I burnt the me that I once wished I never had been. Instead of burning down to the ground, I lit the sky temporarily. Acknowledging that I was here only for a moment. That in the finite time of my existence, I was alive - I am alive. I finally broke the chain that always held me back. I can breathe without feeling the weight of Atlas on my neck. Perhaps I too, would choose the route of Icarus. My feet that were nailed to the ground are finally free. And I can walk, and I can run. What if I ran and fell off the face of the earth and into the embrace of the sea. I cannot what fireworks look like. Yet I that within the few seconds in which they shine, they carve themselves into our memories for many eternities after. I find myself in a dandelion field. Who said there were no fireworks in the daytime. The kind that does not fade. They fly with the wind carrying wishes beyond our beings. When I reach the edge of my thoughts, under the starry skies I witness the world. And in return, maybe the world too witnesses me. Intricately fabricated into the course of this universe, we are wildflowers in the sky falling like fireworks throughout our lives.
