Hey guys! Welcome back to another Durmstrang blog. For our topic this week we have… a quiz!! We put on our thinking caps and thought “hmmm. A quiz on Hogsmeade could be fun.” And here we are! We hope you enjoy.

The Three Broomsticks is located in Hogsmeade and owned by Madam Rosmerta. It is seen many times throughout the Harry Potter films due to it being a popular hangout spot. Firewhiskey and Butterbeer were the most popular drinks at The Three Broomsticks, and that’s what most of the students could be seen ordering. It has a comfortable atmosphere and is a common hangout spot amongst the Hogwarts students. The drinks served were often very fancy, Firewhiskey and Butterbeer were served in glasses and pewter tankards.

Before it was owned by Madam Rosmerta, it was owned by Sirona Ryan. It is said that Madam Rosmerta began running The Three Broomsticks in the 1990’s.

The Shrieking Shack is another location in Hogsmeade and it was often known to be haunted. The reason behind this however, is due to the fact that many villagers heard screaming coming from inside of the shack. Albus Dumbledore is the one who encouraged these rumors, in order to take suspicion off of the true case, which was Remus Lupin.

When Remus Lupin attended Hogwarts, he needed a place to go that was safe for him to transform into a werewolf on full moons. Dumbledore then suggested the Shrieking Shack and Remus started going there and transforming. This way, he would be by himself and unable to harm others. Madam Pomfrey would go with Remus and wait outside the shack, all of the screaming that villagers heard was due to Remus biting and scratching himself as there were no humans to attack with werewolf instinct.

No one ever went to the Shrieking Shack minus adults sometimes and Remus of course, this was because the entrance to the shack was also the base of the Whomping Willow. There is a way to paralyze the Whomping Willow, you poke the knot on its trunk. The Marauders Map showed the secret entrance to the Shrieking Shack, but it is not a well known ageway.

Zonko’s Joke Shop is a wizarding prank shop in Hogsmeade, Scotland. At least by 1890, it was a favorite place for Hogwarts students to shop at on Hogsmeade trips. In the 1980s, Bilton Bilmes owned it. During the 1987-1988 school year, Bilmes considered shutting it down after a review from Rita Skeeter. However, he was persuaded by students and professor McGonagall to keep it. Then during the time Harry was at Hogwarts, Fred and George used it as inspiration to open up their own joke shop.

I first used Pixelcut to format the images I took from Pinterest, then using Picsart, i added a pastel background, adding in my moodboard, then added a few sweet stickers ( pun intended), no filter this time, as the sweets are the main stars here.

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 :: I started with collecting honey related images, images of hogsmeade and honeydukes itself from Pinterest and google. Then I made a collage from them, rearranged them and applied some psd’s over them. Then I slightly edited them until I was satisfied and I ended up at this. Thank you for reading.
