PSA: Live Stream Feature :-1:

There's a lot of information I wasn't aware of. I knew that these were going to be high risk for inappropriate activity and targeting minors but I didn't know we wouldn't be able to turn them off? The Important Information ~ What is it?

It looks like this live streaming feature is out for IOS so far but is planned to be out for everyone eventually.

What is it? I'm assuming it would be like any other social media app live streams. Facebook live, insta live, TikTok live. I could be wrong. It could just be randomized or something, which is even a bigger concern.

Even discord has live streaming in voice chats where you can share your screen. I'm not sure of specifics and before you get excited..please read why we are concerned!

Concerns

It looks like the "Lives" button will bring you to a bunch of different ones and there's no easy way to moderate these. I don't believe they can be turned off either.

This becomes an issue when trolls,bots and predators figure this out and want to target people on this app, especially minors.

We are trying to spread the word to be cautious if you do choose to update and see this feature. You might be exposed to NSFW/18+ content or other inappropriate, gore, flashing images with no warnings.

What can you do?

If you haven't updated yet, try to avoid doing so and turn off auto updates as long as it will let you.

Eventually,I think you will have to update to use the app unfortunately because in the past I was unable to use the app without updating. Nothing would work correctly and the app wouldn't even load at a point.

Already updated? Can't avoid updates? Simply ignore the feature to the best of your ability. If you must use it, try to keep it inner circle (people you know on here).
