Andrzej Duda has been re-elected as President of Poland, just winning with a bit over 51% of the vote.

This win might be victory for Duda but is devastating for the Polish LGBTQIA+ Community.

This is a guy who refers to LGBTQIA+ rights as 'ideology'.

Duda campaigned against LGBTQIA+ rights.

He stated he would be moving against allowing LGBTQIA+ couples from adopting children.

The political party he represents ed making sex education illegal, has an anti-semitic platform and wants to crack down on abortion.

Some areas in Poland have already been declared as LGBTQIA+ free zones, approximately a third of the predominantly Catholic country.

LGBTQIA+ people in Poland feel they will now face more discrimination.

The person who got 49% of the vote is Rafal Trzaskowski.

He didn't win the presidential election but the fact that he got close to half the vote is still promising.

You see, Trzaskowski wanted LGBTQIA+ rights to be taught in schools in Warsaw, where he is the Mayor.

Catholic conservatives found this to be a threat to their values and voted against him, instead ing the anti-LGBTQIA+ Duda.

Still, 49% of the vote gives hope for success when the next election comes around.

In the meantime, the Polish LGBTQIA+ Community face another fives years of Duda and fear.

This guy is like a Polish version of Trump.

Speaking of Trump, yes, he naturally congratulated Duda on his win.
