Apparition

──────────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────────

Apparition is teleportation via the use

of magic. To apparate, the has to

focus on their desired location and then

turn on the spot. If successful, they

         will disappear from their original

location and reappear at their desired

location. Apparition is not a skill

exclusive to wizards; other beings and

creatures can apparate as well. To House

         Elves, Phoenixes or Diricawls,

apparition is second nature and requires

far less focus than for wizards.

         ╭──────╮

              Pros

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_check_mark: Apparition uses wandless magic

Although the use of a wand is

         recommended to decrease the difficulty

of Apparition, it can be done wandlessly.

This makes Apparition a useful mode of

         transportation in any given situation,

         especially when one finds themselves

wandless in the face of danger.

         :heavy_check_mark: Extreme flexibility

Theoretically, you can apparate to any

location, provided you can picture it in

your mind and are strong and skilled

enough to execute the magic. To apparate

         successfully, the Three Ds:

         Destination, Determination, and

         Deliberation.

         :heavy_check_mark: Speed

Apparition is one of the fastest ways to

travel. Once you disappear, you reappear

at your desired location within seconds.

This means that Apparition requires next

         to no planning ahead.

         :heavy_check_mark: Sidealong Apparition

Wizards who apparate do not have to

travel alone. They can take one or

more people with them via Sidealong

         Apparition. This way, even underage

         wizards or people incapable of

         apparating themselves can travel via

         Apparition.

         ╭──────╮

              Cons

         ╰──────❍

:heavy_multiplication_x: Apparition is difficult and risky

Apparition is an advanced magical skill.

If executed improperly or if the

lacks skill or loses focus, they risk

         splinching. Splinching means that parts

of the ’s clothes or even entire

body parts are left behind at the

         original location. Depending on the

severity of the injuries, splinching can

         be life threatening and requires

         immediate medical attention.

         Even when done properly, Apparition

might cause dizziness, nausea and an

         uncomfortable feeling of disorientation.

s also risk drawing the attention of

Muggles as Apparition often emits loud

noises. Only with lots of practice can

         the skill be executed completely

         silently.

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Limited range

While you can apparate anywhere in

theory, the distance is limited in

         practice. The difficulty increases the

further away you are from your desired

location, and so does the risk of

splinching. While it is possible to

         apparate intercontinentally, only

         extremely skilled and powerful wizards

can do so without harming themselves. It

is also extremely difficult to apparate

to places you haven’t visited before as

the needs to be able to visualise

         their desired location clearly.

Some locations are also equipped with

         anti-apparition spells, such as

         Hogwarts, Gringotts or Azkaban, making

it impossible for wizards to apparate to

or from that location unless granted

         special permission.

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Apparition License

Apparition without a license is illegal

         in many countries including Great

Britain. To take the Apparition test,

you have to be of age. This means that

         underage wizards cannot apparate unless

they travel sidealong with an adult.

         However, some countries have legalised

         underage Apparition.

Floo Network

──────────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────────

The Floo Network is a connection of

         ageways leading from one fireplace

to another. The only needs to step

into the fireplace, speak their desired

location out loud and toss a handful of

         Floo Powder into the flames.

[B]
[BC]─

         ╭──────╮

              Pros

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_check_mark: Low-risk

The Floo Network is a reliable, low-risk

         mode of transportation. Although the

traveller might end up at a different

location if they do not speak clearly

enough, accidents and injuries are rare.

         However, travellers might experience

loud sounds and a feeling of nausea if

they are not used to Flooing.

         :heavy_check_mark: Convenience and accessibility

Flooing requires next to no experience,

practice or any kind of magical skill.

It can be used by children as soon as

they are able to speak. Infants may

travel with an adult or older sibling.

The Floo Network is widespread, granting

access to over a thousand wizarding

homes and public places in Britain

alone, and even Muggle homes if a

         connection is established by the

Ministry of Magic. The Floo Network can

be used to travel internationally even

across entire continents and oceans. It

         can also transport inanimate objects.

         :heavy_check_mark: Head-Only transport

The Floo Network can be used as a

communication device. A wizard can put

their head through the fire without

having to travel to a different location

entirely. This method can even be used

if full body transportation is not

         possible.

         ╭──────╮

              Cons

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Lack of flexibility

Flooing only works from fireplace to

fireplace and the connection has to be

established by the Ministry of Magic.

This makes the Floo Network one of the

         least flexible transportation methods

due to the limited amount of

         destinations. Travellers may have to

combine Flooing with other means of

         transportation.

Portkeys

──────────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────────

Instead of apparating, a wizard can use a

Portkey to teleport from one location to

         another. Portkeys are enchanted objects

that are activated when touched. The

incantation Portus can turn almost any

         object into a Portkey.

Which Wizarding Transportation Method is the best?-[C]ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ
[B]
[BC]─

         ╭──────╮

              Pros

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_check_mark: Convenience

Travelling by Portkey requires no magical

         skill unless you’re enchanting the

Portkey yourself. Portkeys can reach any

         destination no matter the distance.

s may travel alone or even in large

groups and with any kind of inanimate

objects in tow as long as they can hold

on to them until they reach the

         destination. Unlike Apparition, using a

Portkey doesn’t require any knowledge of

         the destination. Furthermore, this mode

of transportation does not require any

supplies aside from the Portkey itself.

