Meet me and my animals!

Hi! Most of you guys know me as Rob even though that isn’t actually my name it kind of became it on here. I am a teenager who owns many pets and soon to get more! I currently have 2 hamsters, 2 gerbils, 1 crested gecko, and 5 snails! This is just going to be me showing them off! I am also getting degus this weekend from a breeder so I will be showing the photos I received from the breeder on here!

Jerry - roborovski hamster

Jerry is somewhere between 11-13 months old, he was a petco but and I originally got him with his litter mate, Tom, but Tom has unfortunately since ed due to unknown causes. Jerry hates eating anything vegetable or fruit wise and only seems to like eating gerber puffs and scrambled eggs. He hates being handled but has his sweet moments.

Smoke - syrian hamster

Smoke is roughly 6-9 months old and is from petsmart. Smoke will eat almost anything that you put in front of his nose and will indeed walk up to your hand and say hello, he does bite occasionally but he rarely bites anymore! He will pee on your hand when you pick him up but it’s ok because he’s cute.

Butterscotch and Caramel - gerbils

The gerbils are my most recent addition to the family, I got them at around 7 months and have had them for about a month so they are roughly 7-8 months old! They don’t like coming out much unless it’s 1 in the morning and I am trying to sleep. They tend to not eat many vegetables, just bury them and make them hard for me to find until I do cage cleans. Butterscotch is the more outgoing one and will come up and sniff you while Caramel tends to stay away from any human .

Nisi - crested gecko

I got Nisi at 2 weeks old from a local pet store who breeds crested geckos, she is now roughly 6 months old, apparently we have a recurring theme here of not owning any animals under a year old. She was a birthday present but I had known for a while and had prepared myself for an animal. My mom said I could get any animal of my choosing within reason and it was between a crested gecko and a leopard gecko, with an African fat tailed gecko in the midst at one point. I didn’t fully decide on a crested gecko until I went to the pet store and fell in love. Nisi started off not eating the best but she is slowly growing her appetite!

The snail colony _ Snail, Slug, Gertrude, Fred, and Martha

While in the photos down below there are 6 snails, sadly one died in transit to me but the photos were taken when I first got the snails. These beautiful invertebrates are commonly known as milk snails! They have been with me for almost two months and so far they seem to only enjoy eating romaine lettuce and carrots and discard everything else I try to feed, which isn’t the best because carrots are actually not good to feed often so usually I’m stuck with just feeding lettuce and a few other things. I don’t know the exact or relative age of them because I got them off eBay and the seller didn’t give me an age time frame so we are just letting them live for as long as they can and want to.

Lou and Bud - soon to get degus

I am getting degus this weekend that are roughly 10 weeks old! degus are relatively new to the hobby and hard to obtain within a few areas. I am getting Lou and Bud from a breeder in northern Florida but if you need help finding a breeder feel free to pm me and I can help you find some or be able to tell you if they are illegal in your state/country! For those who don’t know degu genetics they have morphs so to speak, which is basically for there coat colors! Lou is the lighter colored one and for his coat color it is referred to as a cream degu while Bud is the darker coat and is referred to as a sand degu!
