LGBTQ+ Characters in Video Games No.3

Hello beautiful people and welcome to the third post in my “LGBTQ+ Characters in Video Games” series, in this volume we will be discussing the character Ellie Williams from the game The Last of Us Part 1&2! Get comfy, because without further ado we will be getting into the post!

In order make it in a gruesome post apocalyptic world like “The Last of Us” universe, you need to be very skilled. Ellie Williams is a very skilled woman and I mean that in many different ways! The following is a organized list on the things that she is capable of and “gifted” with!

Immunity:

Ellie has immunity towards the virus. This info is found out in the first game when she gets bitten and winds up surviving! Normally when people are infected with the Cordyceps brain virus they don’t tend to survive. It is unknown why or how she is immune she just is.

Fire arms:

Ellie is an excellent markswoman and has a really good shot. She also is skilled in archery.

Melee:

Ellie, who has great agility and durability, is very skilled with her trusty switchblade. She uses this in many different ways including stealth kills.

Unarmed combat:

With her above average strength, reflexes, and endurance Ellie is generally able to take care of herself in a fight. Even without a knife, she’s tough!

Other things she is skilled at include first aid, climbing, remaining stealthy, explosives, swimming, and playing the guitar.

Now that we know what our hero is capable of, let’s take a quick peak into her backstory, shall we?

By the time the spring of 2019 came around, the deadly Cordyceps brain infection had already been spread out all throughout the United States of America. During this time, a woman named Anna who was a nurse gave birth to Ellie Williams. On that day, shortly after she was born, her mother sadly ed away. The whereabouts and identity of her biological father still remain unknown.

Now that we know more about our noble deuteragonist/protagonist, let’s talk more about the main point of this post:

Our hero Ellie Williams has been confirmed to be in the LGBTQ+ community! In the first game, it is revealed that she is in fact a 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻. She has had two known love interests through the duration of the the whole story. One of which she ends up adopting a kid named JJ with! Her love interests name is Dina, and I will likely do a post on her too! The other, was her best friend named Riley (who she was in love with), featured in the DLC.
