welp, late as always, aren't I...
So I saw this hashtag and decided that looked like something fun to , so I decided to combine the topic of easter with one of my favourite things, historical accuracy!

So this is a small panorama of sorts, let's break it down section by section, shall we?

First off is the section by the road. Now it might confuse some of you that I placed the cross here, instead of on the hill itself, but historically we know crucifixions happened by busy travel routes, and the site golgotha probably was at (the place of the church of the holy sepulchre (wait what is a sepulchre? Anyway moving on)) was right by a busy road towards Damascus.

Also, the road would've been wider than this, I only included like half of it, if even that (and it would definitely have lots of market stalls either side of it too)
Moving deeper, we find what the bible might describe as a "garden" but we in the modern day would call a farm. Specifically this was a farm where they grew grapes (very common in Israel).

Finally, we come to the most important part (which probably wouldn't have been THIS close to the actual crucifixion site, though we know from some bible verse it was somewhat close by), the grave.

Unfortunately I only had the pieces for one guard, but I think he works fine. You might also notice the fact that there's no giant boulder in front of the entrance, but well, let's move further inside, shall we?

You see, the stone and such might seem odd and almost fairytale-like to us now, but it was an essential part of jewish upper-class graves like the one Joseph of Arimathea donated. The room we see here was where relatives and friends could come to mourn, and because digging caves is quite a hassle, they would have family grave caves (ay that rhymes), with multiple small graves coming out of this main room in the middle (which would've had a curved ceiling, but well, I didn't make a ceiling). Thing is, it can be pretty distracting to your mourning if you can... well, smell the corpse, and that's why the stone was there.

Anyway, that's all for now, I really should sleep, I'll see you all later, bye!

No problem! ^u^
Love the Roman legionnaire, would like to make an amrmy but I have a feeling it would break the bank
Thanks! I don't actually have the legionnaire from minifigures series 5, so this is a centurion with headgear removed, a classic spear and one of the shield pieces from Lloyd's journey (Ninjago)
I too wish I had a roman army, but alas, the prices on the legionnaires are probably sky high
