A Poem to My Santa:

The Ghost of Christmas Past | Poem

Written By: Maeori

╚════════════════════╝

Thirty days and thirty nights,

Half past dawn the candle lights~

               A river if ivory

         Bound by snow,

  Reminiscent

           Of Christmas's     Blades of silver,

Long, long ago~       Times of splendor

Overcoming hardship       With laughter

That fills the air,          They roam freely

                                              Without a care~

A ring of emerald           Beneath the ice

Crafted by the crafter

   Appraise your price

An ivory tale             The candles grow dim,

St. Nicholas's        The wax cools to the touch,

Workshop is          The twilight is grim; try to

Beyond the veil~    Escape purgatory's clutch~

Childhood memories

Within a tape,

Hidden cinema,

Traditions escape~

Jack Frost's whispers are more than a chill,

Icicles shackle the barks from the dog

Together we drift through Christmas' fog.

For my sprit rests nestled beneath the tree~

How I wish to one day be set free.

Ivory stockings hang aimlessly

From the fireplace's frill

Ashes blow adrift,

I move forth the thrill~

The elves work tirelessly

In humanity's jail,

For tidings of myrrh

And frankincense's grail~

Downstream a manger

A nativity beneath ice,

Lies humanities forgiveness

Forsaken by Christ~

The train whistle sounds,

The express is inbound.
