what is meant by "the 3D is an illusion."

after watching this video, it finally clicked for me.

i never liked the idea of "the 3d is fake!!" bc i don't like thinking or viewing the world around me as just...fake and make belief. it'd make me uncomfortable and send me spiraling.

after watching the video i linked above and hearing his explanation, i connected the dots and realized: the 3d IS real. what's happening around me IS real, but it's simply an illusion. it's an illusion in the sense that it's malleable and can change at any second. the 3d tries to fool us by presenting itself as something CONCRETE, as something that CAN NOT be changed (or something that will require great effort to be changed). that is the illusion of the 3d.

the 3d is an illusion because it can always be changed. reality is kinda like water: it's always flowing and changing, never stagnant or concrete. the illusion that reality presents to us is that it's concrete and never changing. going back to my water example: water can seem concrete when it's not moving, right? it's so still, and looks like it's solid. however, on a molecular level, it's still moving. the molecules are always moving, but you just can't see it. our physical eyes are limited in that way. but if you decide to tap on the water, you'll be able to see the water ripples against the surface.

that is why you must "ignore" the 3d. because why have faith in something that can be changed in a second? imagine if you had a friend who changes her crush 24/7. one day, she likes this one guy and quite literally the next week she likes another guy. if she told you "i found the love of my life this time!! seriously, for real!!" would you believe her? probably not, because she's said the same thing over 100 times by now. the 3d is the same way. it can present itself as one thing, but then completely change the next second.

the illusion of the 3d IS NOT "the 3d is fake! nothing is real!"

the illusion of the 3d is the way it PRESENTS itself as something unchangeable, when in actuality, it can change at any second.

tldr: when people say the 3d is an illusion, they don't mean that what you're currently experiencing is fake. they mean that the 3d can quite literally change at any second. the illusion of the 3d is its seemingly concrete: when in actuality, it's more like water, always changing.

at least, this is my own interpretation of the 3d and the physical reality. others may interpret it differently!
