Welcome to the tenth episode of DNA predicts. DNA stands for Donlan’s NASCAR Analysis. There is 2 parts to this series. Before race week there is a prediction episode and on Sunday Night there will be a post talking about something relevant during the weekend.
NASCAR Xfinity Series, Saturday 4:30 PM EST
Favorite For The Race: Harrison Burton
Burton won at Homestead last season in the first of the doubleheader race. He is starting in 3rd today and has shown a lot of speed so far this season. Burton could get his first win of the season.
Underdog For The Race: Tyler Reddick
Reddick has never finished worse than 6th at Homestead in all of his starts there. Reddick has also won at Homestead in his last 2 Xfinity Starts there. This will be Reddick’s first Xfinity Start since his win at Homestead in 2019 which won him the championship. I would expect him to get a top 10 and maybe even Our Motorsports’ first win.
Winner Pick: Noah Gragson
Gragson dominated at Homestead last season. He won 2 stages and led 164 laps out of the 344 laps. He also finished in the top 5 at both races. I think Gragson will get his first win in 2021 and Chevy’s first win of 2021.
NASCAR Cup Series, Sunday 3:30 PM EST
Favorite For The Race: Denny Hamlin
Hamlin dominated at Homestead last season leading 137 laps, sweeping the stages, and winning. He also will start on pole for the race and looks to be prime position for win #1 of the season.
Underdog For The Race: Christopher Bell
Bell he a great showing at Homestead last season. He started in 36th and made his way to finish 8th. With a better car and a better starting position Bell may take his momentum into back to back wins.
Winner Pick: Tyler Reddick
Reddick has been nothing but phenomenal at Homestead. While his starting position isn’t ideal he had plenty of time to make his way through the field. Last season he started in 24th and made his way to 4th. Richard Childress Racing has seemed to improve since that point last season and I believe we will start 2021 with 3 straight first time winners.
