”Demisexual is a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum defined as someone who does not experience sexual attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone.”

In other words, those who identify as demisexual only experience sexual attraction after an emotional bond has been made.

Demisexual can be viewed as a sexual orientation by itself, or combined with other orientations. For example, someone could identity as demisexual and gay, meaning they when they do experience sexual attraction it is towards the same gender.

The demisexual flag is made up of four colours, each with a different meaning-

Black-

asexuality

Grey-

asexuality and demi-sexuality

White-

sexuality

Purple-

community

It’s unknown when the flag was formed, but the flag is beginning to gain popularity along the growing awareness of the asexual community!

”Demiromantic is a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum defined as someone who does not experience romantic attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone.”

They will only feel a romantic attraction to those they have formed an emotional bond with.

Demiromantics do not experience primary romantic attraction, but they are capable of secondary romantic attraction.

Demiromantic can also be left as an orientation itself, or combined with other orientations. For example, someone could be demiromantic and homoromantic, meaning they only feel romantic attraction towards the same gender.

There are a few versions of the flag, but the colours are usually seen in with the same colours; dark green, light green, yellow, grey and a black triangle to the centred left.

These are the the two most common flags associated with the demiromantic orientation, the second one is seen as the remodelled flag!
