lost in metaphors.

“honesty, right?”

“yes.”

whew okay. so.

my life has been crumpled up

before my eyes like flaky leaves

and I just blew it into the wind

because it came from a dirty tree anyway

wait I’m getting lost in this metaphor

okay back up, back up

my life has been poured

down into the drain like water

that no one wants to drink anymore

because who cares honestly

no, that’s not the metaphor

that I wanna use for this either

my life is as broken as that umbrella

that you keep in the corner of your basement

and really often forget about

because it never rains anyway

and even if it did, the umbrella

already has tons of dust on it and-

hold up, no. this isn’t what I want either.

I got it!

my life is a catastrophe of crazy coincidences

and I just happen to have stumbled

my way into it but that’s perfectly fine

because it makes me

really happy to be alive sometimes

and sometimes I might feel really upset

and I can’t get out of it, but for now

I’ll accept myself as the mess I am.
