Karate Kid: Legends Film SPOILER FREE Film Review-[IMG=TUJ]

Ever since 2010 The Karate Kid franchise has seen a huge surge i

Ever since 2010 The Karate Kid franchise has seen a huge surge in popularity with not only a remake film being released but also a hugely successful Youtube later Netflix TV show being released as well. Both of which proved that there is still live left in this franchise and well now we have another new film added to the franchise as well and so then me as i give you my SPOILER FREE review of the film that sees two legends come together with the film in question being called simply just "Karate Kid: Legends" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when he and his mother move from Beijing to New York young fighter Li must find away to win a tournament and win the heart of the girl of his dreams in the process. Now then in of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho it does feel like a very loose retread of the plot of the 2010 film only with the countries now being reversed but to this films credit tho it does add in another new elements to make what could be seen as being a retread of the previous films plot seem fresh and new again simply by doing one thing and that's the fact that this films plot shares a connection to not only the previous films including the remake but also the show as well which is a simple thing to do and yet it's that simple thing that makes this films plot feel fresh and new again but in saying that tho this films plot isn't that well thought it out with it seeming like the characters are just going through the motions as the films plot just keeps on disappearing when it pleases which not only makes the plot of the film seem weak but it also makes it hard to tell just what the plot of the film is even meant to be in the first place which does make it hard to get into this films plot when this is something that should have been really easy to get into as at it's heart this is a sports movie plot but because of the fact that the plot isn't that well focused on it does make it hard to enjoy with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Jackie Chan as Mr. Han , Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Ben Wang as Li Fong. Also starring in this film is Joshua Jackson as Victor Lipani , Kim Possible star Sadie Stanley as Mia Lipani , Mulan star Ming-Na Wen as Dr. Fong , Aramis Knight as Connor Day , Wyatt Oleff as Alan and Black Panther and Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny star Shaunette Renée Wilson as Ms. Morgan.

Now then in of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances which s something that really does make alot of sense ass not only are alot of this films actors a bunch of genuinely really good actors in there own right but in the case of both Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio are actually reprising there roles from the previous movies with Ralph having been in the first three Karate Kid films and the Cobra Kai TV show as well as that's just how well known that he is as the Daniel LaRusso character and as such he really does know his character the best as he's been playing him on and off since the eighties with his most recent performance as the character prior to this film being the hugely successful Cobra Kai TV show and while Jackie Chan only played his character in the 2010 Karate Kid film he's also a really good actor in his own right and while it would have been super easy to name him as the best actor in this film that honor instead goes to relative newcomer Ben Wang who is simply a joy to watch in this film as he makes his character seem really likable when he very easily could have been an annoying character with this films acting really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

As the title of the film would indeed suggest this film does bring together two legends in Ralph Macchio and of course Jackie Chan. This is a really solid idea as it's something that really hadn't been done before in this franchise as up until now both the original films and the 2010 film had been treated as two completely different things with none of them making a reference to the other but here we get to see that both of these character do know of each other and know each other really well weather or not it's hard to tell of when they found out about each other we'll never know but just knowing that these two characters do know about each other does leave the door open for Hilary Swank to possibly come back in another film down the line as technically that film does exist in the same continuity as the original films as well but just the very idea of having two characters from the same franchise be together in the same film is more then enough to get those that love this franchise more then interested in seeing this film as goodness knows the films marketing didn't do the film any kind of favors whatsoever as all they had to do was say that both Jackie and Ralph were in the film and show some footage of the film and that would be it but they've barely done that instead just releasing one maybe two trailers and handful of posters and that's it and yet having a film that has these two legends in it as both of them are playing legendary characters is more the enough to say that this film needed alot more better marketing then what it got as what it got not only doesn't do the film justice but it ensures that people will forget about this film even being a thing in the first place.

For a very long time now it was long thought that the 2010 film was nothing more then a remake of the first film. Which to be fair is a fair enough assumption to make however now thanks to this film bringing Mr. Han Daniel from the original films together it now technically means that the 2010 film is a standalone sequel film of sorts where it takes place in the original series timeline but it doesn't feature any of the original films characters or locations and while bringing characters from that film into this film does indeed make sense from s marketing point of view as even thanks to Cobra Kai this franchise still isn't something that alot of mainstream audiences will know about heck even I haven't seen one single film in this film in this franchise and with Jackie Chan being the biggest star that this franchise has who is still willing to be apart of it it does make sense to bring him back into it as you can now add his name to the films poster and while it's hard to say if it makes sense for his character to leave Beijing and go to New York it is great to see that not only can Jackie still act circles around anyone that he's in a scene with but can still do alot of the action scenes as well but at the same time tho there really was no need to bring these two timelines together as the franchise would have had more then enough star power on it's own thanks to Cobra Kai as alot of people who loved that show would be more then willing to go and see this movie just because of the fact that it features a character that they might have liked for a show that they would have loved as well.

