloped around me as I finally got to enjoy the feeling of him with me physically.
"Your finally with me..." He said breathlessly. I smiled and nodded in his chest, letting my tears of joy spill out of my eyes.
"Do you think, we can leave here first? I don't want to be staring at myself for the next couple of minutes." I laughed. Sashin smiled, taking my hand and weaving us out from the building. He led us away from the city and into a nearby field, where the sun was shining down beautifully over a willow tree. As we landed, I noticed that Sashin was smiling even brighter then before.
"I'm glad your finally here, I can finally hold you.." He said, making me blush. I raised my hand to brush his cheek, but instead of me phasing though him, he leaned into my touch, his body warmth seeping into my hand.
"I love you." He said, taking my hand and leaving a light peck on my knuckles. I blushed, and his eyes sparkled, not waiting for me to react. He pulled my hand, pulling me so close to him that our faces were only inches apart. "It broke my heart to see you die like that, but i'm glad it wasn't in pain."
He placed his forehead on mine, and I let my arms wrap around his neck. His grip on my waist tightened as I made my lips connect with his, a quick, yet ionate kiss shared between us. We broke the kiss and enjoyed each others presence, my hands going through Sashin's hair.
"I love you too."
