Heyo, it’s Kathy, your aspiring journalist. Today I will be tackling the subject of skoliosexuality (+ Pride month scare)

I decided to write about this topic after reading the comments of a post. I have interview two people regarding the topic. Warning, I will be using first person for some parts.

Heyo, it’s Kathy, your aspiring journa

•◦ೋ•◦❥•◦ೋ•┈┄┄┅

So, first, i decided to interview http://aminoapps.vertvonline.info/p/qirdlp :

Heya, I'm Katherine but please call me Kathy or anything along that line for short! I am just here to ask a few questions for an article on skoliosexuality.

I'd be happy to help any way I can.

Thanks! First question, what is your name?

My name's Spencer

Nice to meet you Spencer! My second question is regarding your sexuality and/or gender. What do you identify in each area?

I'm a heterosexual trans male. Though I still consider the possibility of forming connections with anyone enough to date them, I generally don't unless they identify as girls.

Alright, thats great. So, the definition of skoliosexual is, and I quote, someone who is "sexually attracted to transgender or non-binary/genderqueer people". What is your personal definition of skoliosexuality? (the question of how you feel about it will come later)

I use the same definition if we're talking about textbook . Usually I would phrase it as "someone who specifically looks for and goes after transgender people (non-binary falling under the same category of trans), whether for sexual reasons or for potential dating purposes".

Agreeable, now, how do you feel about this sexuality?

I personally feel it's extremely toxic and invalidating to people who identify as trans. By excluding cisgender people from a sexual attraction, you are saying that transgender people are different. While they technically are different because of their choices to transition to alleviate gender dysphoria, they shouldn't be classified as such unless they're talking to their doctor/medical professionals. Skoliosexuality is basically a softer version of the people that sexualize transgender people on the internet (especially) and real life. It needs to not be romanticized and called for what it is: highly inappropriate and invalidating.

Thank you for your views, do you believe skoliosexuality should be included in the LGBT+ community?

I don't believe it should ever be included, personally.

Okay thank you

Next, I interviewed http://aminoapps.vertvonline.info/p/bp5bxo

okay, Hey, Im Katherine, but please call me Kathy or anything along that line for short.  Now i have a few questions I wish to ask. well first, what is your name?

Hey!

My name's Cody, and I'm fine with you mentioning my name in the article :)

Cool! So, next question is if asking about your sexuality and/or gender. What do you identify as in both areas?

My gender is male (I'm female to male) and my sexuality doesn't really have a label, though if I have to explain it I usually go with bisexual. I'm not a big fan of naming everything or putting a label on everything :)

Alright, thats understandable!  So, the definition of skoliosexual is, and I quote, someone who is "sexually attracted to transgender or non-binary/genderqueer people". What is your personal definition of skoliosexuality? (the question of how you feel about it will come later)

My definition would be tricky since you can't tell who's transgender or not.

I'd say "a person who is sexually attracted to people with incorrect genitalia

Okay, how do you feel about skoliosexuality?

I feel very uncomfortable about it. Having gender dysphoria isn't something that people should find attractive. Like I mentioned before, how can you know someone is trans before you meet them?

So in my opinion it would be more of a kink than an actual sexuality, since it's often purely physical attraction.

You can't really exclusively like trans people because trans people are like cis people in every way besides having dysphoria.

Understandable, so, my final question(which you already touched upon): Do you think skoliosexuality should be included in the LGBT+ community?

I don't think it should, since I don't believe it's a real sexuality. But if you do feel attracted to trans people it can be very possible you're bi or pan :)

Alright, thank you

Though the topic is 'debatable', I have to agree with the two I interviewed.

Pride month scare

Heyo, it’s Kathy, your aspiring journa

Washington DC pride parade: people run for their lives once a false report of gunshots was acknowledged. There was a person seen with a gun in the area and after the incident, they were taken into custody for questioning, however, there wasn't an active shooter case. Several people were taken to the hospital for injuries while trying to escape the area.

“In all my years I have never seen this level of panic for something that didn’t occur,” a police officer who has been with the city for over a decade told the Washington Examiner.

Heyo, it’s Kathy, your aspiring journa

Unfortunately,  many people, including me, fear these kind of things at Pride parades. Most people are scared of homophobic attacks at Pride events during the month (Pride Month). Due to this fear, New York upped security at Pride parades, especially in Times Square.

Lesbian couple gets attacked in London.

Reports of homophobic hate crimes have risen in London over the last four years,, with 2,308 homephobic hate crimesreported in 2018,  from 1,488 in 2014.

On May 30th,at 2:30 or so a.m, a lesbian couple was attacked on a bus heading to Camden. The women were approached by four males who were part of a gang. The two women were punched several times and robbed, later treated at a hospital for facial injuries.

One victim, Melania Geymona, stated (in a radio interview) "We must have kissed or hugged or something like that, because right away they saw that we were together, so they came after us,”

She said that she and her girlfriend, Chris, were heading to Camden after a date when they were attacked.

This picture was posted , going viral on Facebook after the attack.
