~everyone knows that Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is the ultimate holiday anthem — thanks in no small part, to the umpteenth million times it’s played every holiday season (the YouTube views get a boost every year.) But the popularity of her catchy ballad is only partially responsible for the reason that Mariah Carey is the undisputed queen of Christmas.

Has there ever been another celebrity so devoted to all things festive that they would break out the tree and decorations to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year not only during Christmas but also during Halloween and a full month after Christmas ended? Is there another star who is so dedicated to their role as the #1 holiday ambassador that they would take time during a television interview to compliment a host on the holiday decor? The answer is a resounding no — there is only one queen of Christmas and it’s the elusive chanteuse known as Mariah Carey, who loves Christmas so much she taught her twin children to sing harmonize while singing backup to her ubiquitous Christmas anthem.

In a recent interview, when The Hollywood Reporter got around to asking her about the moniker, she shut it down pretty hard. When told “they” call her the Queen of Christmas, she said:

”’They.’ I don’t know who ‘they’ are. That is not my appellation. It’s not that I’m not thrilled. I just don’t think I deserve it. I’m just a person who likes Christmas, OK? Who happened to write some songs.”

She’s literally the reason I started singing (flashback to when I can still access my whistle which puberty took away from me 🙃).Nonetheless you would think that many people would stan her cause she’s the Best-Selling Artist of All time but in fact she’s very underrated and gets so many backlash for not sounding the same she used to sound when she’s in her 20’s (“when she was a force of nature”). Which should be understandable since she’s a normal human being with vocal chords that would age too.

I guess many people could relate to her since she represents the minority which got big in the Music Industry with nothing but pure talent. All her riches comes from all her songs royalties and her songwriting talent. So when people come up to her and say the she’s too high maintenance and too much of DIVA :crown: but she has all rights to be high-maintenance and be the Diva that she is she worked hard for all she have. You can hate on her all you want but there’s no denying she’s Queen and would continuously inspire generations and generations of popstars (Beyonce,Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande are only a few of them) with her impact in the Music industry.
