Welcome to a brief overview, and my feature #takeover, of my experiences being both Bisexual and Transgender. I'm not going to include any sort of graphic content, so there is no need for a trigger warning.

When I was younger, I was never taught about what the LGBT community was and I didn't understand what any of that meant until I hit junior high. Believe it or not, amino was actually the main source that introduced me to the LGBT community. The other sources was just mainly stuff like Tumblr and Instagram. I got introduced to a lot of topics such as LGBT discourse and honestly I was pretty interested in a lot of that stuff.
When I first started coming across all of these different kinds of labels, I was quite confused. I didn't know what any of this really meant and this led to me just picking random labels. I ended up calling myself bisexual when I was around 13 years old and then it led to calling myself gender fluid. I went through quite a bit of labels but it wasn't too much if that makes sense? I labeled myself as non-binary, pansexual, a demi boy, etc. But when I was around 16 to 17 years old that's when my labels pretty much stopped changing and I settled down on being a bisexual and trans man.

I ended up coming out on June 7th, 2019 and honestly I everything that happened that day and even everything that led up to it. I came out to my sister a week or a couple of days before I eventually came out to my parents and it was honestly the most difficult thing I have ever been through in my entire life. Before I came out, I went on my vacation that I go on every year and I honestly did not even do anything the entire week I was on vacation because I was getting to the point where I knew I was going to have to say something. I was very anxious and when I finally came out the literal day I came back from my vacation, it felt like a weight got lifted off my shoulders.
It was hard, it really was. My parents did not understand what this all meant and I'm not going to lie some of their words did hurt me. Thank God I've moved past all of this but either way the entire process of transitioning was difficult. Sometimes I catch my grandma accidentally calling me a girl and she'll correct herself immediately but honestly it's so weird. Like my transition is complete but when my grandma does that it reminds me that I used to be a totally different person. I'm not uncomfortable anymore when people talk about my past but it's so fascinating realizing that I'm not even the same person I used to be.

For some reason my family was confused on how I could be bisexual while being transgender and I don't know how the hell they would even get confused about that but either way that was very weird. I could get if I was still a girl and I was a lesbian but then I transitioned and my sexuality changed towards being straight....but I was always bisexual and it has not changed in the slightest. I think me coming out really open up my family's eyes a bit though. I have a family member who is a lesbian but when I came out as transgender everyone was so confused and they did not understand what was going to happen.
I ended up going on testosterone for a while and then I stopped in March of this year. I also had Top surgery on May 21st, 2020. My name and gender was legally changed in January of 2020 too. I've pretty much accomplished whatever I've wanted to do regarding my transition and I'm really thankful for that. I've even gotten more comfortable talking about my transition and that means a lot to me because I used to not want to talk about it at all or pretty much get silenced by other people when I did want to talk about it.
