ꕥ Tell us a bit about yourself include your flaws.

I’m pretty athletic. I currently partake in Volleyball (both indoor and beach), Figure Skating, And basketball. However, I plan on dropping basketball soon because it gave me a ton of anxiety this last season. I like to think I’m funny, but I think it depends. In general, I’m a pretty nice person and I’m willing to help out anyone with anything that I can help with (in my range of abilities). I have drawn for a long time and have recently been trying to get into animation (I just wish I could understand the program :sweat_smile: ). Along with drawing, I’ve been writing since I learned to read. I was planning on going to a creative writing workshop this summer, however, with everything that’s happened, it’s been cancelled. I also play piano and try to my best to sing.

A main goal of mine is to become a therapist/relationship therapist. For school, I want to achieve great things in the sports I play and I want to play volleyball in college (which is why I’m planning on dropping basketball). I swear I’m not super obsessed with sports, it’s just something I do for fun though I can get quite competitive.

Oh man, I’m also a total anime weeb. I’ve watched so many that at this point I don’t know if I could name them all. Haikyu!!, Yuri On Ice!!!, Violet Evergarden, The Promised Neverland, BNHA, Plastic Memories, Your Lie In April, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Cells at Work etc. Are just a few favorites I can list off the top of my head.

It’s not really in my nature to be mean or rude to anyone. I’ve always kept a professional attitude in online or social situations. I have a good amount of patience as well. I’m a logical person so it’s hard for me to get caught up in hysteria or anger, especially to people I don’t know. I’m hardworking and I hold myself to a high standard that I try my best to uphold.

Along the lines of flaws, I tend to have trouble speaking in front of people (anxiety, yay) but I don’t think that applies here. I can be a bit stubborn when I do have an opinion, but in general I’m pretty open minded. I work hard on professionalism in all the things I do, but I do tend to joke around and sometimes that can be taken out of context. I can be a little hyper/energetic at times but I think that’s good-

ꕥ Tell us why you would like to be a curator, what you can offer the team and community. As well as why we should choose you.

I have quick response times. I’m pretty much always online with quarantine and I will get back quickly with anyone who s me (minus sleeping hours). I am a bit of a night owl so the times I’m active can be weird but I am consistently active in those times. I am very responsible and I am a generally happy person on here. I try my best to keep my personal life/issues out of Amino and i believe that is a good thing.

I won’t bring unnecessary drama here. I’ll be friendly with the community, but I don’t know anyone outside of the staff so I can’t be swayed or biased in that kind of sense. I’m pretty bipartisan as well so I judge posts on merits. I do have my own sense of what’s right and wrong, but I do really try to see other points of view.

I’m, in general, a nice and friendly person. I always prefer a kind approach to situations and I like to hear on what I can do better and what is going well. I’m always here to listen to anything someone wants to tell me and I would love to help out the community. We just reached one million s! That’s insane! But I also know that means we need a lot more hands on deck. I’d be excited and happy to help keep s safe. I believe that curators are basically just servants of the people (if that’s the right wording?) we need to listen and understand issues that are happening. So I intend to help do that. I can be stern when needed, but the open listening approach I find works better.

Yes! I’m proud to say I was a curator on this very amino not too long ago! I left for personal reasons, but I have a lot more free time now and I can dedicate a lot of my energy to this team. I have experience leading clubs and other school related activities.

I broke a flashing gifs rule way way back when I had just ed this amino. The curator who spoke to me was very kind and I was quick to fix it as I had not been aware of it at the time.

ꕥ Explain your personality a bit to us.

I’m very open and friendly! I love talking to people and meeting new people, but I rather that through the internet and not face to face. I tend to get nervous then :sweat_smile: . Starting conversations? Not my specialty, but I am a bit of a “live wire” as my school issions official once said. I have a sorta fear of heights but I wouldn’t say anything is a BIG fear of mine.

I’m pretty level headed and logical, but I do like to get pretty joke-y with friends. I’m always watching what I say though. Every message I send usually has a little thought around it. I think about how I’m phrasing something, how punctuation changes the meaning, etc. I just want as little confusion as possible when I communicate through text.

Scenarios

1.

You are the only one online. There has been a small swarm of trolls that have just entered the community. One is spamming the feed and the other spamming chats with innapropriate content. What is your course of action?

Deal with the chats first. I need to report the s to a reports chat with screenshots and then I need to deal with the feed. Trolls will be sent to reports and hopefully, when a leader is on, they’ll be banned quickly after. I also need to remove them from chats.

You have disabled a post for being considered spam. They are not happy, and are starting to harass you and call you names. How do you handle the situation?

I would let the names roll off of me. They’re just angry and I’m sure they will calm down soon enough. I would calmly explain what happened and wait for them to calm down. I would also let the team know of the situation so they are aware of what’s happening. Communication is key and I believe that’s a main attribute of mine as well. The big idea in this situation, for me, Is to stay calm and collected.

You are moderating a chat/post, and you see an altercation between 2 or more . What's your course of action?

First, I need to get both sides or just scroll up and understand what happened. I would then warn them to take it elsewhere or to stop fighting. If they do not listen and the fighting escalates, I would need to take formal action such as warning them in PM (if it became harassment or extreme name calling) and perhaps removing them from the chat, but only if necessary.

A member is asking for your help with a situation in their PMs about someone asking sexual/innapropriate things and or sending them. They have evidence to their claim. What do you do?

I would first ask for the evidence (an Uncropped screenshot). If they cannot provide this, then there isn’t anything I can do. If they do have this evidence and it is clearly inappropriate, I would assure them I am handling the situation and then I’d send the screenshots and profile for (depending on severity) a warning or strike. I’d also PM the accused with a verbal warning.

What would you do if you had a fight with another curator?

I mean, I doubt that would happen as I like peace, not war, but if it did happen, I don’t see it affecting how I think about them as a person. I wouldn’t let it affect my work or how I interact with them. ive aggressiveness is not helpful.

Again, I highly doubt this would happen as I do love the leaders :two_hearts:

But, if that were to happen, I believe that it wouldn’t affect how I work with the leader or how I interact.

What would you do if a member has been posting about sensitive topics, such as suicide, or depression?

Well, depending on the severity/Explicitness I would need to either a) ask for a trigger warning or (in extreme explicitness) B) disable the post and message the . In the message I’m sure it link the hotlines, but if not, I’d link them and offer to listen to any trouble they may have.

You get a report a member of staff is abusing their power how would you approach this situation

I would first approach the team/staff member that is accused and ask about it. Then I would message a leader to let them know of the issue. If there’s something truly incriminating, It needs to be handled by the leaders.

You see a chat/post with people saying negative things about staff/a certain staff member what do you do?

I would suggest them move on from the topic as at a certain point it does become harassment. If it’s truly bad (name calling, being extremely, unnecessarily rude/violent towards the staff member) I would need to step in and warn them in PMs and send serious harassers to Leaders.

In posts, it works generally the same for me. I think I’d judge it based on severity. Constructive Criticism is okay, pure hate/violence towards them is disable worthy.

You see a curator leaking information to a member. What do you do?

Well, for one, that’s not allowed, it’s against staff code. So with conclusive evidence, I’d need to report it to a leader.