:heavy_check_mark: A Portkey for every occasion

There are various types of Portkeys to

suit different needs. Some Portkeys stay

inactive unless they are touched. Other

Portkeys have a set departure time and

         can be handled without consequences

before and after. Objects can be

enchanted to reactivate after a certain

time and will return to their original

         location to be reused.

         ╭──────╮

              Cons

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Portkey abuse

While the unauthorized creation of a

Portkey might be punishable by law, any

skilled wizard can create one. Since

almost any object can become a Portkey

         and Portkeys are visually

         indistinguishable from their unenchanted

         counterparts, criminals may enchant

         ordinary objects to abduct unsuspecting

         targets.

Broomsticks

──────────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────────

Broomsticks are one of the oldest means

of magical transportation and are used

worldwide. They gain their ability to

fly through a variety of enchantments.

The earliest recorded use of a

broomstick for flying dates back to the

year 962. Over the centuries, broomstick

         manufacturing has improved massively

and today’s modern brooms are a far cry

         from their crude ancestors. Broomsticks

are not only used for transportation but

also for sports and entertainment, most

notably in Quidditch, Quodpot or broom

racing. The modern broom is a status

symbol with luxury brooms selling for

         enormous amounts of Galleons.

Which Wizarding Transportation Method is the best?-[C]ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ ꜜ
[B]
[BC]─

         ╭──────╮

              Pros

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_check_mark: Variety

While most other means of transportation

are limited when it comes to performing

         alterations, broomstick manufacturing

         companies refuse to limit themselves.

Broomsticks come in all shapes, sizes

and price ranges. Some brooms are highly

         specialised and equipped with

         state-of-the-art patented enchantments,

such as the ones used by the national

Quidditch teams. Others are designed for

a broad spectrum of occasions. Some

         broomsticks come with extra cushioning

         charms for comfortable travel or

         increased stability for long-distance

         travelling.

         :heavy_check_mark: Easy to use

While flying a broomstick takes some

practice, it is not a particularly hard

skill to learn for casual flyers. Flying

is part of the regular Hogwarts

         curriculum for first years. However,

many wizards learn to fly much sooner as

toy brooms are very popular among

         wizarding families. Flying requires no

         special permits.

         ╭──────╮

              Cons

         ╰──────❍

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Slow travelling

While virtually any destination can be

reached if you’re a skilled flyer with a

sturdy broomstick, it is one of the

         slowest modes of wizarding

         transportation. Unlike instant

         transportation methods like Apparition

         or Flooing, broomstick travel requires

the to factor in distance and

         weather conditions. It is less

         convenient for international and

         intercontinental travel as the is

required to spend long hours in the air.

         Long-distance travel also requires a

knowledge of navigation tools or spells.

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Lack of space

Brooms are designed to fit one or at

most two wizards at the same time.

This means that group travel is only

possible if each member of the group

         posesses their own broom. Travellers

also have to figure out a way to transport

their luggage since trunk space is limited.

         :heavy_multiplication_x: Maintenance

         Broomsticks require upkeep as

enchantments might wear off over time.

On top of that, broomsticks should be

         cleaned, trimmed and polished regularly

for a safe and comfortable flight.

Other Methods

──────────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────────

       Flying Creatures

         Thestrals, Hippogriffs and other flying

creatures are a good alternative for

those who don’t enjoy flying by broom.

         However, such creatures require space,

         food, medical attention and enrichment,

making them a time-intensive and costly

         transportation method for most wizards.

[BC]─

       Enchanted Muggle Vehicles

Muggle vehicles such as cars and

motorbikes can be enchanted to fly. This

requires a certain degree of magical

skill. However, the use of such

enchanted vehicles is illegal under the

         Misuse of Muggle Artefacts laws.

[B]
[BC]─

       Flying Carpets

Flying Carpets are a common method of

transportation in Asia and the Middle

East and are convenient if one travels

with lots of luggage or wants to

         transport larger objects. In Britain

they are classed as Muggle artifacts and

are illegal to use. The import of Flying

         Carpets into Britain is banned.

       Ground Travel

There are various methods of ground

travel available to wizards, such as the

Knight Bus or the Hogwarts Express.

These are convenient for shorter or

medium distances over land but might be

slower and less flexible than other

         methods of transportation.

       Enchanted ageways

         The term “Enchanted ageways”

can be used to describe a variety of

miscellaneous ways to travel from one

place to another via a fixed connection.

         Vanishing Cabinets fall under this

category. They are one of the least

flexible ways to travel and are hard to

obtain for the average wizard due to

         their rarity. Other examples of

         Enchanted ageways are the

Ministry of Magic Toilet Network as

well as certain secret ages in and

         around Hogwarts.

I love this! You smashed working this out, and please let Aladdin know that I don't like flying carpets. It's too high, and the risk of falling off is too big. Too dangerous for clumsy people like me, hence why the low risk floo fits me best
