Um. I guess this is my first post on this Amino. On this , actually.

Anyway, I just wanted to draw my two OCs and I’m postin’ it here because I thought it fit.

These two boys are Ozzy (left)(also, he’s not a self-insert, our names are just the same bc I’m trans and I thought the name Ozzy was cute) and Preston (right). I really like Preston’s character but I can barely draw him so it kinda sucks.

So this clearly isn’t my best work of art but it’s something.

I suppose I should probably introduce them too…

I’m not going to go into too much detail (spoiler alert…I do) because I simply don’t want to, so I’ll just list some important facts about these two.

Ozzy is basically my most edgy OC, although I really really hate that about him. I try to balance it out, but it still bugs me.

Though, I do think it’s funny how Preston is in all black and he’s still not the edgy one.

Their story might have to be changed to be more serious simply because of their personalities, but that doesn’t matter rn.

Anyway, some things happened in his past and he went through some emo phase, started bringing weapons around. Y’know…as we all do.

You might be asking, “Then why is this guy smiling then?” And to answer your question, I just think he’s pretty.

In all seriousness, he just really gets along with Preston. It’s almost as if he’s crushing on him…

But he’s not gay.

…

No. Yeah, he’s definitely gay.

But, yeah, he just likes Preston a lot. Not even in a romantic way, he just genuinely likes hanging out with him. Sure he can be insanely pushy and stupid, but he just makes Ozzy feel good. After everything that has happened to him and the people he’s been near, meeting Preston was like a breath of fresh air.

Still, there were some conflicts when they first met. Preston wasn’t as considerate as a kid as he is now. He wasn’t good at understanding other people really, which is why he said some pretty rude stuff to Ozzy.

It took a bit for them to actually become friends because of Preston’s poor word choice, but when they did, they were practically inseparable. They walked to school together, Preston would sleep at his house pretty often, and they were nearly always seen together at school.

Despite this, it took them years to figure out their true feelings. Preston thought about it many times actually for a “straight guy” but due to the beliefs he was taught, he tried to push though it.

Going back on topic, Ozzy was always the gay guy in my story. I honestly think that’s all he was. Plus, Preston was dating a girl (who is now living their best non-binary life)…

I like his character so much that he has morphed into more of a main character. Therefore, I hope to God that he’s more than just the token gay guy.

Since I already talked a bit about Preston, I’ll just sum his character up for you.

Preston’s family life was never the best. His mom and dad didn’t get along, and his dad had dumb expectations for him.

Not only were his parents really Christian and conservative, they were also really strict with school, and stuff like that. His mom was pretty lenient, but his dad wasn’t.

Preston was his only son, so of course he had higher expectations. From an outsider’s perspective, it could just seem like he cared about his son, but that wasn’t it at all.

He was selfish, and in doing so, his strict attitude toward Preston (and his wife) was borderline abusive.

Growing up, Preston became a pretty cynical person, and became the exact person he grew to hate so much. In school, he socialized and bullied just to be popular. He hated these fake ass teenagers, but he knew he wasn’t any better.

After his mom died, he lost all sense of kindness. He showed no sympathy, no remorse. He was rude to the weak and hung out with the popular kids.

He didn’t really understand why he did it, but he definitely came to with it. He just wanted to impress his father. Sure, he must’ve hated him for the insane expectations put on him and the pain he brought to his family, but he was still his dad. The man who raised him to be a good man. The man who he wanted to hear say “I’m proud of you” again.

When he met Ozzy, he was just curious about him. It wasn’t anything too wild like “all that changed when he met Ozzy~” or any of that nonsense. He was just curious.

Ozzy was weird. He had a ponytail, something Preston thought was weird for a guy to have. His hair was bleached, which Preston has always seen as somewhat delinquent.

He was a quiet kid, and he just killed the mood every time he walked into class. It was like he made everybody else sad by him being sad.

Preston had never seen someone actively show their true self in front of others before. His mom would lie about her bruises. His father would lie about caring about him. His friends would lie and say Preston was a good person. Everyone lied.

He hated liars. He hated himself for it, he can it just that much. But, this guy, he didn’t seem like a liar. He never walked around with a fake smile plastered on his face. He would see that stuff all the time, and it probably annoyed him the most. Especially when his mom would do it.

Intrigued, he started to mess with him a bit. Although, he really didn’t mean any harm, he just came off as…a bit of an asshole, to be honest.

During class, he would just stare at the back of his head, not stopping when Ozzy clearly told him to stop. One day, he just started touching his hair (he’s a stupid 13-year-old, don’t question it)(*realizes I’m 13*)

Well, Ozzy sneezes and gets his hair nearly pulled out by the guy who sits behind him.

I hate this story so much and I won’t go in-detail because it’s stupid, but after a few months, they become friends…sort of.

Jeez, I wrote a bit too much. And now that I’m rereading it, I think this story is kinda stupid. Anyway, don’t blame me, I’m almost 14 and I kinda have no idea how to write good characters.

Um. So, I just hope you like the drawing. I didn’t mean to talk so much about my silly characters.
