January 2020 Favorites & Flops

In this post I will be discussing my favorite songs and artists this month. They will not necessarily be from January 2020; they are just songs and artists I listened to the most during this month.

After the favorites I’ll tell you about the flops. These will be the songs that came out this month but weren’t really my cup of tea.

ATEEZ

This is by far my favorite ATEEZ song yet. They really started the year off right with this one. It uses their signature sound in a new way, and if you haven’t heard ATEEZ before, I would definetely recommend this song to start. All of their songs are pretty great, but this one stands out to me.

Wish

DreamNote

With their latest comeback, rookie girl group DreamNote took on a more mature concept than their previous song Hakuna Matata (which was on my top 50 of 2019 list). This song is like if WJSN and Twice had a baby. It’s still cute, but in a more muted and ethereal way. This is a good introduction to the group if you don’t like super cute and hyper songs.

All I Need is You

DONGKIZ

Though this group’s name is...interesting, I decided to give this song a shot and man was it worth it. It’s the kind of cute and fun concept that boy groups generally don’t do much anymore (it has a similar vibe to TXT’s Crown).

ANS

This song isn’t really anything special, but it is pretty catchy with a healthy dose of sass, which I always appreciate. I like this song a lot better than their debut, so it also put them on my radar for future releases.
