I've mentioned this a few times in prior prompts, but for a quick catch me up:

There's only one main god in this world, but they went around and purposely created other religions. With the exception of one religion, which was created by a competitive/enemy goddess who wishes to take over via the method of a cult following.

Eventually, I'd like to give each one their own symbol so you can tell which religion is more prevalent in certain areas, especially for the cult one.

Now, to break this down into its finer points.

The House of Rummage

While there are believers far and wide, they believe in the ancient ways that were recorded centuries ago, where only one god is mentioned. Animal sacrifices, questionable ritual practices to outsiders anyway, it's actually not that bad once you learn their practices and how they allow certain changes to be more humane in the current times of this world. Architecture wise, their places of worship are similar to Notre Dame but not as big or grand. With the exception of the oldest and most sacred place being in the heart of the country, Combe.

Dark Bloods (a nickname given by everyone else)

Of all the religions and beliefs of this world, this is the only one NOT created by the God who created this world but by one of his foes. While she is a part of the world, it's only in name alone so far. Her followers believe in the strong rule over the weak instead of protecting the weak. They are notorious for committing heinous crimes and schemes. Their "Bible" is more of a prophecy they revere more than their own greed. Everything they do, they'll claim its for the sake of the prophecy. They're small compared to any other belief systems since almost everyone despises them, but they have believers everywhere, working towards the bigger goal.

Dark Blood became a term for them based on the amount of blood shed they alone as a religion have caused. Several rumors started spreading, which added fuel to the nickname. The claims say their blood has to be as dark as their crimes because no normal individual could do what they do. Or that they turned their backs to their own kind to become a nasty monster in the same skin.

Most of their sacred places are in underground sanctuaries that they built themselves or where abandoned ruins. But smaller gatherings will normally occur in alleyways or run-down buildings that people generally avoid.

The Tridactyl Paths Council

A strange woman with 3 fingers centuries ago went around ranting and raving through four towns.

In one town, she warned them of a famine in the next few months. They decided to prepare for it because it wouldn't have precaution for such emergencies, but they didn't think it'd occur in months. The famine struck mid preparations when it was over. The woman came back, and she mumbled in some weird language, blessing the survivors to have premonitions through dreams.

In the second town, she warns of a drought. They laughed and riddiculed her as they lived in a marsh area. They made several attempts to chase her out, only to fail each time. When the drought hit, many blamed her. Some sought her out. Maybe she knew a way to help the town, but she was impossible to find. Only when the drought was over did she return, the survivors were gifted with water divination.

The third town suffered a plague. The survivors were blessed with healing abilities. They vary from person to person, though. Some can only heal minor injuries or sicknesses. Others can heal more severe problems, but there are still certain things they can't heal.

The fourth town suffered from several pests problems. Once they thought one was gone, a new one started immediately after. There was no end. The woman never showed after leaving her warnings. The people had enough and burned the entire town to the ground to prevent anyone else from taking up residency here and suffering like they did.

The three that still stand formed the Tridactyl Paths Council, who worship the woman believing she was testing them and the ones who ed still stand while those who "failed" perished. They're headquarters built where the fourth once stood, yet they don't suffer from any pest problems, further feeding into their beliefs. The believers here, while welcoming of strangers, are very strict in who can be a believer and will make anyone who wishes go through the three trials. If one is lucky, maybe they will be blessed, too.

I'm gonna stop here. Because I already spent so much time thinking of all the possible religions this one npc can make before creating this world in the first place. So I can go on for quite some time on this. And I don't want to make these posts too long or reveal too many secrets, so there's still some mystery to keep it interesting.
