Quick phone stand

So long story short I got a new (used) radio in my workshop so I can have music while i work on projects. I only use the aux feature and the cable is pretty short so everytime an ad starts playing on youtube i have to reach for the phone and skip the ad.

So I made a quick phone stand out of aluminum profile. I just cut the aluminum profile roughly to length, measured the width of my phone and transferred it onto the profile whilst making sure it was roughly in the middle of the profile.

Next I cut 90° notches into one side of the profile right on the mark. Next I bent the profile so it fit my phone and removed some material for cables and esthetic reasons.

Then i just measured the thickness of the phone and bent the tabs so it could hold the phone. All I did next was to drill two holes for rivets into the profile and the locker door. The only thing left to do was to rivet the holder onto the locker door and that's it.

It was a very quick and easy project but it is working just fine.

Phone case instead of phone in the holder because I couldn't take a picture if the phone would be in there😂

Is it possible the metal might scratch your screen?

Well it could if you have a soft screen but it is aluminum afterall and my screen is pretty tough so i have no issues+the case is protruding up from the screen so the holder doesnt even come into with the screen. Otherwise if you plan on making it I suggest putting some rubber or tape over the metal
