— unless I can breathe.

I have this habit

of running away

until I get better.

I have an air of

quietness, I am;

remorse-fully calm

ist a sea of

aching closures.

I am, I am, I am.

I go quiet for

things that wake

me up and make me

swim to the brim.

I keep myself tied

to this dark space

away from static noises,

because there are times

I can't breathe.

I may not answer

your serene, tender summons.

know that I'm underneath;

deep, deep, deeper.

where there's no light.

where there's only silence.

havoc silence.

frail thin strums

form the lining along

my first patch of isolation;

I sing songs to myself.

I write poems to myself.

It helps me breathe,

it reminds me I'm living,

not for the sake of it.

Sometimes, I need me.

I close off, stay untethered

unless I can breathe.

I have been the only

listener to my words;

ever since I can .

It's not often that I come across a poem that I find wholly relatable, but this is definitely one of them :purple_heart:
