Dear Michael Gambon,

And my dear HPA! This afternoon around

1PM BST it was released    that the actor

Michael Gambon,   who   plays Professor

Dumbledore in the   movies Prisoners of

Azkaban and   others    has ed away

today!

With heartfelt regret,        I       bring      my

condolences to all Harry Potter fans who

have grown up   with     their          beloved

Heaster Dumbledore in the pictures.

It is a sad day   for   we might never see a

‘new’ film     where   Michael acts in but in

proper respect to the actor and his family,

I wish to pay    my   respects by giving the

community    a   heartfelt     tribute to this

intrigue character;        Heaster Albus

Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.

According to Parade,   Michael explained

that Dumledore   was one of the trickiest

characters he’s   ever   played. Which was

because      of   Dumbledore’s quotes that

were delivered   right    through the series.

He found his words    lived     through and

special, which    was   hard to grasp as an

actor but he finds   him     one of the most

important      figures    in      the   saga and

therefore had to find   a rhythm and metre

in his    dialogue   to     play    the part well

enough.

"Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it." - Albus Dumbledore

"Youth can not know how age thinks and feels, but old men are guilty if they forget what it is to be young." - Albus Dumbledore

I find   that       Albus   Dumbledore was a

character in the   Harry Potter series that

had a   profound     lived-through wisdom

that brought   us    all    some life lessons

inside of the   Harry    Potter     books and

movies. Sometimes   what     I   find most

appealing about older book characters is

how they     easily   become    a    division

between what is young and pure minded

and what     has   already     lived         and

experienced.      There’s     a      fine line of

matureness   with   some of the adults in

this series    and   I    truly     think       that

Dumbeldore began shouting quotes and

staple   pieces   only after a certain time

in his life.

“I DON'T CARE!" Harry yelled at them, snatching up a lunascope and throwing it into the fireplace. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH, I'VE SEEN ENOUGH, I WANT OUT, I WANT IT TO END, I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!"

"You do care," said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. "You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

For some    reason,    Dumbledore      has

always been a vocal   point of advice for

Harry Potter.   Harry shows his emotions

and is allowed to   feel vulnerable, even if

that emotion    be   anger,   he confides in

Dumbledore,   even    if     he      is *just* a

heaster to him.

I find some of Dumbledore’s words to be

a little blunt,   yet    that might just be his

nature of personality.   His personality is

profoundly aloof, funny to be with when

he thinks off-topic and speaks in riddles

but Dumbledore   might      also just be a

really powerful   wizard    masking      his

greatness   by    doing things that make

him feel good.   Such as teaching young

children.

“He accused me of being Dumbledore's man through and through."

"How very rude of him."

"I told him I was."

Dumbledore opened his mouth to speak and then closed it again. Fawkes the phoenix let out a low, soft, musical cry. To Harry's intense embarrassment, he suddenly realised that Dumbledore's bright blue eyes looked rather watery, and stared hastily at his own knee. When Dumbledore spoke, however, his voice was quite steady.

"I am very touched, Harry.”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Not only was Dumbledore a great friend

to Harry (or so   Harry     thought) I also

think that   Dumbledore    cared   for this

orphaned boy   more than he had ought

to let on. Who   would   think   that Harry

would call himself “Dumbledore’s man”

when that sounds   very   fruity,   ngl, but

who    would   think   that   Harry     really

ed   Dumbledore      through and

through…           He did.        He was a big

Dumbledore fan! (I wasn’t).

“It's going to be alright, sir," Harry said over and over again, more worried by Dumbledore's silence than he had been by his weakened voice. "We're nearly there ... I can Apparate us both back ... don't worry ..."

"I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you.”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

And he wasn’t   worried to be with Harry

Potter, one of   the boys   who   showed

exceptional talent for his years. Though

we can argue most of that talent might

just be part of Voldemort’s horcrux and

therefore     makes   him   more talented.

What I enjoy   about   Michael Gambon’s

character is the sheer sweetness of his

at times. He   can   be a gentle soul and

that is   what   makes    him      also very

adoring.

To finish off   this tribute, here are a few

favourite moments     of     some of our

mod    team     regarding   Dumbledore!:

Alexander

I really loved when he helped in plotting Sirius Black and escaping from his own office, two of the best dumbledore moments for me! 🥺

Elias

My favourite Dumbledore moment is when Dumbledore comes to the aid of Harry during his trial for seeing a dementor and exposing magic to muggles and helps Harry in the Wizengamot trial!

Finn

I was gonna say that moment with harry and dumbledore on the rock in HBP. When they went into that cave.

Celestia

For me, it's the scene with the quote ''Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and above all, those who live without love.'' I absolutely adore this moment because it gives us a reminder to embrace life and cherish love. I think that this moment perfectly captures the essence of the HP series, where magic and wisdom come together flawlessly.

Corinne

My favorite scene of his is when Harry is like sort of in that dead/not dead place and Dumbledore is the one he thinks who comes to remind him of life.

Ra

My favourite Dumbledore moment is in prisoner of Azkaban. When Harry and Hermione deal with the time turner and Dumbledore is acting all vague, it's hilarious. I love how he is in a situation where he is not supposed to help them and choose their side but does it anyways. He helps them in Dumbledore style.

Rio

This quote holds a profound message: "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends." Despite my past criticism of Dumbledore, I have always ired him as a true leader at Hogwarts. The school and its students wouldn't be the same without him.

Michael Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore will always be ed. Rest in Peace 🕊

There is a magical and emotional undercurrent to every scene featuring Dumbledore. One moment that resonated with me was "Severus, Please." In that scene, Dumbledore demonstrated his acceptance of death and fearlessness.

Even though his time was up, he was calm and collected, convincing Draco to the cause before his ing. Dumbledore had control over his fate, and every event that followed was part of his plan all along.

Luna

This moment was iconic when in OOTP Dumbledore just vanishes after being accused of running DA and Kingsley is just like “You might not like him minister. But you can’t deny, Dumbledore’s got style."

Stevie

My favourite moment is either when he asks Snape "after all this time?" Or it would be when he appears out of nowhere to greet Harry.

Ema

One of the most cherished moments for me would be from "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." when Dumbledore, with a twinkle in his eye, said, "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." His portrayal of this iconic character added depth and warmth to the role.

And thus    with     all due respect, I say

goodbye to Michael Gambon and wish

him a      peaceful   rest! May his family

receive the proper respect and time to

mourn    and   may      Dumbledore and

Michael    forever     live    in our hearts!

All the love,

Elias
