I believe I am a kind person, I

don't tend to jump to conclusions

and I believe I am quite understanding.

I'm extremely interested in things

like retro video games and art

I do get relatively busy here and there

as art takes a lot of time however

(as you'll see from my stats) I still

manage to be on here and active a lot.

I do have a great deal of empathy

and sympathy towards others and

look for ways to help others as much

as possible! while I was curator

previously I ended up being unable

to mentally deal with the stress

and although I am happier and better

now, sometimes I will still get panicked

and worried. my time management

hasn't been the best in the past

but I would like to say I've improved!

being curator is a great responsibility

and one I would be grateful to get

a second time.

there are some amazing people

going for curator applications this

time around and some of them are

my good friends! but how do I stand

out? I feel like I get a long with

the majority of people and with my

empathy I feel like I would give an

approachable vibe to people and that's

something I believe I could offer to

the team.

I also really enjoy helping people,

i just get a buzz out of doing something

that makes a difference to the

community (even if it is something as

plain as taking down a spam post)

like I mentioned earlier, being a curator

is a big responsibility and I feel like

I'm finally ready to take it on- and

want to. being a curator is about helping

the community and that's what I want

to do!

I was a curator for almost a month

here previously.

I've also since then been a mod for

several small communities that have

sadly became inactive :(

and I have never broken a guideline

that I can - I've been on

here for awhile

You are the only one online. There has been a small swarm of trolls that have just entered the community. 1 is spamming the feed and the other spamming chats with innapropriate content. What is your course of action?

Firstly I would inform a leader telling them what is happening and send their links to the reports chat with screenshots of what they were doing, I would disable the posts that were being spammed and kick the troll from the chats and delete the messages, apologise to the people who saw and ask them to not talk about it further as it is being dealt with. Hopefully by that point a leader had come online and would bam them, if not and if they continue I would still disable and keep as much control of the situation as possible whole messaging the trolls attempting to get them to stop.

You have disabled a post for being considered spam. They are not happy, and are starting to harass you and call you names. How do you handle the situation?

I would explain to them calmly how the post is spam and remind them that if they fix the post I can re-enable it. if they continue to call me names then I would ask them if they would like to speak to a leader to get a better explanation than I am giving and apologise for any inconveniences I may have caused.

You are moderating a chat/post, and you see an altercation between 2 or more . What’s your course of action?

I politely ask them to take it into the private messages if they have an issue and if it still continues to an extreme point, start giving warnings to people continuing about kicking them from the chat.

A member is asking for your help with a situation in their PMs about someone asking sexual/innapropriate things and or sending them. They have evidence to their claim. What do you do?

ask the person to send me an uncropped screenshot of the chat and the person's profile link where I would send it to the reports chat. Then I would ask the person to leave the conversation with the as it is being dealt with.

What would you do if you had a fight with another curator?

attempt to sort it out quickly, apologise for my part in the fight and try to understand their point better and offer to talk about it until it is fully resolved.

What would you do if a member has been posting about sensitive topics, such as suicide, or depression?

if it was an informative post without a trigger warning ask them to include one unless it contained gore or something else strictly against guidelines. I would disable those posts. however if it was about themselves I would reach out to them, still after disabling the posts and try to help in any way i could. I would also give them the link to the emergency numbers just in case.

You get a report a member of staff is abusing their power how would you approach this situation

I firstly ask for proof (screenshots) of how they had abused power and a description of the situation. if they don't have the screenshots ask them to consult one of the leaders about the situation and explain it as they did to me. if they did have screenshots I would send them to a leader.

You see a chat/post with people saying negative things about staff/a certain staff member what do you do?

if it's a chat, and politely ask them to stop as calling out staff and abuse towards staff is a guideline now and is not allowed. if they persist then I would warn them in private messages about it. If it still goes on send a message to a leader with the chat link so they could take over.

You see a curator leaking information to a member. What do you do?

Get proof for a start, screenshot it and send it straight to a leader. Leaking information is not allowed and could affect someone privately if it's about them.
