Hello everyone, it’s Glory, and I hope you are having a wonderful day!
In this post I will be discussing my favorite songs and artists this month. They will not necessarily be from July 2020; they are just songs and artists I listened to the most during this month.
After the favorites I’ll tell you about the flops. These will be the songs that came out this month but weren’t really my cup of tea.

Weeekly
This is by far one of my favorite debuts of the year. It’s the type of bright, catchy, and cute song that I’ve been needing.
Play
Chungha (feat. Changmo)
After the mildly disappointing Stay Tonight, Play reminded me of why Chungha is my ultimate female bias. It’s positively bursting with energy. If you don’t feel the urge to dance to it, or at least tap your feet, I don’t think you’re human. I challenge you to sit still through the whole song. Spoiler alert, you’re going to fail.
Apple
Gfriend
I have never been a Gfriend fan. I like some of their songs well enough, but I had never found one that had that wow factor. Then came Apple. This song swept me off my feet, drawing me in with its eerily enchanting style, unlike anything I had heard before. It’s a bright spark in a bleak year.
Bad Guy
1the9
I’m sad that 1the9 is disbanding, but this was an incredibly strong song to go out on. The chorus is intoxicating. It makes you crave it as you listen to the teasing verses in between, which only makes the payoff of each chorus more satisfying.
Holo
Lee Hi
This song breathed hope into me. Lee Hi’s rich, soulful voices makes me feel like I’m flying. I listened to it a few days ago while on an evening walk and it was like a spiritual awakening.
Wayo
Bang Yedam
I’m like two months late to this song, but better late than never. I fell in love when I finally did listen to it. It’s raw and beautiful, and despite Yedam’s rookie status, he can convey emotion with the grace of a veteran.
Thunder
Verivery
I might’ve not listened to this song as much as my other favorites, but it deserves its spot simply for the quality of it. They tried something new and it paid off. The rocky verses build up to an intense climax, not unlike A.C.E’s Under Cover (aka my favorite song of 2019).
R.o.S.E BLUE
Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher brings so much power into everything they do. This particular song is reminiscent of their old anime-soundtrack style. Also, the vocals the vocals THE VOCALS.
Honorable Mentions
AKA songs that I like but not love, or just didn’t listen to as much as the others
Bedlam by Lee Jinhyuk of Up10tion
Love Me Harder by Woodz
Rains Again by Solji
i’M THE TREND by (G)I-DLE
Summer Breeze by SF9
Run by Great guys
Yessir by 3YE
Count 1, 2 by TOO
The Answer by AB6IX
~Albums~
Monster
Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi
Every song on this album fits the two girls and the concept perfectly, while still all offering something different. Whoever did the song selection deserves a raise. I listened to the title track the most, but every song got playtime from me this month. I would also like to take this opportunity to shout out Naughty, their follow up single. It felt like a continuation of the album, so I’m not sure why it wasn’t included, but I liked it nonetheless.

Dessert
Hyo feat. Loopy and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE
Everything was fine until the chorus hit. It reminded me of how I felt watching How You Like That for the first time. I can see why people might like it, but it’s not my taste at all. I hate choruses like this, all yelling and whiny noises. I will leave this song to those who do like this style and move along.