One of the more weaker aspects of this film is the love story between Li and Mia as neither actor has any chemistry with each other. With it feeling like that they've just met each other the day before filming when something that's this integral to the plot of the film should have been better thought and heck even the film straight up forgets that there in romance for large portions of the fil when they straight up don't have the Mia character appear for several minutes of the films running time with this being something that does hurt the romance part of the film as while it is understandable why they have her disappear from the movie as Li is in training for a huge tournament they still could have found away to include her character just by having her character help him train but they don't do any of that and because of that the romance does suffer because of it as we the audience do straight up forget that there meant to be in love with each other with it being the there romance that even courses the pot of the film to get started in the first place and yet once Jackie Chan enters the film it starts to get focused on less and less until the point where it might as well not even be in the film at all and infact during those scenes that her character isn't even in the movie you don't miss Sadie Stanley at all as even tho she acts well in this film her character contributes nothing to the plot of the film the more that it goes on with it becoming clear as day the more that the film goes on that the makers of this film despite being very clear fans of The Karate Kid franchise felt pressured into including a love interest for Li because as soon as they can they get rid of her character for several minuets and you don't even notice that she's been brought up or even mentioned by Li or anyone else for that matter.

While the film does rather rightfully have alot of focus on both the action and drama aspects of this film it also puts alt of focus on the films more comedic aspects as well. Which was quite unexpected as when you think of The Karate Kid you don't think of comedy you think of the action and that's really it and yet this film manages to get some really good comedy just out of Mr. Han and Daniel arguing alot of the time which is always gold to see as it feels something that there characters would actually do with this films comedy not even taking from the films more dramatic moments either like it very easily could have done as instead the comedy comes in just when it's needed to and that's really it with the film not even adding in any kind of jokes when the film does get alot more serious with this approach to the comedy really helping the standout alot more then what it really had any right to as given that these are family films it would have ben very easy for this film to end one of it's more serious moments with a joke just as a way to let the audience know that it's OK for them to laugh again but because of the fact that the film treats it's drama just as seriously as it treats it's action the films more dramatic moments are now allowed to sit with us the audience thus making the film feel alot more mature then what it really had any right to and while yes there are jokes in this film pretty much all of this films jokes are cute little jokes that alot of people will find to be really quite funny with the film containing very few jokes that don't land as the films has lot more funny jokes then it does unfunny jokes in it with even Mia getting a few jokes early on in the film that make it clear that even the romance of the film wasn't that well thought her character was.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty six minuets an fifty three seconds. Which to be fair to this film is a pretty solid running time for his film to have with this film having more then plot there to really cover that amount of running time however tho this film could have been a little bit ore longer as this film doesn't really use it's running time all that wisely as the plot of this film can't be that well developed due the fact that it has to rush along to the next plot point which has the add on effect of making this film feel alot more rushed then what it really should have dine and yet if the film did take it's time alot more then it would allow for the film to not only develop it's plot more but also for the plot to move at a ore natural pace with the film not even fully developing all of it's characters all that well as none of the characters get alot of character development outside of Li and that's really it and given that he's the main characters of the film it does make sense for him to get some level of character development but he's not the only character in the movie and while it could be argued that Daniel has the previous three movies plus the TV show to get his development and that Jackie Chan has the previous movie to get his character development there still should have been some level of thought put into there characters in this film to make there characters feel more well rounded with alot of this films side characters feeling like that there just there because of the fact that the plot of the film demands it as none of them have anything about them to make them feel unique and different and that is also something that could have been fixed if this film was even just ten minuets longer but I really will it that this film really does have some really bad pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually feature / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad As the film does have some really impressive marital arts fights in it alot of which was done without the use of stunt doubles both for Jackie and Ben which for someone of Jackie's age to still be doing this kind of stuff not only that quickly but also making look as good as he does is still a really impressive thing in it's own right with the film having a really impressive street fight scene where we get to see Li use his environment around him in ways that are not only clever and unique but also just straight up cool to see and while it would be tempting to say that the tournament scene is the best action scene in the movie due to it's storytelling sometimes just being cool is more then enough and that is something that is true for a fight that Li and Jackie have at earlier point in the film and if you've seen the latest Stuntmen React video from Corridor Crew then you'll know the scene really well and it's just as impressive if not more so then what they featured in their video as you get to see Jackie do some of the comedic elements that he's known for all the while Ben is just trying to survive and it's something that does make for a really cool action scene in this movie and that's taking into that all of this films action scenes have at the very least one cool moment in all of them as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it is hard to say if this movie will do well at the box office just because of the fact both Lilo & Stich 2025 and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning are doing really well at the box office and the fact that this movie doesn't come out in American until May the 30th this film could become a small modest hit really just based off of the fact that alot of the Cobra Kai fans might go to see it and that's really it with the film itself being a decently well made film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the goo and as well as all of the bad things that are n this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images hat I personally used in this very review from the official The Karate Kid fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from the really great Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
