whispers of cool wind against a flushed face

crisp sunrays shine down brightly

steady rolling waves crash onshore

seaweed and shells gather like a bed of treasures

miles of untouched sand awaits

serene singing leaves fly to the ground

like a charm of hummingbirds

flowing silver streams carry away secrets

for new life to grow in expectant dirt

cleanse and wash stains of the day

dawn arrives in hues of new orange and pink

breathing, blinking, listening

seeing, thinking, knowing, wanting

hurting, building, staying, going

I am thankful for the small things in life

the things we forget to see and be grateful for

all the things that go unnoticed
