This Eid arrived with joy in the air,
Yet my heart felt heavy, a quiet despair.
For while the world saw their crescent glow,
I searched the skies, but you didn’t show.
The streets were alive with laughter and cheer,
But I longed for a voice I didn’t hear.
No "Eid Mubarak" lit up my screen,
No whispered wishes, no in-between.
I waited beneath the starry dome,
Hoping you'd guide me, lead me home.
But silence lingered, a bittersweet tune,
For even this Eid, I missed my moon.
I dreamed of you by the mosque’s gate,
A vision of beauty, my destined fate.
In my finest dress, I stood so tall,
But you weren’t there to see it at all.
The eidi I wished for was never mine,
A token of love, a moment divine.
Yet dreams of you still softly bloom,
Even on this moonless Eid of gloom.
So here I stand with a heart that aches,
Amongst the joy that everyone makes.
For though this Eid has come and gone,
My moonless nights will linger on.
