I should have told him sooner. It would definitely made things easier. Maybe it wouldn't be as overwhelming. It definitely wouldn't be as painful.
She told him everything.
From the moment she met the false god to when she had snuck down to his cell to talk to him. He hadn't interrupted her once, that worried her. She talked so long her throat started to hurt, she certainly won't forget how pale and shook up he looked when her story finally came to an end. He said that he needed time to think, and then ran out before she could say anything.
It was over. She blew it. She had just driven away her best friend and love of her life. There was nothing left to live for.
The next 72 hours were a blur as she layed on the floor contemplating what she should do now. Technically, she did have a plan. She could still follow Yaldabaoth and help him with his new goal of starting a foster home for anyone who wanted simply to live in peace. A noble cause for sure. But, what was the point?
No one had the patience to deal with her. Sure, Yaldabaoth put up with her, but that was only because they had a history and he has this newfound obsessive desire to be a father to everything that moved. Everyone else found her offensive and annoying. Insane even.
Insane...
Insane...?
Yes, that's it. Insane.
The room started to gently rock back and forth, as if she was on a boat instead of her own house.
She ed the storms she made out on the coasts. Those were always the biggest, and the most destructive. She was proud of her storms, they were big, chaotic, and loud. She loved the noise, it kept her thoughts and feelings away. Made her feel powerful.
But it was all so hollow. No one respected her, they thought she was going to fall at any moment. She had no one.
Tristan changed all that. He was either very brave or very stupid, but he helped her to heal and integrate back into society. He stayed her friend through thick and thin. It only got better when they started to fall in love.
But that's also when the lies started.
He knew that she was lying, he wasn't stupid. But he never said anything. He always trusted that she could figure it out. But not this time.
Not this time...
She ruined all the trust they had between them. Now there was nothing left for her.
Maybe it was for the better. He deserved someone better than her. Someone who wasn't insane, someone who wouldn't betray his trust along with heaven itself. She didn't think about that until now. Tristan could report her, God knows he had every right to. Not that it really mattered to her anymore. There was nothing left for her in Heaven, there never really was.
She didn't want to help anyone either. She didn't care anymore, she wanted to be selfish. She wanted to run away to where no one could find her, curl up and die. The universe would be better off without her. She didn't want to exist.
