He was so stupid!
He knew things were getting worse. He knew Sofie was suffering but completely ignored it, just like now. He should have said something, anything. But that might stress Sofiel out too much, she might start to spiral and lash out. Usually it was best to avoid that.
He loved her. He loved her more than anything. But, how could she keep something like this from him for so long. He could have handled it, he could have helped her. Did she really think that he was as weak as all that.
It wasn't fair. She must have been so lonely and afraid. That was why she was so tired and jumpy recently. That bastard, the "False God" as everyone seemed to call him now, was torturing her. It must have been awful, and what was worse was that she was still serving him!
It didn't make sense, Sofiel has never been easily influenced. It had to be some kind of mind control, or maybe some kind of stockholm syndrome. Or maybe... she was in love with him.
No! No, it couldn't be, Sofie wouldn't love someone so horrible. That had to be his jealousy taking control. Hopefully.
The whole situation was so absurd. She didn't just betray him but the entire Heavens as well. Sofiel was loyal to a fault, she was desperate to prove that she was just as valuable as the other angels after she left the institution, and then she turns around and does this?
Suddenly, all Tristan could think about was how everyone looked down on Sofie after she was discharged. All the horrible rumors he would hear about her in ing were awful. He would never say anything because they ultimately didn't matter and he knew the truth.
But now he wasn't so sure anymore.
She must be torturing herself right now. He shouldn't have left so quickly. He should have talked to her. But he was afraid, he worked hard to get into heaven and if her story got out they would both be banished. A selfish reason ittedly.
Then again, it wouldn't be so bad if he was with Sofiel. They made a great team and could accomplish anything. Others say that they were an odd pair, which was true, but they were completely unstoppable.
He ed how terrified Sofie was when Erutan came. How afraid she was that she wasn't perfect enough to exist. Tristan had met Erutan briefly and they really did seem so bad, maybe a bit judgmental, but not nearly as cold and ruthless as she made them out to be.
She would stay up for nights on end because of the nightmares that plagued her. She would come over to his house and climb into bed with him, it was really cute. She would do the same thing when he stayed up late due to his absurd study habits. She would come to his house and force him to sleep by snuggling with him.
Her hair was so soft, and she purred when she was petted. They knew everything about eachother and there was so many things about Sofiel that was absolutely beautiful that no one else knew. And when they talked it was always electric and safe, even the most painful confessions. Well, except for now.
God, what was he doing!
He couldn't lose her! She meant more to him than anything in the world. He would follow her anywhere and give up anything for her if it means she was happy. He still didn't trust that False God, he would have to meet him for himself to get a real opinion on him.
And he couldn't deny the jealousy he had towards him. Even though, there was no way that she would love someone like him. And even if she was being mind controlled, he would figure it out. She'd never fall in love with the bastard. Never.
But that didn't matter right now, he had to go find her and apologize. He just hopes that she didn't get herself into any trouble.
