Hey guys it's me the brick boss here and today will be taking a look at sonic wave 4 this wave has four sets and one poly bag one of these sets is a redeemable on the Lego website so unfortunately this one cannot be purchased but we will be talking about it later we have some new Minifigures being added to the Sonic line which we will talk about as well so without further ado let's get started on our first set Sonic's campfire clash

this has one minifigure Sonic. First build I want to talk about is the speed sphere launcher which is just as it always has been it's built exactly the same as they have been for the last four waves the only difference is Lego has gone lazy and no longer gives it the spring print on the surface of the button you slam down which is quite frustrating. Next you have a small base plate to wear Sonic sits with a campfire and one of the chaos emeralds. There is also three rings for him to collect as well. Next you have the gun robots the first one is just one of the normal robots one of his hands is a gun the other is able to hold an accessory if you so choose to give it to him. One of them is a flying drone type build with a gun attached to it which does look quite nice overall. Unfortunately there is not a whole lot to this set I feel like they could have added at least one more of the small robots or one of the drones to make this a little bit more of a solid set. But that's all I have for this set so let's move on to the price per piece. They set has 177 pieces and retails for $24 Canadian. Next set we're going to be taking a look at is cyclone versus metal Sonic

this set has two minifigures. The build for this is the cyclone which is in the yellow and blue color scheme like it was in Sonic adventures 2 a nice thing is tails logo printed which is very nice and definitely a great feature to this set. This build is able to transform from Mech mode to jet mode very easily by just folding it down and the gun up to make it ready to fly I do like the fact that they are actually starting to take things from actual video games instead of just pulling things out of nowhere like knuckles Guardian Mech from last year honestly I do like the fact that they're starting to take from video games and especially something that's very nice is all three of these sets are based on Sonic adventure 2 which is very nice. Also the nice thing about this that is that it is the first time we are seeing metal Sonic being put into a set as well. I also really do love the way tails Mech is able to turn into a jet and it looks very accurate too the Source material from the game as well. But honestly I think they should have added a little bit more to this set to make it feel a little bit more closer to its price. But with that being said let's move on to the price per piece. This has 290 piece and retails for $39 Canadian. Next set we're going to be taking a look at is super Shadow versus biolizard

this set has two minifigures super sonic and super Shadow. First build I want to talk about is the speed sphere launcher which uses the same build as all the other speed spheres the only difference is this one is the translucent yellow coloring. But that's really all then there is for the speed sphere. Now buy a lizard is pretty accurate to what it is in the video game and the play feature for this is the speeds fear knocks off the energy core on his back with the stud shooters and reveals one of the chaos emeralds which is the yellow one. Honestly I feel like there could have been a little bit of lab equipment built For this set and given a little bit more for what you get. I do think the bio lizard build is very nice especially with the Green tubing around him as well. I think the fact that they did want to take a lot of this wave from Sonic adventure 2 is very nice at least it's a consistent wave this year which is very nice this all comes from a single game it is not just some random different sets put together into a wave Just like last year's. Honestly I do like this set for the bio lizard build and for the fact that we do get super Sonic and super Shadow in one set. But that's all I have for this set so let's move on to the price per piece. This set has 419 pieces and retails for $59 Canadian. Next set we're going to be taking a look at is badnik crabmeat

this set has one little animal in it the little turtle. The build for this is a giant metal crab which is in the red and light gray color scheme I think it looks very nice there is a little compartment to put a little turtle in so the crabmeat can activate. Honestly this feels more like a brick heads than anything it's pretty much made on the 6x6 base plate that they're usually on and it has a little bit of a grassy terrain that the crab sits on too be displayed. I think they did a really decent job on creating this set in general I do think the articulation to be able to make the crab legs and arms move look very decent and definitely are done quite well the possibility is phenomenal and is definitely a worthwhiled set to own. The terrain is quite nice it uses the nexo Knight shield as kind of a transition of the terrain with the different types of brown bricks on the bottom and the two different types of green at the top giving it the pixelated look. But that's all I have for this so let's move on to the price per piece. This set has 181 pieces and as far as I know retails for $19 Canadian. But cost $2,000 Insider points to purchase. Last thing we're going to be taking a look at is the poly bag which is balkiry attack

this set has zero minifigures the only thing it does have is the tiny chicken. The build is the metal badnik bird which is a nice build overall it's a classic bad guy builds which is very common for classic Sonic this can be found in a few different levels from the original Sonic games which is very nice. And even if you want to grab a couple of these and add these into your Sonic collections I would definitely recommend it overall there is nothing exclusive to this set the eyes are even reused from previous sets from the last few years. But that's all I have for this set so let's move on to the price per piece. This has 42 pieces and retails for $5 Canadian. Now let's move on to my final thoughts.

Honestly this wave is the best way we've gotten from Sonic so far it's good when they stick to at least one game for a wave so it's not like it feels like they go together like these ones do they are all from one game not from many different things they decide to pick and choose builds from different video games I want something that just comes from one game and get a whole bunch of sets for the wave that they're releasing from not game and that game only. Honestly that is pretty much my only complaint about Sonic in general except this wave. We did get some great Minifigures like super Shadow and the new released metal Sonic as well. I definitely would recommend all of these sets to anyone who wants some great Sonic sets especially some from Sonic adventure 2. I hope this helps anyone who is looking into getting these sets in the future but this has been the brick boss and I will see you all in the next sonic review
