Greetings and Salutations to everyone.I humbly present to you my Curator Application :snowflake:

✦ My name is jiichan but I just recently found out that if you combine the first 2 letter and the last 2 letter of my name you get my real name :blush: . The nicknames my friend gave me here are:

jii/JJ/jiji. (And many more :kissing: )

✦ I’m comfortable in using or being addressed by the following pronouns:

✦ I was born on the 18th day of the first month of the year, I am 20 years old :blush: .

✦ I currently reside in the Philippines, my timezone is GMT+8

✦ I am very fluent in English and Filipino I can only speak some in Spanish, Bicolano,Ilocano (the last 2 are dialects in the Philippines). This app has also aided me in improving some of my already acquired languages.

✦ I have been an active member of this community for 358 days.

A B O U T   M E

✦ I am currently a 3rd Year BS Psychology student in a University in the Philippines.I am a Mental health advocate and a participating researcher in PYAMH (Progressive Youth Association on Mental Health), it is a youth-led organization in the Philippines that focuses on aiding students of different strata. I’ve taken seminars and trainings on how to handle situations when someone is in distress or is in need of intervention.

✦ I love and appreciate all art forms. I am a theatre actor I work hard on my craft,at the moment I’ve been given scholarship to perform showcases in my University.

✦ I’m a very warm and approachable person, I laugh a lot (like a looot :joy: )

W E A K N E S S E S

✦My mind wanders a lot causing me to have short attention span. I took the MBTI (Myer Briggs Type Indicator) in my second year in Uni and it shows that I am extremely extraverted which is also partially the reason for my short attention span.

✦My emotions are very big and it can sometimes be overwhelming for some people.

(may it be how I react with videos, saying hello, just my general reactions). I keep them under control now and I’m still learning to get better at them.

✦I don’t work well when I’m alone it takes time for me to find inspiration, which is why I always sorround myself with peers or just people in general, cause I need the energy and I hate being alone.

S T R E N G T H S

✦ I am very sensitive in what people feels around me and can easily read a room, my friends calls me an empath for I have high-aptitude in touching people’s heart. I believe in people, as we all have the capacity to learn and change from our past experiences :blush: .

✦ I am a natural born leader, even as a kid I always showed a skill in leading to which I carried from High school to being a University student heading organizations up till now, my democratic approach always put into consideration the people’s voice and I also practice looking into the 2 side of each coin, making me a good listener and adviser in serious situations.

✦I compartmentalize really well I am able to separate aspects of my personal and professional life. I don’t let my problems get mixed up and interfere with my tasks since I always make sure I keep my emotions in check.

✦ Tell us why you'd like to be a curator and what you can offer to the team. Why should we choose you?

Being a curator means accepting the responsibility on keeping this space as safe as possible from threats that would endanger the well-being of the , Ever since I started being active in this amino I’ve always long to help other who needs help in their mental health, I find satisfaction and happiness In helping other people, it makes me feel as if I’m gradually becoming a part of something bigger than me. If I were given the chance to be a curator I would extend my knowledge and help about Mental Health to the team since it is my area of expertise. I am still a student myself and is still learning though unlicensed I would make a great asset in intervention or handling situations that requires a basic Psych Help.If I were to be chosen as a curator ,it would give me a bigger avenue to advocate for Mental Health helping those who needs my service and a curators help while making sure that everything falls within guidelines and is kept in check, committing and giving my 101% while assuring the safety of everyone staff and non-staff alike.

✦ Do you have any prior leader or curator experiences?

✦ I am an Agent of another community which is still in the start-up phase, it recently just got listed. Though in this community I have no staff experiences.

✦ Have you ever broken a community guideline? If yes, explain briefly.

✦ I am a host of a chatroom in this community and it got disabled due to it’s cover photo containing flashy imagery which according to the curator at that time might trigger seizure or worse epilepsy to those who might encounter it.

:one: You are the only one online. There has been a small swarm of trolls that have just entered the community. One is spamming the feed and the other spamming chats with innapropriate content. What is your course of action?

I would take a deep breathe to collect myself first, next I would go to where the troll have the most effect to the which are in the public chatrooms, see the extent of the situation, inform the leaders about what’s happening and have them banned and to make sure all their traces would leave with them.Proceeding to the one spamming the feed, hiding all of their spams and taking the same course of action, to make sure everything run smoothly, I would also check up on some who were affected and encourage them to do the same to the other s who saw the content and inform other curators about what happened with screenshots.

:two: You have disabled a post for being considered spam. They are not happy, and are starting to harass you and call you names. How do you handle the situation?

I would understand where they are coming from, and tell them to calm down while I also calmly explain what content of the guideline they have violated.What they’ve said towards me is just a cause of their impulses so I won’t take it personally.

:three: You are moderating a chat/post, and you see an altercation between 2 or more . What's your course of action?

I would tell them to take a minute to breathe and ask them to do it in the PM’s and offer if my assistance is needed. Sharing of one’s opinion should be presented in a way that it doesn’t belittle nor attack other personally.

:four: A member is asking for your help with a situation in their PMs about someone asking sexual/innapropriate things and or sending them. They have evidence to their claim. What do you do?

I would check if the evidences presented hasn’t been altered (cropped or edited) in addition I would ask a leader to also analyze the situation so they’ll be informed and could ban them.

:five: What would you do if you had a fight with another curator?

I would first take a deep breath and collect myself since touching the iron while it’s still hot would only cause pain to both party and when we’ve both calmed down I would calmly ask them what the problem was and listen intently to see where the conflict arose and would talk to them until it’s resolved completely so we’ll both learn from it.

:six: What would you do if you had a fight with a leader?

I would start by practicing self-control like what I did in the previous situation in #5 and would ask them what the problem was and listen intently to tell where the conflict arose and present my thoughts in an unbiased manner to prevent anymore conflict,resolve it completely and learn from it.

:seven: What would you do if a member has been posting about sensitive topics, such as suicide, or depression?

I would hide these sensitive posts as this could trigger , I would PM the author of the post and calmly explain to them to include Trigger Warning/Disclaimer at the beginning of their posts to give warning and make the post reader sensitive and prevent conflict since these topics can very much trigger who has had experience or is going through something, I would unhide it once they’ve put necessary precautions.

:eight: You get a report a member of staff is abusing their power. How would you approach this situation?

I would ask the one who reported for solid evidence and analyze it withholding any bias and then come up to a Leader and ask them to do the same and would leave the decision to the Leaders since I am in no authority to process Mod-related offenses.

:nine: You see a chat/post with people saying negative things about staff/a certain staff member what do you do?

I would calmly ask/warn them to not expose Mod actions and to talk about private matters in PM or they could discuss it with me or any Mod to figure out what the conflict is.If what they’ve been talking about is fully backed up by evidences I would raise the issue to the Leaders, if not, I would warn them to not create unnecessary drama.

:keycap_ten: You see a curator leaking information to a member. What do you do?

I would take a screenshot and give them a warning to not discuss classified informations with non-staff . If they continue doing so I would raise it to a Leader for them to handle it, No one is above the law even if they’re the implementor.
