Candlelight (poem)

Flickering,

Flickering,

Almost out,

Ah, not yet.

A love-swollen heart,

A specter of a hand in mine,

Her memories kissing my mind,

Past whispers of her voice

Serenade me,

Haunt me.

The candlelit walls

Display our stories,

All our smiles,

All our laughter.

All our kisses and hugs,

The loving looks.

The calming brush of her hands

Butterfly embraces,

Sweet nothings

Hushed by the sands of time.

Poof,

Out,

Out,

The candle is done.
